Amazon.de has this gem for its deal of the day. Lowest its ever been once converted to Aus. Shipping is 16 euros, so would be worth combining with something else so make it marginally cheaper.

I once again have too many SSDs so am relying on this to sell out before I cave.

Merry Christmas :)

NOTE: It will show 199 euros on the link, VAT will be taken off at checkout making it come down to 167.23 + delivery

    That is a good price.

    • Agreed!

a few years ago the biggest price drop on SSDs was for a 250gb that was on sale at $375~ (first time dropped below $400 for a 250gb)

      that was also Amazon DE

again this time its amazon DE again

I know amazon US did a 1tb sub 300$ around blackfriday but this is almost $30 below $300!

shame (or thank god) its not a crucial or my wallet would be hurtin!

  • My goodness, great great price

  • Says 199 Euros here… Am i missing something?

    • +3

VAT. It's taken off during the checkout process.

  • Are these compatible with macbook pro laptops?

    • +5

not the retinas, they use a smaller sized PCIe SSD. This should fit into the older macbooks as they take a 2.5 inch sata

  • Woah, nice price.
    I'm getting:
    Order Summary
    Items: EUR 167,23
    Postage & Packing: EUR 15,71
    (Order Total: EUR 182,94)
    Payment Total: AUD 287.73

    Close enough really!

Pay in euros with your 28 Degrees card :)

      • Ah of course, thanks!

        • What are the exchange like with a 28 degrees card? Looking to apply for one.

        • +3

@nightelves: Uses mastercard's exchange rate found here

          @Clear:

Brilliant seems like this is the go to card for travelling overseas. Thanks

        • +2

@nightelves: I just got back from travelling around Europe. Signup for the 28 Degrees Mastercard and use it for all of the places you can pay by card then when you get back to your hotel of a night use the wifi to pay off what you spent so you don't get any interest charges. Signup for the Citibank Debit Card, you can use this to withdraw money at any ATM overseas and there are no withdrawl fees you just pay the currency exchange rate and that's it.

          Best way to travel :)

  • Awesome, bought one.

    Thanks

  • for those who missed out on the 960GB earlier @ $275 shipped, this one comes quite close.

I love the premise that you should buy something to make the shipping cheaper. Ozbargainers are like some governments spending to make money. You can't save money on an item if you don't buy it, therefore you must buy to save. Brilliant!

    • +1

dammit i totally forgot to do this. I don't have one of those 28 degrees cards either so it ended up costing me 287 but im still very happy with the price

    • Yeah, the big spending drive happens from Feb through to June so some departments can keep their bloated budgets.. Public service life yo!

  • How do you do warranty claims on this?

    • you send it to their australian depot in sydney.

      • Cool, this is cheaper than the 120gb vertex 3 maxiops I bought 4 years ago.. LOL

  • Thanks! Ordered 2 (using 2 amazon accounts).

  • Just bought one with 28 Degrees, thanks OP. Grand Total: EUR 182.94 - Going to use this as my recording/production drive WOO!

If your putting this into a PC tower (i.e. plenty of room) and needed 1 TB of SSD storage would 4 x 250GB SSD's be better in case your 1TB drive fails you lose everything?

    • +2

That's an expensive way to "protect" yourself. Usually if you just backup to 1 HDD/SSD is enough. The hard part is remembering to backup.

    • +4

i dunno… won't your chances of failure also increase by 4? XD

      • It depends.
If you raid the 4 drives to appear as one 1TB drive the chance of failure increases 4x. One drive failing will take down everything.
But if you keep it as 4 separate drives, one drive failing will take down only the data on it. The damage, of course, depends on which drive failed…

        • Backup / mirror to spindle you want the ssd read speed mostly

    • Just buy some backup software and have your 1TB SSD backup to another HDD in your PC

Ordered 1 to replace my 5 years old 120GB… Thanks OP!

Ozbargin - saves only when you spends.

  • Tried to purchase, but states the item doesn't deliver to Australia. Weird.

Edit: no, I'm an idiot. Doesn't deliver to PO boxes.

  • Sweet Jesus. Must. Resist

great price OP… didn't get one.. only because because I can't go through another upgrade for my laptop.
also, just got you the 100+ for your badge :-)

  • Awesome deal. But reading the comments, instead of buying, I opted to sign up for the 28 Degrees Mastercard first B-)

  • +2

Don't know why I bought, but I have.

    • I too dont know why i bought 1.

  • I wish this deal would sell-out already… i really dont need another SSD, lol,, i've already got a brand new 850evo 500gb still in box from a bargain not too long ago.

  • Pffft. I know why I needed it, so I bought one.

  • Oh god, before I know it I've paid for it…

  • Hot damn. Logged in on my old laptop and I see this.. as I'm thinking of buying an ssd. It's a sign!! :S

  • I already brought Samsung 850 EVO 500gb last week.. Hmm I'm tempted to buy this but,, oh no how many ssd's should I buy!! Oh god
