I reckon if you hit up your company's IT department they'll have a bucket of 3.5mm stereo patch cables and they won't sell your details to a third party.

    • Not everyone has an IT department, and plus, it's nice to get snail mail once in a while…

    • +4

not sure hy IT would have heaps of 3.5mm audio cables, our very large company certainly doesn't.
But you can also get these at any $2 shop to save providing details and 1metre is pretty limiting.

      • +3

A lot of lease computers & monitors come with them.

        • +1

Maybe but none of our lease items have had these cables for years (at least ten years).
even expensive docks and monitors for the laptops dont have them, and i'm talking about 1000s of leased units.
(I'll add that we also dont need them as well)

      • +6

I work in IT and not only do they not have these cables but they're low on basically all supplies.
Plus wouldn't it be dodgy to request work supplies for non-work activities?

      • Monitors come with them. I have bags of them in the store here because of that.

        • Not monitors from Lg, Samsung or Toshiba. Only a power cord is with those. (sealed boxes from factory)

      • +1

Our not so large IT department has tonnes of these cables that we usually have to end up e-wasting at some point.

    • +2

I've got a mate in my IT department, and he tells me they throw away cables that come with any machine. Because when they upgrade to newer machines, they keep the old cable so they won't need the new ones.

    • They only have black.

    • +3

Worked in IT department at a highschool, never in my life seen this kind of cord laying around… I'm not sure why any IT department would keep stock of these.

    • +1

I work in IT and I can tell you having spent half the day throwing out random crap to make way for a massive upgrade we don't have any of those cables.

Thanks op ordered myself one. They are always useful to have

Time to call it a night I think…

  • Where and how can I use male to male cable?

    • +3

Plugging any smartphone into an aux in for a car stereo input, or home stereo/iPod dock, etc.

  • lol how long is this gonna take

    • +4

How long is a piece of…. cable?

      • Not too long, I hope. I still can't even log into the site

        • Hopefully you get one. I think word has gotten out on this site, can't just be OZB causing this!

        • Yeah, I think the Americans are also getting in on the action. When I did manage to get to the part where it inputs details like state, suburb etc, it wanted me to first put in which state in USA.

        • +1

@shanneene: Damn yanks. Shouldn't they be asleep at 3am/6am their time? lol.

        • @sqeeksqeek: They are like the undead. They never sleep.

        • +1

@shanneene: Ahh yes, defending their country with… insomnia!

Just think though, when it finally arrives in the mail, it will be like Christmas! Just in February though… :)

      • +1

        Hehehe. That made me giggle.

  • Well, I'm trying again. It said before I had paypal as a payment option, but I checked, and I couldnt see any thing ticked with paypal. :/ So I will wait and see what happens next.

  • I feel like we're becoming good friends with Zapals. This is like my fourth or fifth free thing in like two months? Sure, only one of them has arrived so far but you can't be mad at that

  • Site is gawn: OzBargained!

  • Error: SQLSTATE[08S01]: Communication link failure: 1053 Server shutdown in progress

  • "We are currently experiencing some technical issues and we apologize for any inconvenience."

    You don't say…

  • +2

Has anyone received anything from Zapals? None of the free items I've ordered over the last month or so have arrived… yet.

    • Items from overseas always take 1-2 months.

      • I get parcels/packages from USA in 3 days or less.

        • +1

Omg, that's fast! What do they ship your goods in? The Millennium Falcon?

        • @shanneene: Plane.

    • +1
    • yes I got the iphone cover which I believe was the first thing I ordered from them so I'm expecting that the rest will arrive

      • +1

I've yet to receive anything from Zapals, including a couple of non-free items (where I actually paid money). I'm beginning to think it's a scam of some sort.

  • +1

    Yes, finally!

    Your order has been received.
    Thank you for your purchase!
    Your order # is:
You will receive an order confirmation email with details of your order and a link to track its progress.

The technical issue must have meant they booted all the Americans from the site to give us a chance. It seems to be running more smoothly now, at any rate.

    • Yep… just got my order through too… woot!

  • Coupon Invalid?

    • My bad, need to create account first

  • +2

I prefer male to female. But I'm not here to judge.

    • Actually, you can get male cables that go to a female adapter. I needed one of each when I wanted to use my headphones on my TV. Can you imagine the look I got from the silly teen who had no idea what I was talking about.

  • Just ordered a red one, thx op.

  • Thanks OP, got the blue one!

  • Clean your browser cache, cookies, and site will loading now.

  • -6

Was after a few of these, placed a couple orders.

  • +4

Coupon code "ZAPALS151215" is not valid.. this is what i am getting

  • +1

I never received any of the freebies :( although my friend received her iphone case a few days ago. Maybe they just send it randomly?

  • doesnt work for me

  • +1

Yeah, a friend tried to get 1 and got the "code not valid" message also. I'm guessing this deal has well and truly been Ozbargained.

  • Code expired me thinks.

  • +1

I ordered the mobile lens offer a week ago, and paid the shipping using PayPal. Now I'm getting a lot of spam on the PayPal email address.

    • +1

Paypal have been passing user email to sellers for years.
Happened to me with newfrog, kissbuyonline, gearbest, meritline and at least one other well known I can't remember.
      Rotten trick.

  • Tried anyway - got code expired too.

  • -7

Doesn't work, only tells you code is expired after handing over personal details. Bait and Switch.

    • i see the bait but wheres the 'switch'? :P

  • +1

I find the 10,000 units hard to believe.

  • Code Invalid when I entered it on checkout.

    • I did set the posting to say it was expired hours ago…

      • On their site it does not say that. It gives you the code and when checking out it says INVALID.
Just as well I gave them disposable email.

        Thanks for sharing anyway.

  • "Coupon code "ZAPALS151215" is not valid."

  • Requires $1 postage

  • -3

Got 6, powered by ozbargainers salty tears, thanks.

  • Coupon Code: ZAPALS151215 kinda works again. Item is free but you have to pay $1.28 for postage
