      Here's a Dick Smith 1.5m HDMI cable for $2.00 - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/224439

Looks to be v1.3 so no good for 3d

Belkin is a decent name brand. While it obviously won't provide you with a better picture than any other working HDMI cable, it might last longer than your cheapo no-name cables. Worth the extra few dollars to some people.

How often do people move their HDMI cable? Mine don't sustain much wear and tear; I've never had a video cable stop working.

        • +1

reality is, most AV cables will outlast the interface

      • As above, how often are you unplugging hdmi?!

        • +1

I've actually had an ebay one fall apart on me (the connector bent and came loose).

It happens when you're moving your PC to the loungeroom sometimes, or connecting different things to your projector, etc, stuff like that.

    $10 for a 2m hdmi cable???? lol

How much higher speed are we talking here? I require quantitative numbers so I can properly boast about my enviable cables to friends and family.

    • +5

I'm more concerned with getting the deep colour and audio - mine have been a bit flat using $2 cable.

      • +3

I believe this particular cable delivers up to 50% more kilopixels per second so jump on it mate

  • +2

How much gold does this one come with? Might be worth it if I can figure out a cheap way to extract the gold…

Whacking a brand name on something doesn't justify doubling or tripling the price.

Tell Apple that!! The last time I heard Apple was making millions with their products.

      • +1

        *billions 😳

        • +5

No, just a few millions. It's all there on their tax returns.

        • @manic: haha

The only reason to pay more for an HDMI cable is build quality and NOT sound or performance quality. Theoretically, you could just keep replacing poorer build quality cheap ones and it would still work out a while lot cheaper for the same sound/performance.

If you think red cars are faster then this cable is for you. lol

I went from nerdy internet boy to ladies man overnight after buying a brand name HDMI Cable. Also my haemorrhoids have disappeared. Thank you Brand Name HDMI Cable!

  • Reality is, there are no differences in regard to picture quality between a $2 HDMI cable and a $100 one. Unless this cable is v2.0.

    • There is a difference if your senses are more finely attuned.
I find this cable the perfect complement to the 2012 Sony, which suffered from a less pure copper supply that year due to the Chilean storms.

  • +2

compare product to product, not product to some generic rubbish, at $10 its a decent buy for a quality cable, at $60 its a joke, like any product there's always a generic version thats going to be cheaper

    • +3

i agree, people should be comparing prices to the same brand.

  • +1

good price, but listing says not available anymore.
I did see boxes of HDMI cables at DS local store yesterday, around $10 on sale from $49-$59 so are prob these.
