Showing as avail for C&C in my local stores. Post Code 4053.
      Pity I don't need any.

    • I'm from QLD, and it is in stock at Chermside, Toombul, and Morayfield. Hope that helps.

It's odd. It showed out of stock on my phone, but when I changed it to desktop version, I was able to add it to the cart.

Yeah not sure why but I've heard of this happening to a lot of people, myself included.

        • Cheers

I prefer the quality of Ultra HDMI Platinum cables from Monster®.

You get what you pay for, people.

oooooh platinum 0s and 1s. far better than those cheap 0s and 1s

    • do you pay $50 for a Monster MicroUSB cable as well?

      • +10

Yep, sharper 1s, rounder 0s… even the occasional 2

        • Once I even saw a 3! Worth the 500% mark-up just for that :)

    • HDMI is a digital standard…………..

And DSE wonders why they're stuck with millions dollars of unsold stock. Seriously, $59.98 for an apple 30-pin 20cm lightning adapter…
    http://www.dicksmith.com.au/apple-ipod/apple-lightning-30-pi…

As I gaze into my crystal ball…. I'm seeing 20th March 2018 and it will probably go from $59.98 to $1 after occupying space in their warehouse for 5 years.

    • +2

The $59 price is in part dictated by Apple. Looking at TGG their price is $59. The Apple price on their website is $59 also.

      • +1

Not sure how that makes it good idea to stock an item of very limited use for $59.98. They should have been discounting these to move them a long time ago.

KMart did the smart move to clear out the non wired adaptor for $3 awhile ago.

  • Broadway 2007 has come in stock C&C

    New DSE Checkout design?

  • Does anyone know which of these standards this cable might be? http://www.hdmi.org/consumer/finding_right_cable.aspx

I had a look at the product page and it doesn't appear to be covered in the description or specs

    • It would be the first one, good ol 1.3a I believe. Although i am sure it does 1080p

      Standard HDMI Cable
The Standard HDMI cable is designed to handle most home applications, and is tested to reliably transmit 1080i or 720p video – the HD resolutions that are commonly associated with cable and satellite television, digital broadcast HD, and upscaling DVD players.

      • If this is true, then don't put it with your Bluray player, Xbox One, PS4 etc as these all (can) output 1080p. The above statements indicate that the 1080p signal won't be carried and you'll get lower quality than you should from your awesome devices.

edit: It probably wouldn't cope with the output from your laptop either, if you're using 1920 x 1080 (or higher)

        • They will work at 1080p. Most people would probably have these "standard" HDMI cables in their homes for various devices, they work fine. They just aren't technically rated for it. They do work though.

Remember HDMI is a digital signal, not analogue. It's either going to work, or it's not & will look ridiculously screwed up. Nothing in between.

In fact I'm using a standard (1.3) HDMI cable for my gaming pc at 1080p/60 fps+

What you mean the staff didnt take them all for themselves?

  • Why doesn't the DSE Checkout work for me at the moment? When I press checkout I get a blank screen. Does anyone know what is going on?

    • Looks like they have updated their checkout screen (all new look) - not working with Internet Explorer, but working with Chrome and Firefox.

      • Thanks it worked with Chrome.

        • Why on earth are you using IE by default?

        • @Lukian: My work computer. lol not my decision. lol had to download chrome. lol

  • They had heaps at emporium.

  • Try using chrome browser if you get the blank screen.

  • Does these hdmi cables support 4k resolution?

    • not that i'm aware of.
Dicksmith just put ALL there hdmi cables on clearance, its less than $20 for the 5M gold one which supports UHD.

  • Thanks for this, I actually needed this for when the Sony speakers come.

  • Thanks Dick, but no thanks because whatever it is confirmed with you, it is gonna be canceled sooner or later! Dick ain't good.

  • Thanks, ordered one from Chatswood Chase NSW store

    • I also ordered one from Chase but I haven't received a confirmation SMS or email yet. Did you get yours?

      • Yep - received confirmations shortly after booking and picked-up the HDMI cable yesterday

        • Cheers mate. Still haven't got any email, will have to chase them up

  • Thanks, just ordered one.

  • Ordered at a country NSW store, thanks.
