great find and $50 cheaper than in store price

  • +1

    Isn't that 4 games?

    Edit: it's a halo bundle+3 extra games

  • Damn, this is really tempting as I want a Forza machine.

However I picked up Forza 4 and Horizon 1 for 360 last week during the DSE sale so I don't know if adding to my backlog is going to help the situation.

    • +2

There's a fairly good chance that both of those games will be backwards compatible in the coming months (Microsoft has committed to making all first-party Xbox 360 titles fully compatible with the Xbox One)

  • That is a great deal thanks. There will be plenty of deals coming up over the next few weeks. Lead up to Christmas
I also picked up about 10 games from dick Smith sales for the Xbox one best $200 I have ever spent for the xbone at $20 each.
Kmart and dick Smith both getting out of games so check daily for great deals

  • +1

Does this come with Kinect or have to buy extra?

    • No Kinect

    • Extra with this bundle!

  • Do all 1TB Xbox consoles have the hybrid drives?

    • +1

      No, only the Elite

      • Thanks!

  • Does Xbox 360's Kinect work on Xbox one?

    • Nope. The Kinect accessory that is compatible with Xbox One is a better model (higher resolution, wider angle, detects more people, able to detect more detail, always listening microphone, etc). They can be picked up fairly cheaply, but otherwise not required.

      • So nothing on Xbox 360 can re-use on one?

        • +1

          Only your Gold subscription

        • @freeradical:
          ok, thanks

        • +1

They are adding backwards compatibility on q title by title basis so you will be able to reuse the majority of your games.

        • Technically, you can use 360 controllers on a windows 10 PC streaming XB1 games… So I guess that counts for something… As long as you have the means to connect a controller to the PC.

        • @Agret: Yes, 'majority'. I was under that belief too.

Until they officially announced full release of their 'Backwards Compat Program' that has <7% of their title support.

  • Dang it, I picked up the Microsoft Store one about three weeks ago, for $499, the only difference is that I got Forza Horizon 2 which I sold for $30.

    This is a great buy.

    • You can initiate a chat with microsoft and organise a refund. They cover postage back to them as well. I did it yesterday!

      • +2

Tempting but to save $70, it's just not worth it right now. I'm way too busy to organise all of that.

And there's (almost) always a better deal around the corner, so you win some you lose some. It's all good:)

  • Super cheap! last one WITH 20% ebay discount WITHOUT the halo 5 comes at $391

  • Just bought it with 4,000 Flybuys points got an extra $20 off so paid $369
    Awesome!!

    • How did you get flybuys points . I cannot see a mention of it

    • Ignore my previous comment. Got it.

      • so how do you use the flybuy points?

        • I donno. But I understand he used his flybuys not earned after reading it later

        • +1

Every 2000 Flybuys points = $10 off. You log on to Flybuys and redeem points for cash. I've used this method to get free games/controllers in the past when sales pop up.

  • Why have these consoles gotten so cheap all of a sudden? You'd think new model were coming out or something!

    • +1

I think the streaming devices are giving hard times to the consoles. PC can have better specs, graphics, is upgradable, much better resolution compared to xbox one or PS4, does not require $ to play online and cheaper games. So if I could stream games from my PC to my TV sometimes, I dont think I will need the consoles.

      • +1

The PS4 and XB1 are selling better than their predecessors at the same stage. So I hardly think they are having a hard time. Even if they were struggling, I doubt you can put it down to PC streaming, sure its a factor. Tablets, smart phones and other casual devices would have more of an impact on console gaming than PC streaming.

        • Well considering the Wii spanked both of them in the previous gen but the Wii U isnt now, I would expect current PS and Xbox sales to be up in comparison.

        • +6

@lowey71: Casuals bought the Wii, same people now play games on phones and tablets.

    • Competition. The console makers need to sell as many as possible as new threats are emerging. TV boxes are trying to add gaming capabilities and Valve with Steam boxes is trying to move PCs into the living room. So I would expect both console makers to be quite aggressive with pricing from here on in.

  • How much is standalone Kinect?

    • $169 at EB Games or JB Hi Fi.
Or $68 second hand from here

  • I am confused between this deal and JB HI FI $529 bundle….JB has new and good games…this one is cheapest I have seen…

    • If you are paying $529, pay $70 more and get an elite. The damn controller is worth $150 by itself.

  • Nice deal just got one thanks op.

  • would it be cheaper to buy it in-store? is it available instore? and I think you can use Flybuys points if you have some credit on your Flybuys card.

  • Super cheap!

  • got one…

  • +1

GAH! got the one with fifa 16 for 320.. damn would have been better to get this.. sometimes its better to be oblivious and think you got a great deal.. haha damn you ozb!

  • Hi for someone who is getting a xbox one very soon. Should i get this bundle or spend a couple more bills on a elite package

    • +1

i have many consoles and i always went for the cheapest package (inc or excluding games) .. i tend to do this because i never sell my consoles i have them dating back to the 80's … so dont care about fancy pictures or colours for my consoles (in saying that i dont know what the elite package has) lol if you are going to buy Halo 5 this is pretty good package .. specially since its the 1TB … just my opinion

      • I have all my consoles since 80s as well, back then consoles didn't really have much variations. Well, they kinda started from PSX. I had the PSX big one, then got PSOne slim one, same for PS2.

Back on topic, the elite has 1tb SSHD, so faster game loads etc, plus the Elite controller which is worth around $150-$200 by itself. So you are paying for better specs than just fancy colours. IMO if I was willing to spend $500 on the console with games bundle, I'd go for the Elite instead. XBone game prices are falling faster than dead flies over the last year.

        • how much faster is the hard disk? i know of it but haven't read much about actual improvements. the only use i'd see for the elite controller ( i have consoles and i play games but im not a gaming nut that i need to tweak things to death) is to resell it and save some dosh overall.. so i get your points and its understandable but its a good amount more .. so really depends if topdog is that type of gamer … :)

apologies for making the elite xbox sound pointless.. :) not what i meant

        • @scud70: Oh I have no idea about how good the actual console is, I don't own one. :) The normal xbone I think has a 5400 rpm drive, where as a typical sshd has 7200 rpm drive. Not sure what the data transfer rate difference is though.

For my PS4, you'd just buy the cheapest bundle, swap the hard drive for a ssd/sshd by yourself. xbone doesn't really let you do that afaik.

        • @shadowarrior: no it doesn't let you do that easily, i believe same as 360 they load there own firmware for the drives (i could be wrong though).. i remember you could buy that model drive and there was a tool to do it for 360 (i did that myself) but yeh lots of hassle … i went for size in my ps4, put a 2TB drive in (psn+ so i dl the free games.. :)) got it from one of those external drive deals .. loll

        • @scud70: I still need to bump storage on my PS4… just bought that LG 4K tv deal and picked another 980 to SLI…. consoles are not getting enough love from me atm :(

I only used my 360 to play all the GOW and Fable games…. never been touched beyond that :| Oh and maybe Kinect sports for some laugh and giggles.

        • @shadowarrior: i have 3 kids now… you just did about 20x more than i can in that sentence hahaha

        • @scud70: Hahaha :P Yeah I made that clear with the Mrs before I got married 8 years back….not having kids… other things have higher priority…like new computer parts, gaming stuff, cars, motorbikes, gadgets :P

I've got two little poodles who are as close as my two sons though:P Only repent, I can't get them to farm/grind MMOs while am away, could have trained my human kid to do that.

        • @shadowarrior: hahaha i'll train my 4yr old son to give me some excuse to play more games .. 3rd was a boy as well so its all coming together.. hahahaha patience!

        • @shadowarrior:

Wow totally off topic now but I hope you are joking about the kids part. Kids are probably the greatest thing you can do with life, better than gaming and gadgets that is for sure. This is coming from a guy that never thought he'd get married, have kids, and pretty much just use to play sports, party and game with his life!

        • @serpserpserp:

Nah not joking at all. Well, apart from the reasons though. :)

Both me and the Mrs live a very busy and I'd say chaotic lifestyle around our professional life. And we simply won't be able to give the love, time and dedication a child needs growing up. We don't like the idea of daycare centers or a relative (in-laws) taking care of the child while we are busy with work. Add to that, we are in our 30s and we moved to this country, so we have a long way to build up assets for security. We don't like falling back on our parents for financial support, but if we are in dire straits, we don't have anyone to pull us out.

Noting the ever changing and volatile employment scenario we currently have in this current economy (even though we are both in permanent roles in our company for 5+ years now), I would prefer to have bit more to cover us with an additional source of income on top of the salaried positions we hold. An investment property, or a business. Something to fall back on as a Plan B. Till these milestones are met, we can't see it logical to bring in a kid.

What if one of us loses his/her job while the kid is 1 year old. Mortgage+living costs+now added expenses from a child will be too much of a burden till he/she finds a new job. An additional source of income can fill in that short-gap till we can get back to our normal routine.

And because we over commit ourselves to work (we both are workaholics) we sometimes spoil ourselves by purchasing things to keep us entertained.

We've been copping it from our parents to have kids over the last 8 years :)

        • @shadowarrior:

Understand your logic. But there are many people out there (myself included) that have no assets, no extended family assets to fall back on, mid 30's, and still have time to have a kid. My wife and I work some pretty extreme jobs too. It is tiring as all get out, and there is no free time, but it is so worth it.
An investment property will never be positively geared in this environment so no income will be freely generated there, a business will often take a couple of years to get off the ground, and doing that while working full time jobs just prolongs that. I wouldn't wait if you ever want a family, life is too short. What is the point of generating wealth if you have no one to pass it onto?

Just my 2 cents worth. I'll get off my soapbox now :)

  • Heads up OP! Ebay store has been updated. Time to use cashrewards too :)

    No C&C though :/

  • +1

    • +1

and someone just bought it yesterday for $459, he/she better not opening ozbargain today

      • Yeah some serious buyers remorse will be setting in there.

  • If doing C&C at Target, Cash Rewards gives a whole $2.92 back. You may get a better CR rate via ebay. For me, collected after 4,000 FlyBuys points spend and cashrewards I've paid $366.08

  • Is it me or the deal disappeared?

    • Yep expired.

      • That was quick… :(

        • 1695 clicks in nearly 4 hours. Every XB1 deal is getting better each time ;)

        • @Clear:

Deal still available on the Target eBay store although it's delivery only. Good for those also who have the $25 eBay voucher from the amaysim deal.

    • same,, no page found! deals gone~! but the target ebay deals still good

      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Xbox-One-1TB-Console-3-Game-V…

  • OP .. just change the link to Ebay and take off expired!! by changing the date

    • I'm nervous about buying one off Ebay after looking at their negs for the past month. I'm not sure I'd be relying on them getting it to you before Christmas.

      http://feedback.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&f…

      • that's a risk sure,, but the last 2 consoles i purchased from Target ebay store click and collect took under a week.

        • This is not C&C through the eBay deal although it's home delivery only.

        • @hollykryten:

sorry.. i should of said // one was click and collect the other was delivery.

  • Nice deal. I would be all over this if it had Kinect.

    • +1

To be honest… Kinect is dying. Microsoft tried to push it, but there are now few new titles that support it.
I think Microsoft has now moved past Kinect.

      • It is the 3dtv of the gaming world

      • Depends.

Kinect is the only way to control your TV through the Xbox. We have our Tivo hooked up to the Xbox One and it works perfectly. Pause / rewind / whatever native Xbox controls all work with Tivo (which you can even activate via voice). And then it controls our Sony TV for volume and power off (so saying "Xbox turn off …. Yes" will turn off the Xbox which then shuts down our TV too)

I totally agree it's not worth it for the gaming, but if you can find it for cheap, I totally recommend it for TV / set top box controls.

      • I really enjoy the voice commands and some of the games are fun. It's not essential, but nice to have.

  • Is this a similar price we'd get on a Boxing Day sale, or is it better to splash out on it now???

    • +4

If I buy a scratchy today, will I win more than $10?

    • its better then boxing day sales.

      • How do you know?

        • He doesnt, that's the joke :).

    • I'm still holding on for boxing day sales…specially on the elite version.

      • +1

Have bad memories of the 360 Elite. Bought it, put custom firmware on it staight away. Banned the next day. :-0

        • That's why I only used my 360 Elite to play SP games, and never purchased XBOX Live :P
Called up EB, and they offered me a generous $29 for trading my xbox360 in towards the XBONE. :\

  • +1

Oh no I pressed BUY! :)

  • +1

Tempted in buying this as I missed out on EB Games Mad Monday 8 Game Deal but after doing some sums this deal is about $35 dearer.
With $35 I could have bought 35 games from JB or a few games from DSE!

    • +1

Implying you were able to order from EB lol

  • Is this a good deal :D

  • +1

Looks like too late, wasn't able to pay on time the deal expired.

    • Same, was just filling it out and got reject. Sooo close.

  • Is the Halo5 an actual disc game or download?

    • never mind zero available :(

  • Wow that deal went fast

  • Dang. Just saw this deal. Would have snapped up in a jiffy. Would have made my girlfriends Xmas.

  • +2

Just picked mine up from the store and they forgot to pack Halo 5 in. I was a little worried because it's not specified on the invoice…
Luckily the staff were helpful and trusting

So make sure your order is all there!

  • Got one! Going to sell the previous Xbox bundle I bought from Target for $319 to a friend, this bundle is much better! For an extra $70 I get a 1TB + 3 extra games :)

    • Not a good friend eh?

  • Does it still have Halo 5??
