Oppo rep on whirlpool is telling people who whinged about the price drop (pissed they paid full price recently) that it was a price error and that they've asked dick smith to "rectify it". So the Oppo phones might be put up in price soon….anyone undecided better move quick

I can't see how the Oppo rep can dictate to DSE that it is a pricing error as it is DSE's prerogative to determine what price they sell at.
Vendors often do, just depends on if DSE care about their relationship with Oppo. I don't think Oppo is a huge deal to DSE in DSE's current state so they probably just want to clear stock. Years ago I had Sony threaten to suddenly be out of stock of PS2's for any reorders I tried to make if I used them as a loss leader one christmas. Sony I took seriously, Oppo I would not.
I would say Oppo have been hassled by their other vendors (Optus, MobileCiti, etc) with questions on how DSE can do it so cheap and are expecting Oppo to mark down their stock to compete.
The store does order more p8, I went to Sydney George st store yeasterday around 6pm, there were 2 left. Picked up one and the other one was gone too. Sales said they ordered 10 yesterday.

Anyone have issues with the R7's for push notifications?
Had to return my P8 due to random freezing and push notifications refusing to work :( Also didn't have any stock to swap

Only got a screen protector on top (is this normal?) and also a back cover. Checked the charger and it's untouched.

Just got JB HIFi to price match the Huawei P8. I rang them up and asked them if they price match, told them the store and price and they said they would. Picked the phone up half hour ago.

The phone comes in a box with a sleeve over the box. Nothing else like sticky tape is sealing it.

yeah, very happy with it. Feels very premium. I got it for my girlfriend who had a xperia z1 which has seen better days, defiantly an upgrade . I tweaked it a little for her with the xperia UI and some stock apps like the xperia gallary app and music app as the Huawei is lacking good stock apps. Other then that this phone feels like a $800+ phone.

Get JB HIFI to price match.
Went personally to one JB and ranged two more, but they said they can't do price match because on DS website it says "Temporarily Out of Stock". How sad :/
Now I won't have a cell phone from Tuesday to boxing day (unless I can't find a deal) or else will look for One plus one/One plus 2/G4 on the Great GumTree.

Just got confirmation that my order is shipped - took about 4 days.
After a week of using the P8, I can confirm that it is a great phone for the money
I like Huawei's version of Android
The camera is very good
Battery life no so
A bargain if you can get it for $349

did they scan it cause it ususally scans at the reduced price but will prob show full price on shelf

Horrible service by Dick Smith. Ordered one yesterday morning at 8 am. People walk in and after store opens at 9 and buy the phone. There was stock till afternoon and they were happily selling it in store and now they say it's out of stock and refund my order!
