Well, if u re NAB employee or their associate u got this for free. Anyway, from my experience it is quite USELESS … if u stay in Victoria / Melbourne, you can get quite a bit ( < 20) of Buy one get one free restaurant but Sydney, Brisbane and Perth is pretty much useless (1 rest / city with the rest in the woop woop land… ) let alone NT and SA

all other deal is crap by no means, so if i live in melb and have to pay $10/year yeah i will probably, but other than that better buy Entertainment card for $65.

    • Thanks i have the entertainment card and was wondering if this was any good , answered my questions :)

    • My experience is a bit out of date but …

I haven't had a Presidential card in years. The social club where I worked had it for a while. In the old days (and I am in Melbourne) there were some nice deals for places around the city. But the offers dwindled off after a few years till the offers were few and far between.

      Note

I was skimming their site to see if they have a current list of offers that you can get for joining. eg what restaurants, hotels and the offers. I couldn't find it, but I did find this, and the poster might want it in their description

Now you can purchase The Just Group Gift Voucher at 10% off the purchase price.

Your Just Group Gift Card is redeemable in any Just Jeans, Portmans, Jay Jays, Jacqui E, Dotti, Smiggle & Peter Alexander store in Australia

We do have a number of members interested in Jay Jays (some in Smiggle and a couple in Peter Alexander), so that bit might be of special interest to the community.

As these are gift vouchers, does that mean they can be used to pay, just like a credit card, for sale items and specials?

      • Can't see why not.
Best was when I used a Peter Alexander voucher in DFO Moorabbin and they gave me cash back.
I bought $100 worth of vouchers for $90 and after my purchases ($85) I got $15 back.

    • If you're a CBA employee you can purchase supermarket gift cards at 5% off and Myer gift cards at 10% off plus discounted movie tickets etc.

  • I have this through CGU insurance so it didn't cost me a thing.
I buy $1000 worth of Woolies, Coles Giftcards at $950.
    Use them for shopping etc.
    Good Value.

  • should have left it at 50% off as the annual membership is half price…

  • Got one a couple of years ago for nothing and I didn't think it was that good really. And to pay for membership?? No thanks!

  • I also have this through CGU Insurance and I've just used it to knock 15% off admission price to all the Gold Coast theme parks. All I had to do was pre-purchase online. Saved me about $150 all up so I'm happy with it even if I never use it again.

I have realvalue card from ticketmaster. It has the same discounts if not more. Paid $20.

    I buy $1000 wishcards for $950 for discounted food&petrol.

so it's like geting 4+5=9 cents discount for petrol with everyday rewards card and wishcard.

    • Looks like your link got cut off, http://www.ticketmaster.com.au/realvalue?tm_link=tm_homeA_n2

What are the other discounts, for example Hoyts? Also whats the shipping cost on the giftcards?

Wow, learning so much about card memberships today.

      • Im not at home to check its booklet but from memory jbhifi Gift cards 5%, coles gift cards 5%, fletcher jones 10%, harris scarf 10%, babyco 10%, glue 7%, SDS 15%, guess 15% ….

Dont remember the movies but they are there, i can check the booklet tomorrow.

Im not sure if i can upload the booklet here?

        Postage is free.

    • huh, :) I didn't realize you could use wish cards for petrol too

      • You can at woolworths caltex. if you fill it up once a week you save approx $120 a year from both cards.

  • I paid $20 to join the Presidential Card membership last year. Everything was good although I only used it to purchase supermarket vouchers. No need to pay postage but one thing to note though, the delivery takes awhile (3 weeks +) and they experienced some supply issues at the end of last year.

My membership ran out without warning nor any notification email advising me that my one year is up.

I now use Eco-Gold Card from Victoria Electricity for free and the delivery is quick but you have to pay a small amount of postage.

  • The biggest difference is that the presidential card gives free postage on the vouchers vs the others who charge for these at around $3 a shipment, so it depends on how many vouchers you order in a year.

Bu there are some cards like the tickemaster or eco gold that I cant see if and how much postage costs. Some update from OP's on the costs or ordering the cards would be of help to us all.

      Eco-Gold Card Postage

      Standard $1.00
      Registered $3.80
      Express $5.15

Note: Orders over $200 will require Registered or Express shipping

    • Postage is no longer free. You have the choice to pay 55c for regular postage or $3 for registered post. For gift cards, I get mine shipped with registered post as it's just like shipping cash (not replaceable, not refundable) if it goes astray.

You can now use Amex to buy the gift cards (no surcharge), which you couldn't do previously (used to be Visa and MasterCard only) and this is great as I also earn 3 points per dollar with Westpac Altitude.

      • Getting the ECO card as our electricity account is due for auto renewal. Entertainment card sells Coles vouchers for 5% off with postage included, right? Just checking.

        • That's correct.

Eco-Gold card has both supermarket gift cards at 5% off whereas Entertainment Book only has Coles gift cards.

  • I am a member and use it often. But only for wish cards.

5% off laptops, apple products, tv's at dick smith.

Negotiate the best price then pay with wish cards.

Everyone always loves apple deals at 10% off this makes them almost 15%.

That and 5% off fuel and groceries.

    Love it!

I have had issues with waiting up to 4 weeks for a card, but its usually 2 weeks.

Card delivery was free but last time i visted there was a post saying they would start charging for delivery, maybe they already have?

    • Agreed. Wish gift cards are so much better than the Coles gift cards.

You can use it at heaps places, eg. Woolworths, Big W, BWS, Dick Smith etc and most importantly you can get 5% off petrol as well at Woolworth/Caltex.

Coles gift cards can only be used at… Coles.

      • You can use them at Coles, Myer, Target, KMart, Officeworks, Liquorland, etc….

        • +1

My understanding is that there are two types of "Coles" gift cards, one being Coles gift cards and the other one being "Coles Group and Myer" gift cards.

As far as I know, Entertainment Book, Presidential Card and Eco-Gold only have the ordinary Coles gift cards which is only valid at "Coles Gift cards are valid at over 700 Coles (excludes Coles Express and Coles Online), Bi-Lo and Pick n Pay grocery stores across Australia."

  • so the cheapest if you dont have cgu insurance is to pay $20 for ticketmasters card . but what about postage costs? do they accept amex and charge a credit card surcharge?
