Where's it made & who makes the engine?

  • Any good? Couldn't find any reviews.

    lol plastic.

      lol grunt

      • The grunt is going to melt the plastic

  • Bought this online from Sydney 4 years ago and it's still going strong! Easy start and good cut. I only wish the minimum blade height could go down by ~1cm more.

with solid plastic deck material and straight blade

Perfect for mowing the leaves on you apartments verandah

The blades won't push the grass into the catcher. They would need to be replaced with different blades (usually about $20 if you can find compatible fitting and sized blades).
The plastic deck doesn't bother me if it's solid and UVA and UVB stabilised, unless you are in the habit of mowing rocks, tools and thick branches. The plastic is much lighter and won't rust. If you do like mowing rocks, learn to sharpen your blades very frequently.
I'd be more worried about the motor on this mower. I've seen black eagle around for a few years, so check reviews. Don't rely on eBay feedback as faults will occur well after you are allowed to comment after purchase.
I am still running my electric (corded) WORX mower that I picked up for $80 with a 3yr warranty a while back. It has a plastic deck, is very light and quiet. it's like mowing the lawn with a vacuum cleaner, except it cuts and mulches instead of lifting dirt. Some hate it, I love it. I Also like the lack of maintenance and no need for petrol.

      • Would you recommend the electric WORX mower? I'm thinking of getting an electric mower instead of petrol but unsure atm.

May be a better option for someone looking for a cheapie.. (less 10% with code DIYDAYS until 9dec)

    • Yes and you hope it breaks before two years because you get a new one from Masters.

      • +9

Masters will not exist in 2 years time.

      • I bought an electric lawnmower, Bunnings brand, from Bunnings for exactly the same reason. Don't expect it to last 3 years but that's how long the warranty is for so I'll swap it when it dies.
Hassle is keeping their crappy receipts for that long.

        • Bunnings will exist in 3 years

        • +1

I really hate the idea bunnings will still exist, i like that masters in the game keeps them all somewhat honest

        • How's the electric mower from Bunnings been for you? I'm thinking of getting an electric mower instead of petrol but unsure atm.

        • @hoons: I blown my first electric mower because the blade got stuck by thick grass and caused the motor to generate heat high enough to melt the plastic inside (my mistake for keeping it running LOL). Eventhough it was a cheap model from Bosch but I think it's the problem with electric mower, while with petrol the engine will just stop and you can restart it again, no problem.

  • let's see, the 18" version with bigger motor was selling from the same seller for $199 up till two days ago http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-BLACK-EAGLE-18-Lawn-Mower-158…

plus it is a no-name brand. this is not a good deal. comparison to the rrp and %off is bs.
