All you need is English muffins, cheese, egg and bacon or cheap hamburger patty and you can make your own sausage/bacon and egg McMuffins

I watched a YouTube video of a guy making them with a Tefal branded one, they look delicious.

Seems like a useless waste if cupboard space, you need to cook the bacon first anyway so you have to dirty another pan anyway.

wow i thought it cooked the bacon and egg that's 100% useless if all it does it melt some cheese and cook an egg.

    • The guy using a similar one had thin hamburger patties already cooked (in a container in the fridge I assume), not sure how cooked bacon would last in the fridge as I don't buy it.

      • Cooked bacon doesnt get that lucky in my house, wouldnt get the fridge door open before it being gobbled up! Mmmmmmmmmm bacon

      • Smoked salmon or ham would be more practical.

    • You could just cook an egg in a bowl in the microwave then pair it with ham cheese in a muffin nuke for 1min n presto something very similar totalling only one dirty bowl a side plate #livingthedomestic-lesslife

      • You'd get a much better result from just using a pan. Put the buns inside-side down, egg in a ring, ham just in the pan with the cheese on top of it. Combine when the egg is done.

        • Yeah takes a bit longer in a pan but probably slight +1 on taste factor doing it that way, but isnt too much different and is quicker using ze microwaver

Edit: Oh and I forgot it was egg in bowl cheese on top then you can put ham (but usually put 2 slices of tomato and no ham) salt/pepper then nuke and chuck it between 2 slices of toast or toasted muffins I guess in this case. Anyway quick which is good. Forgot process havent done it in a while. My latest easy meal is chopped meat/veg in baking tray with can of coconut milk thats been mixed with 1/2 jar of Thai green curry paste and bake for 2 hours and have with rice… mmm

        • @Lucky13: it's less the taste, more the texture that gets messed up by the microwave

  • I like the idea of these but if you want bacon in a muffin, kinda defeats the purpose.

Good price OP usually 30-50 bucks.

These were on clearance at Big W for $5 a few months back. Unfortunately not worth much more than that. Used a handful of times the first couple of weeks, then the novelty wore off. Another useless kitchen appliance in the cupboard.

    • That was the Hamilton Beach branded one but same same. Got one too and a $5 Rollie I am yet to try.

  • Useless, would take ages to feed the family 1 at a time.

Cool. Will get one to go with my hot dog maker, pie cooker, fairy floss maker, corn popper, tea pod machine, toaster oven, pizza cooker, air fryer, food dehydrator, bread maker and pasta maker as i still got a muffin sized piece of bench space left

you still need to get a sous vide machine and ice cream maker!

  • Mate 'MacMuttin' is trademarked by MacDonalds. Therefore you should only use the term 'muffin'

macmuttin? So lamb is now on the menu?

There aint nuttin like a macmuttin

      • +1

they've done Mc rib, McChicken, etc. so if they want to do a lamb-related breakfast treat why not the McMutton McMuffin !!!

    • O'muffin is still available.

  • All this talk of bacon & egg muffins…I'm heading to maccas to grab one!

  • +1

    Or get a frypan

  • +3

Wow, it's almost like I could just use the toaster and frypan I already own.

    —literally everyone

  • good deal. but I dont see any need for one of these.

  • Pointless device is pointless.

  • +1

whilst the price is cheap, i cant see it being of any use.

i just use a frying pan, and egg rings. that will solve my bacon, round egg, and toasting of my muffin. use a cast iron one for best taste

  • My $10 Target Sandwich Press will cook everything this does. I cook bacon and egg(use egg rings), sausages, beef patties etc. I only use the pans for complicated stuff like stir fry (that's as complicated as I get).

  • How easy is this to clean?
