One of the best metroidvania style games out there. I still hope that they'll do the follow up some day.

but their epicgames servers are obviously pretty crap since its impossible to create an account without getting errors
So if you click download…it downloads the installer for Epic Launcher…when you login to Epic Launcher….you….get nothing..just the promo html tile that the game is free.
I closed out of the launcher then reopened and a tab for "Shadow Complex" was available along the top. There was an install option on that page. I'm at 50% downloading now and size at this point was about 500mb
Yep can confirm. After couple of login attempts, allowed me to install the game.
Guys don't bother trying this yet. They're either being hammered or completely not ready to actually give it out for free…
No word on how big it is or how the free use works (limited time? etc.) so far.
The epic loader was about 7mb to start and then another 80mb for the program.
thats obvious since i can't even install the unreal engine.
update* so clicking install didn't work. but as soon as i clicked the cross on the engine install thing it starts installing???

you think they would have known better considering shadow complex was one of the most downloaded xbox arcade games.
and people have been asking for a pc version as well as sequel for years
I downloaded the game, but it keep crash after launch. Do i need to have the unreal engine for the game to work. If so, i cant even download it at the moment so the game doesnt seem to be working.

Update: It's about 27mb for the intial downloader, another 80mb for the rest of it, and then about 1GB for Shadow Complex, which is apparently free for the rest of the year.
So they are releasing the remastered version for console and PC next year but they are giving away the remastered PC version now? Great for us, but that doesn't seem to make much business sense.
An FYI: if you are running Bidefender, disable its firewall and then it should work.
OK they've fixed it all up now. Pity you need the launcher to do this, welcome another Origin/Steam/Greenman/Gamestop/etc. program to your system ;-/
I mean obviously this is to get people using their installer/sales platform, but yet another one? Le Sigh.
Still no word on when the free period ends, as I would have to imagine that it will, after the holiday, to push sales on console.

The platform is used for downloading their content but is not the same as the others, it is more meant for the Unreal 4 development. It does sell modules for the SDK but not aimed at selling games.

Wow releasing on consoles too! This truly was a brilliant and addictive game on 360! Would have sold a bunch on PC, not sure why they're giving it away but not arguing. Happy gaming 😊
