4150

This is huge guys! Available in-store only nationally from 9am today. May have something to do with yesterday's massive share price drop. Unfortunately, I have no idea on stock levels, but hopefully you'll be able to snag what you want. Will try to upload a receipt later for you. Good luck!

Seems these prices may apply to David Jones (powered by DSE) as well. See the comment from paleorama. If prices aren't advertised in-store, ask at the counter. The Canon is tagged at $999 but scans at $399, plus you get a $100 cashback by redemption.

      • Oh man I left 15 mins ago cos parking was just about to expire. I would've otherwise! But don't worry there's heaps of them as shown in the pic.

        • DOH, thanks anyway mate

  • No 3200's or 700d's at the Melb Bourke St Mall. No Ps4's left either.

They did however have 52mm Hoya Filters UV HMC filters for $4.5 and kenko filters for $1

    • any point and shoots?

      • was disheartened so didnt look, but they had the sony a320(?) action cam for $99, display model only

  • +3

Scored a couple of 3200's and some games.

The guy behind the counter confessed that he bought all the consoles before the store opened… Just like the last big sale!
I guess the only way to get the really good stuff is to be staff.
He even admitted if he knew the camera's were on sale he would have bought all of them too.

  • +1

melb bourke st mall was sold out long ago wish I had known about the 700d when out looking for the 3200

    • If it lets you sleep tonight, they didn't have any 700d's from start of day. Overheard them saying it.

  • Was at the bondi store a few hours ago

Most the good stuff is gone.

    • +2

      Watch out on eBay…..

  • +2

Went into MacArthur Square DSE this arvo. Asked them to scan the LOGITECH G633 and G430 headsets and asked if the 70% off gaming accessories sale applied. The headsets scanned through at full price of $279 and $119 respectively.
Sales persons from both MacArthur Square and Campbelltown DSE said the clearance may be starting tomorrow.

I've seen some people post that there are some headset bargains while not specifying what those bargains are. To eliminate confusions, please post what bargain headsets and other accessories you've seen.

    • Yeh went there too. Hardly anything was on special except the Nikon D3200 and a few games.

    • +3

Macarthur and Campbelltown DSE's are terrible. Usually when everyone is on sale they either have them stocked at full price or have no stock at all.

      • Agreed. I got there @ 9:15am and asked the salesperson if they had a sale today on gaming etc and he said not really just a few PS3 and 360 games were discounted. They had no PS4's in stock. No PS3's and Xbox 360's. Just empty display boxes. Terrible for sure. Campbelltown one had some XB One and PS4 older games on sale.

    • Only Roccat Kulo AFAIK

      • DSE sell Roccat? Never knew haha. Didn't even see any Roccat products in store.

        • +1

Only the Kulo 7.1 headset, Arvo keyboard and Kone Pure mouse (all which they stopped selling hence on clearance) I think most stores have a reasonable number of them.

Hopefully the Logitech stuff go on sale because there are a ton so even if you broden there will still be plenty of stock. But I noticed from a couple of DSE's that the boxes can look pretty battered up so hopefully they have good packaging.

        • @shot: yep hopefully the Logitech stuff goes on sale. Hoping they miraculously include the new Logitech G633 headset, normal price is $279, would love to nab it for $83 with 70% off. (My hopes are too high haha)

  • nothing left dslr wise at tea tree plaza (modbury, sa)

some games, more ps4 than xb1, plenty of ps3 and x360 though

  • Did anyone luck out with PS4 games in WA? Witcher 3 for 1 dollar would be a dream!

    • Midland Great Eastern Hwy had stacks :) Didn't see Witcher 3 though but wasn't looking for it!

    • CDB store had a few PS4 games, didn't see the witcher though.

    • Yeah I bought the last copy of The Witcher 3 at the William St store for $1.

  • anyone have any luck price matching anywhere else like Myer etc?

    • +1

      It's a clearance sale for a reason

      • -4

Oh really? Going by upvotes, I doubt even if Dick had at least 255 items (quantity) for sale

        • +1

A bit salty there? I got 5 things when I left, plenty of other things on sale that I saw as well. Not everyone who got to the sale are on ozbargain so you shouldn't go by the upvotes…

    • You clearly do not understand the term "Clearance Sale". It is clearance for a reason, of course stock will run out. That's what happens when you comment your thoughts at 3:50PM in the afternoon when this deal has been running since 9am this morning. What do you expect? Full shelves full of stock? Lol you're truly mistaken.

      • -7

Thanks for the enlightenment. There is a reason for my neg vote. I smell an organised fraud through this post !!

        • I smell a disgruntled share holder

        • +1

Why am I not surprised the ones who complain are the ones who posted zip for the community

        • "Expired/Out of Stock." is not a valid use of neg vote as per the voting guidelines. Also, what dleas have you posted?

        • waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

      • Problem is, the no stock reports (of the DSLRs, the main item in this post) were coming in by the truck load by 10-11AM, and it was sub-100 upvotes at the time. Yet, people kept on up voting despite there being no stock, and people that negged it gets negged into oblivion so that their negs are revoked.

        • +1

Depends where you live and what store you visit. Some will be more luckier than others, spare a thought for the future of dse and their workers rather than sympathizing with people who are being negged for being salty about not being able to secure a 'bargain'.

        • -2

          @watty:

This is site for bargains, and if a product is not available in sufficient quantities, then its not a bargain. The negs should have stood to highlight the fact of low/insufficient stock, and probably save a lot of people a lot of time by not calling/visiting all the DSEs in their neighbourhood.

        • +2

@garratt torlesse: But there was enough stock for a bargain, if you are going along the lines of not enough clearance stock to fill a shelf then ozbargain will be full of 'decent' priced goods with sufficient quantity (then what would be the point right?). If that was the case I would not visit this site any more! To be perfectly honest with you some people walked out with insane numbers of goods hence why stock is low (makes sense due to the existence of brodens - all of us have ying, yang and broden in us, face it).

If this deal wasn't posted I would have not grabbed a bargain on a couple of games. I understand you might have not been as lucky as others but it's first come first served.

Also, a phone call to your local store isn't that hard. You save yourself the time and there is no harm in it other than wasting credit. If that's your case have a peek at the mobile section we have on this site.

        • -3

          @watty:

It was a bargain at 9am, it was a bargain at 10 am. But by lunch, the key items (as listed in the title) were already out of stock, and up votes for it were no longer justified.

BTW. I was here when this was posted and making comments in the 2 other DSE related threads. So it ain't an issue about me missing the deal.

        • +1

@garratt torlesse: Could be people who went out to buy something coming back online to upvote. You just don't know what the fact is and every positive vote doesn't mean that person actually got something from the sale. I tend to upvote deals that I think are genuinely good even though I either decide not grab one for myself or it has been sold out or even marked as expired. If we started to neg everything for the smallest insignificant reasons then we are taking this too seriously. Look mate, at the end of the day it's just what it is, make your peace with it and move on. We can't win them all.

        • @watty:

Well, Ozbargain certainly have deteriorated over the years. People used to upvote actual bargains, instead of randomly hyping things up.

        • +2

          @garratt torlesse:

It is an actual bargain, $900+ camera for $400 is a bargain, plus many other items people have bought. Hence my + vote. I haven't bought anything but am allowed to + vote still because it is a good deal. I don't think OzB has changed, just your perception of deal.

        • +3

          @garratt torlesse:

I didn't realise bargains are time-restricted. So this was a bargain post at 9am, but that same mentality ceases at midday? Although, we're forgetting that midday AEST is 9am WST when the shops open.

Guys from work went to the local about 2hrs ago and grabbed some games, with heaps still left… still not a bargain then?

Why didn't you feel the need to up vote this post at the start of the day? Not a bargain enough for you?

And for someone who's last deal post was 12 months ago, I kinda don't actually care what you consider a bargain, or what you think about this site…!

        • +2

@garratt torlesse: For me the hype was real, got a neat haul so I'm not complaining which means I have justified my upvote. Can we leave it at that? (Because I am going to lol)

        • Cry my a river.

    • Comments like these make me laugh haha

    • Quick, someone get me my violin.

  • +11

I can confirm that dick smiths bourke st, melb has zero stock of 5ohm resistors.

I asked the guy behind the counter if they were expecting to get more stock in, and he quit.

    • +3

      zero resistance? :(

    • +2

Gee thanks for the tip do you think they would have any 244.8V 65 joule varistors in stock? My daughter asked if I could pick her up one on the wy home from work.

      • +3

She might have to settle for an equivalent flux capacitor.

      • +3

I was really amped up for a good comment, but I've resisted.

    • +2

it's because 5R is not a preferred value. Should design around 4R7 or 5R6. Better chance of stock then. Rookie…. :)

      • +1

Nominal 5ohms (5R1) IS a preferred value with super precision metal film E24 series resistors.
        Rookie.

        Ps we're both supervirgins.

    • Resistance is futile.

    • Lol…

      @damoo… you are gold…

  • I have no idea why this wasn't on the front page for me :( sigh

  • This is Melton Dick Smith pictures

    • Damn thats good. No stock anywhere around melbourne eastern suburbs.

    • Elder Scrolls and Civilisation Beyond Earth are good for $10 each.

  • I bought GTA5, UFC and Ryse for 20 each.

  • Is there going to be more deals every day until Saturday or does everything else start Saturday?

    • nobody knows….

  • if the camera's are all out then maybe remove, but guess some stores may still have stock.

  • The melton store had no cameras for sale FYI.

  • Have to wait and see keep an eye on your inbox. Will stores get any more camera stock? Or as clearance stock all gone. Will they magically find any more in the warehouse and post online?

  • Bought last Nikon D3200 twin lens from Launceston for $248 along with a Sony dsc-tx30 for $69 which is crazy, another dsc-tx30 left in cab along with a selection of good cameras excluding the canon 700d otherwise I would have bought it (was sold in the morning). About 40 console games for various consoles no gaming keyboards or mice left and no bargain consoles.

    Edit: this was at 2.30pm.

    • the tx30 is a great pocket camera, we have a tx9 from a few years ago, amazing hand held low light shots.

  • +2

saw a 6000mAh battery pack in a bargain bin @ $60…. how do they expect to compete with extortions like that, no wonder they're in trouble.

    • Just like copies of 5 year old PC games (SC2) for $50 that can be bought online for $13.

  • wheres the biggest dick smith store in sydney cbd? the one on george st opposite myer?

    • Yeah, although if you cross the road and go downstairs in the Westfield (Myer) there's another Dickies of similar size too.

  • In store price on Canon g7x?

    • Lol I doubt that'll be in clearance mate. But you missed out on a good ebay deal the other week. It was like $480 oz stock from TGG.

      • Just saw casey bugger!
Pity only Sony Rx100 Version 1?

  • +1

Went to Cockburn Gateway during my lunch break and pretty much everything had gone. Got a Nikon S02 for $29 - which will be perfect as a Christmas present for a child

    • So just to recap….
You thoroughly checked dicks at cockburn gateway and found something to give a child?

  • +1

Bought a few Xbox 360 games for $10 each. Disappointed to see later that most of them on Xbox Live Gold for $4.95 each.

  • FML, I have to work today. I could really do with a secondary DSLR. Fat chance there'd be any left tomorrow.

  • Does JB Hi fi offer price match for clearance stuffs from DSE? Anyone tried?

    • One lucky person manage to get price match for Nikon D5500 SLR KIT @ $450,
I managed to grab a copy of the receipt but was turn down at my local JB
      Going to try different store

      • I am afraid they dont do price match for clearance camera. but I could not found condition term anywhere

  • Anyone Else with a JB HI FI Receipt for Nikon D5500 SLR KIT?

  • Bought a Dualshock charging dock for $11, PS4 gold headset for $30, PS4 vertical stand for $3, PS4 eye camera for $20, pretty good haul, guy sniped the last dualshock 4 before I could get one for $30 though.

Not interested in a camera, even if its $300 underpriced.

    • PS4 headset was a bargain! damnit didnt even ask.

    • thats great going as the normal sony accessories are not meant to be part of this deal - controller should still be full price.

    • Got a picture of the receipt?
I scanned the camera, dock and controller and all were full price.

      • Yes i would like to see the reciept too as for the two stores i went to had them st full price

      • +2

        http://imgur.com/pYc1k5G

There you are. Scanning initially with no discount, had to argue because the sign said GAMING ACCESSORIES with no asterisk indicating Sony products weren't included.

        • Thanks

        • Tried to price match, no luck. Said all were way below cost, and best they could do on the charging dock was $35. Thanks anyway.

        • @unknown: Nobody will price match clearance sales, unless you get lucky.

    • No hardware was on sale at Woden ACT, apart from the stands, which were $9.

  • Anyone don't know what to buy you can go to the counter and ask them the brand name and see what is on special.

They have too many on special I think the Canon 7D is also on special and also a lot compact camera.

    • +1

Where is the 7d on sale?

      • Of course DSE, you just need to ask …..

The one I went to is warringah mall

I think is 7D not 7D Mark II.

        • Did you buy it?

        • @CVonC:

I am a noob no idea about camera but I could not resist and bought Canon 1100D twin lens for $199.
