K400 plus, 1/3rd lighter than k400r, 50% longer battery life, easier to find volume keys. Not as Cheap as some of the K400r deals but the weight and the better volume key placement did it for me.

lighter? how do they make it lighter without making it feel cheaper?
cant say the weight or battery life on the k400r has ever bothered me…but yeah, the volume keys are a definite plus on this model!
the dealbreaker for me is the tiny arrow keys tho…I really don't like the smaller arrow keys (which I use a lot on HTPC). so i'll stick with k400r.
have a feeling the little arrow keys will make them easier to find by touch in a dark room myself, tho i will admit the weight gets to hurting my pinkies sometimes (its how i hold it lol)
YMMV, but I actually find the opposite: on keyboards with half height up/down arrows (where the two keys are in-line with left/right) I really struggle to distinguish the arrows without looking. even on the keyboard i'm using now, a 10" laptop where ALL the arrows are tiny (half height of the rest of the keys, which are already reduced in size!), because the layout still has the up arrow physically above the others, I can instinctively feel the layout of the buttons, and have no problems hitting any direction without looking. my three fingers naturally find the home position on the left/up/right. I can't do that on a keyboard with an in-line up arrow like the K400 plus, even on keyboards where the keys are physically bigger! (it's the offset of the up key that's important)
but yeah, maybe that's just me! :)
It's not just you!
How come i cant do c&c
may have had low stock listed - they have updated it again
Save your money and get one of these.

Price match will see it a damn site cheaper than the Logitech.
I found the trackpad to be total shite on the Logitech so took it back and swapped for the Microsoft.Just sayin'.
compared the the newly released k400 plus its also 2/3rds heavier and a heck of a lot larger, and i havent tried the k400 plus yet but the k400r trackpad is just great, and personally i dont want more keys i wont use.
You could get the k400r cheaper than you can get the Microsoft too - but i didnt want that. Thats the point of posting this - it is a new model at a cheap price.
The K400r has also proven to be near indestructible, this one is literally glued together after being broken, 8 keys have lost their printing and even the rough plastic of the case and trackpad are worn smooth from use, and 2 of the metal key supports are missing (the joys of large dogs and children). I havent found the same with MS gear. I sure wont be switching.
+1 for office works. office works one has more multimedia keys on it too.
ive not had issues with the track pad. yes, its not the greatest, but its far from shite.
Very nice media keyboard indeed.
Good price.
