CXMASTECH

Hi all

Have been on the lookout for a telephoto lens for a while. Noticed this is on sale with the current eBay promotion. RRP is $1699 with 20% off and 3% cash rewards cashback is down to about $1299 by my calculation which is about $400 off. Not sure if this is a good price or whether it is a good lens as I dont own it, but others may be able to comment.

" Not sure if this is a good price or whether it is a good lens"

    Lol

  • Not sure if this is a good price or whether it is a good lens as I dont own it, but others may be able to comment.

Then why are you posting it?

    • reviews report it as being quite good, but i personally dont own it so i cant say from my own experience.

      • it's your honest expression of ignorance regarding this lens which is of concern.

maybe change the body content to something a tad more reassuring, like - "cheapest available on line. reviews read well for it"

eGlobaL Digital Cameras has it for $1377 delivered with code "BLACKFRIDAY"

        • it seems like a decent discount on a L lens. so i thought there may be some people who are looking out for it that may find this promotion appealing. eglobal is grey import whereas this is local warranty.

I have Canon and Nikon DSLRs and this lens is one of the reasons I don't put more money into Canons. On the Nikon side the 70-300VR is awesome at just over half the price. I ended up going with the Tamron 70-300VC on the Canons. Canon has got cheaper 70-300 and 75-300 lenses but they are total rubbish. The Tamron I have was priced right but I find focus is inconsistent, so I'm not thrilled with it. $1400 is a stupid amount to pay for 70-300 slow glass.

    • thanks for the comments.

    • This. There is no point wasting money on a lens like this.

  • the SIGMA AF 150-600mm 5-6.3 DG OS should be just over $1000 so a great price
