    Although older, isn't the Find 7A a better phone? It's cheaper at $319.20 plus cahsrewards.

      interesting… didn't know much about the Find 7a but i think you're right.

      specs-wise it's a little bit better at everything…
      but arguably the R7 looks nicer with the metal body?

      edit - actually i was looking at the specs for the find 7 not find 7a. The 7a is the cheaper/lower spec version.

      • it's a still a flagship level processor vs a mid range processor (albeit 64-bit)

        • Which is which? I know nothing about mobile CPUs

        • @snuke:
          R7 has a mid range processor Find 7a is flagship. However in daily usage unless you are playing heaps of games you probably wouldn't notice the difference. It's only when I multitask (particularly things like google maps) that I can see the value in getting a flagship but if it's just daily browsing it shouldn't be anything to write home about.

          @chriaj2689:
          Right, so better CPU, battery, wifi, but worse front facing camera. The Find 7a seems the much better phone if you're happy with the extra size.
          The Find 7a can also be changed to stock Android 5.1.1. - https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2408884&…

        • @snuke: I was looking at getting the Find 7a. In terms of value for money I think it's better but each to their own. I personally think that if you're going for a budget or mid range device Oppo isn't the best value option out there.

        • @chriaj2689:

          A friend was looking at one, I just purchased a S6 Edge Plus for myself.

  • R7 has a 2320 mAh Li-Po Battery (unremovable) - terrible even for a 5"

    • The Nexus 5 has a smaller battery, 2300mah.

      Then again, 'good battery life' was not one of the strong points of a Nexus 5, and so a 30mah improvement is probably only a drop in a Olympic sized swimming pool…
