16gb version Priced at 899 yuan, which converts to $140, £95 and AU$195

32gb / 3gb ram version: Redmi Note 3 with 3 GB RAM/ 32 GB storage will go for $172 USD or $238 AUD

dont buy this rip off which is over 100 dollars more

    • That being the price in China, but other sellers still have it for far less than 249.99

Any link where you get your prices?

    • While you will never get it close to that price, this price is quite high.
I was in China a couple of months ago and i couldnt get even the RRP on a Redmi note 2, you need to order it from Xiaomi for that.
Once its released and production ramps up the deals will come through, expect it to be under $300 delivered eventually.

  • Is it confirmed no sd card slot?

    • It wasn't mentioned, but quite a few sources have said it does have.

      • just on chat with geekbuying… They said yes it has one!

      • Love the metal finish and the finger scanner and 3GB of ram for $276 AUD with the Black Friday deal (GeekBuying) but the lack of a microSD card KILLS it for me. In this day and age, 32GB is just not enough.

        • which code do you use for that price?

        • It's enough for Apple users, the majority of whom have only 16GB.

        • @sintro: I believe it's BLACKNOV6

    • Geekbuying listed Not Available in their website specification

    Cheaper on Geekbuying

    http://www.geekbuying.com/item/Xiaomi-Redmi-Note-3-Pro-5-5-I… - 305AUD before shipped

  • Xiaomi announced new phone today and it's cheaper by $100

  • Is this that HElio x10 SOC?

What's the diff between the $150 and $250 versions? Is it just the extra 1GB ram?

Btw, why would you want a read fingerprint scanner? Why can't anyone do finger print scanners on the touch screen itself instead of on a button?

    • Because they can't…

    • The RAM is very important, hold out for a better price but get the 3GB version. I had the redmi note 2 with 2GB and it wasnt enough for solid performance.
Qualcomm are working on a finger print scanner that will work through glass, i expect to start seeing it within 6 months, but probably not on a Chinese SOC.

  • is this model screen tougher than other model xiaomi's?

  • When "Go To Deal", it says $149…

  • HI Guys, thanks for the pricing update.

Can one of the mods update the pricing … many thanks.

Chickenabodo thanks for the pricing update.

    • You can edit your own post. Can also report your own post to get the mods attention.

      • Don't change the price.
You have to choose a colour…choice of 2…..BOTH add $100 to the price.

        • Can you choose one without the premium colour?

        • @lostn: seems not

        • @adamp: That's dodgy. Why list $149.99 as the price if it's not possible to buy it at that price?

  • Is Redmi their budget range?

Their prices are so cheap, I don't know how they make any money.

they sold 6 million handsets in 100 or so days

      I have a redmi note 2…great phone….and only $211 delivered.
More interesting is how apple gets away with its pricing for a similarly specced phone

        Marketing.

Their phones sell on marketing alone.

    • Yes, so cheap that I might finally upgrade too!

Probably subsidised by the Chinese goverment with free back doors. (joke)

  • Was hoping for the Mi5 to be announced, wonder how it will be priced

    • Similar to 1+2 is my guess.

It will probably not have SD card slot or removable battery. They understand the flagship business it seems. Don't give people stuff if you don't have to. If you know they're going to buy it anyway, why not upsell them a 64GB?

I hope it will have a 1440p screen because that's one area they haven't been able to match the other flagships on.

      • Was looking at the Xperia Z5 but the Mi5 seems much better value and has a monster processor
