i found it a good stocking stuffer for a family member who is a trekkie.

  • This is the third of fourth time they've shilled this "limited edition" item.

As a trekkie myself I have to say this is about the collectable equivalent of a piece of cardboard that a militant 13 year old Star Wars fan has wriiten "Star Trek sucks" on.

    • agreed :)

    "limited run of 25,000"

that's like 24,500 more than demand

    • lol agreed.

  • what's up with OZbargain noobs?

you know who you are if you post items like these :D

  • I bought three of these for something like $2 each including shipping and even at that price I feel ripped off.

I get the feeling that there is a warehouse somewhere with these stacked to the ceiling and it's only a matter of time before they torch the place for the insurance. (making my three stamps worth a fortune!)

On the plug side, they do seem kinda gold-like and have a picture of Patrick Stewart in the presentation sleeve and are actually hand numbered.

Still, not worth the low grade paper they are printed on, even to a Star Trek fan.

EDIT: Oh dear Zeus, I just saw the RRP for these, $79.95?! Seriously?

  • To clarify the qlty and where these stamps come from. 25,000 of these were printed for St Vincent (The Country)to commemorate the final episode of Star Trek. We were lucky enough to get the last of the stock printed and have something "cool" for the Trekki fans.
Today is the last of the stock which we have and this item will not be sold again. If you notice on ebay and for collectors these stamps are worth US$50 area and do have a retail of $79.
This item is for the stamp collector/Trekki who would want a piece of the Star Trek History.

    • I saw an ebay auction for this, it was 99c with $4.95 shipping, and it got no bids.
      This item is fail.

I was thinking, can you use the stamp as a real stamp if you're in St Vincent?
Also, is there any value in the gold?

To the rep - you should contact the organisers of the Trek cons in the States (one for example in Las Vegas in August 2010)

I am sure if these are going to find a home it would be there!

    • Thanks Natt would love to but they are all gone!
