Ah damn, I bought a $29 telstra phone yesterday to use as a 3g hotspot from this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/219512#comment-3203759
And now here is a telstra 4g WiFi modem for $24.50 :( should have waited haha

    • It's $29.00 at Officeworks so you could do a price beat also.
Not sure if it comes with the 2gb data though.

      • Hi again :p

Tossing up between getting this one or look for another one that supports 3g 900mhz for future proofing in case I need to use Optus sim… decisions decisions :(

  • Optus LG Leon C50 4G $89

Over priced by 30~40$, will wait till boxing day.

    • Store stocks are low. They might be running them out.

  • The Telstra Sony E4g Black is still $99 until today from DSE and apparently Coles too but can't find link

Does anyone have a gsmarena link for the Ascend Y5?

  • Does anyone know if the "Telstra 4G Wifi Modem MF90 $24.50" have any bonus credit?

Looks like it comes with 2gb data and a 30 day expiry

  • I know these promos start tomorrow but does anyone have a link for the Optus 4g wifi modem and car kit on the DSE website?

    So…. Sony E4G / LG Leon C50 / Huawei Y5 / Huawei Y635…. which one?….which one? To used on Telstra & Optus after a visit from Bagman

Out of those if you want to work on Telstra and Optus, the Sony or LG would be the one to go for. As they have support for both 3G 850/900 bands.

Good review here for the Sony

      http://ausdroid.net/2015/10/15/sony-xperia-e4g-review/

The sony uses a significantly faster soc than other phones in this price range. Also gets a glass qHD screen which is pretty good for a budget phone. Mind you the Sony is usually priced at $149, so I suppose you expect it to be a level higher than LG, Huawei phones at this price range. Another amazing deal is the Optus locked Lumia 640 at $129 currently at Kmart.

  • Just saw these in a DS with the $89 price tag already up so could probably get them today. Also, they come with $20 Google Play credit if you activate the SIM before the stated date. (Some time in Feb 16 from memory)

  • The Y5 also Supports those bands & the Y635-L03 does as well. Though most are the Optus Y635-L02 versions going cheap. I think the Sony is the go. surely it will get a lollipop update? that all the others have

    • Sony promised to update it to Lollipop ages ago. I also read other sites suggest the E4g could get marshmallow. Though I wouldn't trust Sony or rumours.
