  • I was going to say how strange it is to see AMD on an SSD, but then again Intel have been doing it for years…

    • Intel have a reputation on their ssd..i highly doubt amd will come close

      • I agree especially after my experience with OCZ, or is it Toshiba that bought them?

edit: I see that is answered below

I agree too. I was never comparing the two.

Samsung, Intel and Crucial are the only brands I trust (in that order, well Samsung/Intel I trust equally).

EDIT: Oh and Sandisk probably in last position of trust.

If anyone is curious, this drive is designed and built by OCZ, using Toshiba NAND. Here's a link to AnnandTech's review, which puts its performance somewhere between the Arc 100 and the Vector 150. So it's okay, but nothing amazing.

      So it's just rebranded.

      • Yes, it's just a re-branded OCZ drive, although it's not an exact copy of any of OCZ's own products. The sticker on the back of the drive actually still has a OCZ logo, so it's not a big secret.

Wait…Since when do AMD do SSD's??

And why the hell is it "Radeon" branded?

    Dafuq is going on here?

No clue, when I saw the small excerpt in my RSS feed I thought it was a troll post or something.
Even more weird considering coz it carries the R7 naming as well!

    • Going by how their products are named, you can't escape the conclusion that AMD, Nvidia and Intel are deliberately trying to confuse their own customers…

    • They started making them when the R series of video cards came out I believe. They make RAM as well (maybe rebrands?): http://www.amd.com/en-us/products/memory/overview

    • AMD don't make SSDs themselves - this is an OCZ-built drive with AMD branding. No doubt it's Radeon branded because AMD want to leverage their well-recognised name in the industry to sell other products.

    • Wierd!
