I bought one then got refunded because of the stock availability.

On the other hand, i am actually quite surprised that this deal / camera had more "+" Vote than this Canon 1200D deal (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/208771). Is that because there's another $40 extra?

  One is more exciting than the other.
  
  The 1200D is a boring entry-level full-sized DSLR.
  The EOS M is a mostly decent compact-sized camera with the same image quality as the bulky, full-sized 1200D.

  Also 1200d plastic fantastic. M is alloy. M will take more of a beating.
  They're two completely different systems. Pro's and con's to each.
