Hi rep, Having bought one of both Xiaomi Piston II and III from you and being quite happy with everything, is there any possible deal on either or both cause I need another and others would appreciate as well.

Thanks and sorry for hijacking top comment.

      • +1

        That's OK.
Yes, as X'mas is coming, there will be lots of promotions on their ways.
        Piston II has been discontinued.
As a result, there won't be anymore promotions for them.
Piston III will definitely be on promotions.
There is a new earphone from Xiaomi as well:

We will post the promotion details for X'mas next week ;)

        • +1

Fair enough, but since I'm holding out for next weeks deal. I'll be expecting a deal or two on a piston.

          Cya, then.

        • Piston II has been discontinued.

Nooooo! I like the Piston II a lot more than the Piston III. Maybe I should stock up before everyone runs outs of stock.

        • +1

@gilbarc: The silver/white version of Piston 2 is still available on our website:
          http://www.mushtato.com.au/xiaomi-piston-2-1-beryllium-earph…
But very limited stock now :)

    • +4

      Dude, AU stock!

      • -5

Xiaomi never sells items in Australia. So no stock is AU stock. It's all grey import and warranty provided by the seller at their own risk. Xiaomi sells only in India, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan & Hong Kong. So when they talk about AU stock is just rubbish.

        • +8

          That is correct.
However, local sellers such us Mushtato provide GST invoice and hence 12 months local warranty.
Your purchase will be protected by Australian Consumer Law (2011).
PayPal has just extend their protection to 6 months.
It's still half of what you can get from us.
Besides, our fast shipping and professional after sales service are what other sellers cannot match ;)

        • +5

AU stock, meaning: stock in Australia

        • So when they talk about AU stock is just rubbish.

If you buy from an overseas seller and there's a fault, what do you do?

        • @eug: Contact them for a refund?

        • @tonyrulez: What do you do when they ask you to return the item for them to check? Australia Post do not send batteries overseas.

    • +3

youll get it after xmas though from BG

    • I just posted the another option and there is a negative vote. People are misusing the feature. Doesn't worry me.

First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.

      • +1

Competition is a good thing for customers.
You are welcome to compare Mushtato with any oversea sellers.
As long as you cover all advantage and disadvantage points and being objective, people won't think it's unfair :)

        • I just put another option. It depends on people what they want. I am ok if I am getting stuff after XMas. So comparison was only for product price not service.

I have no personal issue with anyone here or even with Mushtato. So it was not against anyone.

      • +1

I just posted the another option and there is a negative vote.

Did you forget the post where you said "So when they talk about AU stock is just rubbish."?

That clearly shows you don't know the difference between buying from banggood and buying locally to save $5. The condescending tone of your post didn't help you either.

And that is why you got negged.

        • +1

I think if it is just a couple of dollars difference, I think we as Ozbargainers should make it a stand to support the local businesses.

My first xiaomi powerbank was bought from Mushtato and they were really good in their service.

  • +5

Thanks TA, decent price for these. On a side note for the rep, I have a new logo design idea for Mushtato based on word association (it's what I think of anyway)…

  • Hello has anyone had a problem with claiming warranty with Mushtato?

I purchased one of the older 10400mAh powerbanks a while ago. However after a month or so the powerbank would not charge to full capacity and now it only lasts 1 hour when it's charged up to three lights (fourth does not turn on).

I emailed Mushtato and they keep giving me the run around telling me the power source is the problem. I usually charge my powerbank using an Apple duck head but after 3-4 days on charge it did not charge fully. Mushtato recommended I use a Belkin item and I do with one I have laying around. Same problem.

I have also tried multiple duck heads at work because I have access to plenty of them. The problem is still there and at this point I've given up on trying to claim warranty; I might just get another Sony which has been hella reliable.

    • PM Mushtato or FB them. I didn't get a run around.

    • -2

      Thank you for your sharing.
Base on your description, the item itself seems functional.
The only problem is while it's reaching the forth LED, your charger cannot provide enough power.
It happens all the time to mobile phone chargers.
We recommend our customers to recharge Xiaomi Power Banks by tablet wall charger with 5.0V and 2.0A power output.
We have so many return cases that claim the power bank cannot be fully recharged and/or recharger really slow.
After receive back and recharge them using our tablet wall charger, 90% of them are fully recharged in expected timeframe.
Customer wastes time and money, we then need to send it back to them.
For good will, when these kind of issues accord, our staff will try to remotely resolve the issue.
Please understand in order to understand and identify the issue, we need to communicate with customer.
If customer is patient and cooperated, in most cases we can help customer resolve issue remotely.
Otherwise, we will establish a return case and test the unit when we receive it back.
If item is not fault, we then send it back.

      • "I purchased one of the older 10400mAh powerbanks a while ago. However after a month or so the powerbank would not charge to full capacity and now it only lasts 1 hour when it's charged up to three lights"

Even at 75% thats 7800 mAH and even with a 70% efficiency thats 5460mAh. Charging any phone should last more than 1 hour.

So either way, based on his story. Its faulty. Cant see how CS can see it as a wall plug problem

        • -1

If the 3rd LED light is flashing while it's charging, it indicates the power is at 50~75%.
          That means it's at 5200mAh ~ 7800mAh.
          With 70% conversion rate you have 3640mAh ~ 5460mAh.
That's about one full recharge of a iPhone 6 plus or iPad.
Depends on what you are doing with your device while it's charging up, by playing movie/sound/game at the same time, 1 hour seems within range :)

        • @mushtato:

mm okay fair point. but any old charger should get it pass 75%. Just saying. I use a USB port and i can charge it to 75%. oh and this is a standard 500amp port

        • +1

@shadow131: 500amp?!? how is it not on fire?

Seriously though, 500mA is nothing and you should use 2A, makes every day charging so much faster!

        • @Woodyg22:
          haha my bad.

I do use 2A at home. Just when im out, My uni has standard ports build into the table. So i charge it while im in class. Standard port is 500

        • @mushtato: I think you're missing his point - that it did charge fully - on a bunch of different chargers - now it doesn't - on any of them. It's hardly likely every single charger became faulty at exactly the same time. The only common factor is the unit itself.

      • +1

Base on your description, the item itself seems functional.
The only problem is while it's reaching the forth LED, your charger cannot provide enough power.

They all output 5v, the charging rate does not determine if it will reach total capacity.

        Replace his faulty unit.

        Pretty awful customer service.

Xiaomi official website in China sell this item at 129RMB=AUD$28.60
Makes you wonder the shipping + tax + eBay fees + PayPal fees = $0.00?
      Take your own risk ;)

    • cheaper on ebay
      also local stock

And no way to check it's authenticity!

"Note: This power bank is licensed By Xiaomi which is a cost-effective export products. Our company is responsible for the Global sales and after-sales.Please note the difference between the Original domestic Xiaomi Power Bank, this model for sale abroad ,so there is no Chinese Bar Code."

      • +4

        They are selling fake copies.
It has been reported to Xiaomi head office.
        The official Xiaomi reply clears:
        1. They've never authorized anyone for Global sales.
        2. All Xiaomi Power Banks comes with 20-digits authentication code. It can be verified from Xiaomi official website: mi.com
There is no such thing as "sale abroad, so there is no Chinese Bar Code"

Anyone can contact Xiaomi directly if you think someone is selling fake products.
They go hard on these things :)

Was hoping for a piston 3 add-on deal along with this, any chance Rep?

    • +1

let me know too, keen on a deal like this. :)

      • Since rep doesnt seem keen i'm gonna go with geekbuying,

        powerbank $30.59 - http://www.geekbuying.com/item/XIAOMI-Original-5V-3-6A-2A-16…
        Piston 3 youth edition - $13.10 - http://www.geekbuying.com/item/New-Original-Xiaomi-Piston-II…

plus $9.23 for TNT 3-5 day shipping

        = $21.98 saving

        • nice, i was leaning more towards banggood with the coupon codes and the free shipping.
          thanks for your suggestions

        • Piston 3 Youth Edition I think was "budget" version of Piston 3 though.

        • @Oversimplified: Yes, they are.
People usually confuses and think that's the regular Piston 3 Earphones.
          Well, no.
          They are different.
          Xiaomi Piston 3 Earphones - Official price: RMB 99 = AUD$21.76
Xiaomi Piston 3 Youth Edition - Official price: RMB 29= AUD$6.37

          Hope these information helps :)

  • Maybe dumb question but do these come with the right cables to charge an Iphone 5 or do I need buy any of the listed lightning cables or adaptors?

    • Thank you for your enquiry.
      That's a very common question.
All Xiaomi Power Banks come with a 10~12cm Micro USB to USB recharge cable.
You can use it to recharge this item from USB power source.
(Recommend to use tablet wall chargers)
If you have a Android phone, you can use this cable charge up your phone using this power bank.
If you are using iPhone/iPad/other devices, you can use the genuine cable of your device to connect them.
      E.g. Lightning cable

  • you got to work harder TA, where's the cashreward logo? (joking) - good deal by the way

Thanks for pointing it out :)

Is there a standalone deal for the 5000mAh one coming?

  • +1

mushtato is good seller, but the price is a bit higher… i wouldnt mind for 30 bucks though…

    • If AU dollar exchange rate can pull up next year, we will provide better pricing.
This year, AU dollar has been dropping like nobody ever cares :\

  • Any plan to sell Xiaomi phones?

    • +2

      Not yet.
But we are working on it ;)

  • Does this come with Type c charger for the new Nexus 6p

    • It comes with a 10~12cm Micro USB to USB recharge cable.
You can use it to recharge the device.
To charge up Nexus 6P, you can use the original charging cable of your phone :)

  • bugger! just bought this 2 days ago.

This is AU local stock, price included GST. Fast shipping and genuine 12 month Australia warranty.

    • mate… dont even bothered buying stuff from bangood…. took them 2 months or more to delive the product.. if i were u.. i will pay another 5 bucks and get it from Mushtato….

      justmy2cents

  • Mushtato, bought from you guys before. Fantastic service.

Is it possible to add 5pcs of the 16000mah and just add 1pc of the 5000mah?

    • Thank you of supporting Mushtato.
      Yes, you can.
Here is how you can do that.
      1. Add 4 units of 16000mAh into your shopping cart.
      2. Go back to product page, tick the box of 5000mAh.
      3. Now add one more unit into your shopping cart
      4. Select your payment option and check out

  • I have zero knowledge of these gadgets. Do any of these charge a MacBook Air away from a power source?

    • This item can be used to charge up mobile phones, tablets and any devices with 5.0V input voltage.
      MacBook Air is not within.

  • Any chance of a deal on the Xiaomi Yi action camera? Going overseas in two weeks, and would love to take one with me.

    • Those are on schedule for X'mas promotions.

      www.facebook.com/Mushtato.com.au
We will post the promotion details for X'mas next week :)

      • Fingers crossed they go on sale before I leave then!

  • +1

This is sneaky marketing, "Rated Capacity: 3.75V/16000mAh".

The mAh rating should be listed for the output voltage of 5V.

At 85% DC-DC converter efficiency (typical) and an output of 5V this is likely to only be about 10,000mAh.

    • +1

Thank you for pointing out the "At least 10000mAh Actual output capacity" in our listing.
It has become an industrial standard that all battery companies only states the rated capacity.
Officially, this product is called Xiaomi 16000mAh Portable Power Bank.
It will be very confusing if we change the title :\

    • Ahh good pickup, I always assumed that the stated capacity was with respect to a 5V output.

Guess not, I'll be more aware from now on!

    • My genuine one gave 10,475mAh.
More details here with a quick comparison to a fake one.

The 3.6/5V ratings are a little similar to how hard disk manufacturers count 1TB = 1000GB.

  • Hey Rep,

I am after the Piston 2.0's to go with my 3. Any chance of a deal for the older spec? I keep reading about the great reviews here on the older version. I could use an additional set of ear phones.

  • +1

I have purchased one of these previously. Can confirm they're great. However, you're not going to want to carry it around in your pocket - it's a bit big. Go for one of the smaller units (both in capacity and physical size). This thing will charge two devices for a day, or happily keep your phone going all weekend.

    • Thank you for sharing your experience.
16000mAh version is an excellent choice for heavy phone user, tablet user or if you are going for a trip.
It is quite handy to have one with you if you cannot access to a power point.
For daily use, 10000mAh and 5000mAh are also a good choices as they are lighter and easy to carry.

  • I've ordered and a while later it says it's already posted - very impressed!

However I haven't received an email confirming my order… I like to keep those for future reference, warranties etc. How do I go about sorting this out?

    • Kindly check the spams mails :)

      • I use Gmail, if it was anywhere it would come up in search. It was definitely not received.

  • These guys www.mushtato.com.au are the real deal.

Ordered from them before from a previous Ozbargain thread.

Got my genuine Xiaomi battery pack within two days.

Support email inquire's are promptly answered as well.

    • Thanks for supporting local AU business. mate, it's really not easy to compare with all these oversea sellers… as you can see :)

  • I'm travelling to Vietnam using Vietnam airlines - will the 16000mah or 5000mah power banks be permitted to be carried onboard? Are powerbanks/laptops permitted in checked baggage?

    • +1

      Yes, they are permitted.

  • Just bought one..because a theft broke into my car and stole the previous one…

  • +1

Rep, is there any chance to reactivate this deal again (or in the near future) as I have just realised that I missed this deal.

I would buy 2 of these and hook it up to a Gopro for shooting time-lapse video :-)

    • +1

I agree! I missed it too! Could we please have this deal again or extend the deal for another day?
      Thank you!

  • +2

Damn… Just missed this offer by 40mins!… any chance you'll let one more order through?
