  Used them for 1st time with their 15% off deal a while back.
  Normally use Travel insurance direct.
  Unfortunately had to make my 1st claim ever due to ear infection and they were great.
  Slightly lost money on the currency conversion aspect of my claim but not much really. Dealt with my claim in timely manner and I'd used them again. No excess on medical claims also good.

  Thanks OP.. Southern Cross considers a 18 year old kid as Adult and requires a second insurance if travelling with a family of 2 adults, whilst most insurance cover upto 21.. poor!

  I used them once before and my camera died on holiday - they were excellent to deal with. Approved the next day and paid within a week.
  However, I don't think they cover domestic delays when going overseas, so I usually use Travel Insurance Direct.

    Do you mean domestic connections within Australia prior to travel or domestic within the country you're visiting?

      Within Australia. I live in Tassie so I'm always at the mercy of an internal flight, often with a different carrier from my overseas one. I was once held up by 5 hours and only juuuust scraped through to my o/s flight. Luckily I always allow plenty of time between connections!

        Thanks for that, I've got a flight booked that is code share with only a three hour gap between the domestic flight and the following international so maybe I'll book insurance with someone else just in case.

  Used these guys forever and recently had my first claim when we had to come back to Australia from Europe because at short notice. Everything was refunded, customer service impeccable, cannot recommend them enough.
