  • How big are the portions at Oporto? Comparable to red rooster?

They are a little bit smaller. I had one of these deals yesterday and it wasn't too bad. You don't get many chips, it's a small bag like Maccas/HJ's small chips. The size of the chicken was acceptable, but even Red Rooster seems to be getting smaller these days too.

    • Portions in Australia are a joke, no matter where you go.
America has great potion sizes for half or quarter of our prices, let alone mentioning customer service standards comparing America and here.

      • I find Australian customer service to be a tonne better than that of the US.

        • I disagree. In the US they know if their customer service isn't up to scratch their tip wont be good so they usually go the extra mile.

        • @chriskq: "Customer Service" is any front facing role, and not just limited to restaurants. Fast food chains, retail stores, public transport officials, information help desk personnel etc which don't require any tipping have worse customer service in the US than we have here in Australia.

        • @justcallmeboss: Yep figured that…. i just got back from a 2 week holiday to Hawaii and Waikiki and was impressed with all the service we got. Of course everyones going to have different opinions depending on industry, location, personal demeanor etc….

@chriskq: Ah fair enough. I have only been to the continental US a few times, Hawaii looks nice!

@justcallmeboss: With the jetstar sales it was only 1200 return for 2 people including taxes etc - $300 one way pp was too hard to knock back. Obviously our dollar is pretty lousy but still got some bargains when shopping, but eating out was more pricey - although i did make use of the Red Lobster bottomless shrimp plates garlic shrimp - drools

        • @chriskq: haha too good! Unfortunately I live in the West so going to Hawaii is more expensive :(
However I'm flying to New York in 2 days :D

@justcallmeboss: Hitup Century 21 for shopping. If you buy anything from Macys show your passport and you will get a further discount. Go into any small deli and get a Turkey or Ruben sandwich and be amazed at how much sliced meat they add. Enjoy your trip!

@chriskq: haha my 4th time to New York in 2 years! I have a Macy's card (discounts) but didn't realise a passport also gives you a discount! Thank you for the tips, will try this sandwich :)
