Remember to first try the Hungry Jacks Shake and Win App. You may even win a free large coke !!

      • +1

That hungry jacks app has been good to me. Three times used (never used it before as i dont live near a HJ) - 2 free fries & 1 free bacon deluxe burger ..!!!heheh.

        • +5

same. every week i get at least 3 bacon delux, 6 free cokes and/or chips and always use the free cheese burger survey

Use the app on 2 phones

          love my free meals :)

          @easternculture: Whats the cheeseburger survey??

          Edit - Found it.

        • @easternculture:
9 out of 14 (2 phones over 7 days)? that's really a good winning rate. did you hack the app :)

        • @st.anger:

No. There is a pattern when they allocate the prizes. Ive worked out ~ 25% of it

        • @easternculture: Yup have to remember those surveys. Sounds like you have most of your meals for the week worked out ;).

        • @easternculture:

No. There is a pattern when they allocate the prizes. Ive worked out ~ 25% of it

Are you saying it's time based?

  • I wonder why no WA or SA.

    • -2

Because they are lucky not to eat this crap ?

    • +2

i wonder why that about many deals…….. LOOKING AT YOU WOOLWORTHS

      • I really could have used that eBay voucher.
        Not really haha.

    • IIRC the Shahins own Oporto's in SA. Explains we're missing out on deals here for this and KK.

I drove past Oporto in South Perth yesterday and they had a $5 lunch deal, I think it was a quarter chicken and something, but I didn't pay too much attention.

Possibly similar to the Red Rooster quarter chicken & chips for $5 lunch deal thing?

    • I know in Joondalup shopping centre at least, they had a $5 deal which included a wrap and chips.

Although that was a few weeks back, wouldn't surprise me if still valid with this current deal active.

  • Im confused

    • yes

But if you have forgotten you wallet at home and only have your mobile phone

Lol, who does that. I wouldn't even be able to get into work without my wallet. Would have to go back home to get it.

Who use a wallet these day? My phone cover double up as a wallet.

      • +1

lol same until i lost my phone/wallet.

Why just lose your phone when you can lose your wallet as well? xd

I bought this burger once - the chicken fillet is so small/thin that it's a waste of time. Never been back to Oporto since.

    • +1

Not to mention how deceivingly large the burgers look on the menu.

  • Anyone have trouble claiming the Oporto $5 credit? The last post in the link suggested some stores may require credit on one's account or something rather.

    • Their wraps are where is at.

    • nope, ask them scan the barcode from your phone app

      • Thanks!

      • Failed. I tried to buy 2 for $10 but the barcode gave some transaction error. She also tried the barcode with an ordinary meal and the same error (unless she didn't add $10 or more).

  • That HJ app doesn't work on my Iphone 6 Plus. Anyone got it to work?

I assume Oporto is amazing (hence my vote) in the East cause here in the West it is easily the worst fast food I've had and I'm including those dried out burgers from roadhouse and cafe bain maries that have been sitting there all day

    • Oporto is gewd. The grilled chicken and chilli is a match made in heaven.

I only have it once a year, though. Gotta avoid the fast food.

      • agreed, bondi burgers (the one with 3x chicken) and hot sauce is mmmm good

    • +1

Its nothing special at all, but it used to be much better 5-10 years ago, before they changed the chili to the weak one they use today. The chicken is also often dry and very small fillets for the cost of their burgers.

  • +2

Just a heads up they changed the $5 coupon to minimum purchase of $10…so you can get 2 for $5 nor free ;)

  • -1

the coupon is now $10 minimum spend. So your order has to be at least $15 before coupon to qualify. The OP should update the post

    • +1

Your order only need to be $10 not $15.

  • From what I can tell, this company is suffering from the "incredible shrinking burger" phenomenon that maccas suffers from.

Thank goodness they said we have low inflation!

From what I can tell, this company is suffering from the "incredible shrinking burger" phenomenon that maccas suffers from.

You sure you're not suffering from the "incredible expanding eater" phenomenon?

  • anyone know if they allow alterations to the deal? ie. can i pay the standard $2 or whatever to upsize the burger?

  • Link didn't work for me. Had to go to home page to view deal and unlock link.
I assume you can ask for the Bondi burger without chili sauce?

    http://www.oporto.com.au/

    • +1

Sure, but most people go to Oporto for the chili. The burgers are incredibly bland without it. If its spice your worried about, dont be because its not hot at all.

  • 10 nuggets and $1 frozen at Hungry jacks…

  • I like opporto but every place in VIC has closed except QV that I know of. And QV isn't close to me.

    • Isn't there one at MC and Chadstone?

      • Nope, Chadstone closed down.

Not sure what MC is. Melb Central? That's the same distance to me as QV, which is about half a km apart.

    • Westfield and mc

      • Westfield Southland Oporto closed down ages ago, as have Knox.

        • I meant Westfield Doncaster :-)

        • @Baebs: Dunno about that. Maybe they're around. I'm in SE suburbs so that's beyond my reach.

  • From what I could tell normal cost is $11.80

    1 x Fillet Bondi (Single) $7.90
    1 x Chips (Small) $3.90

    • Not really a fair comparison. Think it's cheaper to buy a small 'meal' (with a drink) than separately like that.

      • Examples please. Can't find the combo meal deal prices listed anywhere for comparison.

        • $9.95 will get you a single fillet burger, drink, chicken bite, rice/coleslaw/potato&gravy and chips.

        • @OzJD: That's actually pretty good value. Last time I went to Oporto they didn't have meal deals with that much stuff in it, though it was a few dollars cheaper.

        • @lostn: I preferred the wings (still in some stores)

  • Just went to their Sydney central store and they wouldn't honour it. Said they're not participating in it

  • The triple fillet burger is tiny. I can't even imagine how small a single would be! I'd dare say the equivalent chicken content of 2 chicken nuggets maximum.

  • There is always a catch when choosing their promotional deals, they use a smaller burger with these as opposed to the regular priced meals;

  • There was no advertising at Fox Studios. Newbies at the register will have to check the system. Keep your Facebook promo ready.

  • They denied me the deal at pacific fair, GC, Queensland. Said it's because they are a private Oporto.

    • Scum bag franchisees who happily take the advertising but won't pull their weight for promotions.

      • Yeah I reckon.

    • Also got denied at bondi store, nsw

  • Just got 2 x $5 meals at oportos double bay. When i said can i please have 2 $5 meals the cashier did say 'oh i think that promotion has finished'. I then showed him the promo image from the facebook which doesnt actually show the expiry date, and i said pretty sure the promotion is still on. He then magically punch into the register something and said no worries.

tad awkward but got there in the end. Obviously a pretty small lunch, but i've got an early dinner

  • I think this deal might be over. All the signage today was removed from my local.
