BigW has a 216 headset plus the game for $88 and i can confirm it is indeed a 216 dollar head set as mine arrived today and my friend had bought his from Jb a month ago

    I think it's a decent enough deal, EB games were selling them for $99 a while back. But a common complaint was a low quality mic.

    Great headset, fantastic sound.. Especially useful when wanting to hear for footsteps in a direction or locating a mask in Far Cry 4 by the sound… Standard chat mic isn't too bad but Polk will send you an upgraded adaptor microphone free of charge due to the complaints they received and being a premium brand, I got that and it made things 10 times better..

        G'day Jezza, took me awhile after contacting Polk directly but I eventually got passed to the Australian distributor for Polk which is "allinteractive".. When I did it I emailed this bloke - [email protected] .. This was from June 2014 but I believe they still honour this for their product which is still on sale and bought brand new. I picked up my Polk headset for $58 from Big W early 2014 so they didn't drop the price to drop their responsibility.. It's called a boom mic adaptor, good luck!

          @RickyCruise: The reviews about the poor mic quality were holding me back from this headset, so that's good to know they can provide a better mic. Ill give it a shot, thanks for sharing Ricky.

          With Audio Technica/Sennheiser you are better off getting one of their non-gaming branded ones as there is markup on them and they aren't nearly as good as the equivalent non-gaming ones then just buy a mic to clip on like the zalman and a cheap joining cable for the mic/headset into one 3.5mm from ebay.

          @Agret: normally yes but that audio technica is based off the ATH-A700X which is the same price as the headset atm, im not sure about the exact driver the sennheiser uses but it also holds alot of value at its current price. They are both on sale at pccg - cheaper than amazon.

          @Jarr0d: Oh right I didn't click the link, didn't realise it was sale pricing. Yeah for that price they are a good buy for sure. At their regular price they are way overpriced. You'll find niche lines of product usually hold their price but it doesn't mean they are worthwhile purchases, that's the whole basis of a bargain after all ;) it's the same reason beats are still so expensive even though they are much worse than headphones that cost half their price. Shame they don't also have Audio Technica ATH-ADG1 on sale =(

          @Agret: I picked up the ADG1 a couple days ago from random site for $179 shipped. THey are now out of stock otherwise I would have posted on Ozbargins.

          I was planning on getting the ad700x/900x and adding a zalmans until I found that price.

          One thing people are saying is the Mic on the AG series is really good. As good if not better than the Mod Mic. Which is $60-80 in Aus. So if you manage to find the ADG1 on sale somewhere its a good buy, full price no way.

          Audio technica hit it out of the park with their headset though for sure.

    got it for $88 with forza horizons about 3-4 months ago. Headset is good but mic is ok. Also comes with the controller adapter too which is $40 alone.

    note: these all come with the new boom mic adapter. I got one a few months ago. Also comes with the controller adapter too which is $40 alone. quality is good and price is great especially if you want the game it comes with.

    I just bought it for the game Forza and the adapter alone! Don't really care about the headset but it doesn't hurt to have a spare one around the house!

    Not sure if everyone is aware but BigW is not actually the seller here, just a middleman. for any after sales support you will have to deal with Movies and Games Plus https://www.bigw.com.au/partners/Movies%20and%20Games%20Plus

    So for example even if you pick up the item from the store you cannot return it to the store but will have to send it to M&G plus at your cost plus extra amount to cover the initial 'free' postage.

        I have been searching and apparently the headphones will work with the PS4 wired when connecting the 3.5mm headphone jack into the PS4 controller. However the wireless function won't work.

    I don't know what edition these are - but make sure that if they're first gen, you get the free boom mic extension (as there were issues with the microphone).

    Mine arrived yesterday. Came with the boom mic as promised. Have to admit, it is fantastic. Sound quality is amazing, comfortable as hell and set up took me about two minutes and that includes the update. Was playing Phantom Pain with them on and it took immersion to the next level. I was setting up an ambush and could hear footsteps from behind, setting up an ambush on me. Best $88 I've spent in a long time.

    Not too sure if this will help anyone but I decided to check the Big W store at about 6AM and noticed they were in stock again. I must have purchased the last one (and it has been dispatched) but checking every once in a while might be worth it to see if it comes back in stock again! Might get lucky :)
