Michelle Bridges Vanilla Protein Blend 350g - $5 (Normally $40) @ Chemist Warehouse

220

This is a knock-out deal for Protein lovers. The Michelle Bridges 350g protein is usually $40 retail price online and in store at woolies but I managed to grab a deal of 2 x 350g packets of this protein powder for $10 only at Chemist warehouse in Leichhardt. If you buy one packet, it is still $10. Not sure if this offer is only available at the Leichhardt chemist warehouse or all their stores. The stock was almost gone due to the great discount but there were still few left.

Just buy some protein isolate and it will do the same thing but much cheaper.

    • +8

Thanks Circly, I understand that isolate is derived from whey (dairy). This deal refers to the protein powder which is vegan and suitable for lactose intolerant user. cheers

      • I stand corrected! Didn't know it was a vegan/lactose friendly protein powder.

    • Incorrect.

If you look at the nutritional profile, its actually quite similar to WPC @ 75.6g protein per 100g, Venom WPC being @ 76.9g/100g and Bulk nutrients @ 76.5g/100g. I took venom and BN cause they are generally the cheapest per gram. WPI being more expensive product for more protein concentration.

Here is a break down for you by price per gram of protein.

      Michelle Bridges @ 2x350g for $10 - $0.0189/g
      Venom WPC @ 1kg for $27 - $0.0351/g
      Bulk Nutrients @ 1kg for $27 - $0.0353/g
      Venom WPC @ 5kg for $99 - $0.0257/g
      Bulk Nutrients @ 5kg for $99 - $0.02588/g
      Venom WPI @ 5kg for $148 - $0.0337/g

So its actually a pretty good deal. 26% saving over the closest price competitor.

You're still comparing a plant based protein to milk derived protein???

Edit: And your numbers are screwy anyway!

        • +6

Why cant I compare if all I want is protein?

          whats wrong with numbers?

        • @phocus: Sorry I was half asleep and misread your post. I thought you were replying to chin, when in actual fact you were replying to Circly. I retract!

      • +1

Cool, thanks for the analysis. At full price it's the most expensive.:)
But hey a girls gotta hustle.

      • Ahh a person after my own heart, I recently did the price breakdown on Bulk Nutrients WPC to determine the best value.

15kg is where they stop discounting per kilo, so for 15 kg delivered it's $286, you then get a free product generally worth over $20 (this month is only free shipping so $7)

So if you buy it that way it's $0.019/g and you can choose 6 different 2.5kg bags to vary the flavours.

Wow, the markup on this stuff is phenomenal. +1 to you OP for the price drop but might I suggest for Ozbargaining vegans the Pea Protein Isolate from Venom starting @ $24/kg (cheaper still for bulk) or the Earth Protein from Bulk Nutrients http://www.bulknutrients.com.au/products/earth-protein-vegan…

Probably go the Bulk nutrients over the venom, for the increased amino acid profile from Rice+Pea as opposed to just Pea.

    • Thanks Tafe. I am a regular and dedicated Bulk Nutrients Earth protein user however, I found this deal to be better this time only because Bulk Nutrients has to be ordered online and comes with the Shipping fees.

Also this protein is for ladies only.
So if you skip legs days often or cross fit, this is for you.

MB products always seem to be reduced to clear.

    • +1

      I've noticed that was well

    • I came here to say the same. Cupboard is full of it at home. Time to make room for this!
      That said, I'm a meatlover… so I have a problem with too-much protein already :D

      • whey too much brotein..

  • +1

Strange it is showing as $9.99 save $30.00

    • HI Fixit
It shows $10 online but the store in Leichhardt had an instore promotion of 2 for $10. That is why I am not sure if it is true for all stores or just the one in Leichhardt?

  • anyone confirm on other stores?

    • +1

There are no Michelle Bridges branded products at the St. Mary's (Adelaide) store.

  • +2

Spotted it at Ashgrove (QLD) for the same price as the OP, 2 for $10, has a sticker on all the MB stuff at this price. I got a couple of containers but they now only have 1 chocolate remaining and no more in stock.

    • +1

Also in Belmont WA, I grabbed a few, all the MB was 2 for $10 as well. Thanks to the OP

  • +1

I bought the last 11 cans in hornsby branch, nice price! 2 for $10!

  • +2

It's cheap because the ancient grains are well past use by date

    • +1

Yes, I hear they're old. Ancient even.

  • +1

Thanks OP. The old lady bought 14 tubs from Marsden, Qld store. They had chocolate too.
Now she's got no excuse not to work out, haha. I told her when she doesn't feel like it just think "what would Michelle do".

  • only has vanilla flavour at castle hill.
only bought 2, still has a dozen left. want the chocolate flavour.

    • They had some chocolate flavour left at pennant hills. I grabbed 8 boxes yesterday a mix of Vanilla and Chocolate

  • Can I still mix it with gluten?

  • Cheap protein powder, thanks OP. I bought a few at Maroubra with best before Jul 2016 dates after which there were only 3 left with best before May 2016.

  • Burwood road in the main drag sold out long ago.

  • People still think Venom protein is good? Yes it had the same macro breakdown but the bioavilability (ie how well it absorbs into the body) is terrible compared to other brands. You're not really getting a deal if your body doesn't actually used the product.
