With lots of competition coming out from companies like TPG with their rebranding, I've been keeping an eye on phone plans to see if anything good came up.
I believe this is arguably one of the best plans around at the moment at its price point - major let down is the 12-month contract. Especially, as plans at this price point are getting more and more competitive.
Details as follows.

$40/month, SIM only, 12-month contract
Half price access fees for the first month ($20 for first month - offer expires 24/11/15, conditions)
5GB 4G Data (3GB + 2GB bonus. Offer for bonus data expires 26/01/16)
Unlimited data for the first two months (offer expires 31/12/15) conditions
Unlimited Calls and Texts
90 Standard Intl minutes to select countries
Share with another Voda plan for a bonus 500mb data for the life of the plan conditions
Roaming for $5/day (offer expires 01/12/16) conditions
Data billed per kb. Additional data is automatically added at $10 per GB ($0.01/MB).
Critical Information Summary

Coverage probably isn't as good as Optus, but there should be no issues in metro areas.

No deal, it was $50/month with 10gb month-to-month, last month though.

    • Darn, didn't see it last month. Was it on their site? I got a $30 for 8GB data with Voda at the moment. wanting to add voice to it.

  • Kogan, whilst only 3G until 2016, is almost $100 cheaper over the course of a year:

    Has no international included though.

In my area south of river in perth, Vodafone are not worth using for free. 2 to 5 minutes for a webpage to start to load regularly? Weekends are always much worse.
That's VODAFAIL folks. 20 more days and it's back to Telstra.

    • Why all the negative votes? Vodafone is terrible in many areas of Perth. Even in Vic Park (next to the city), there are terrible black-spots.

Its similar with every telco. Optus is crap in my area. Vodafone coverage is very good

        • Vodafone have the worst coverage, and lowest customer satisfaction rating according to the information here

  • Any bargains?

  • it would appear not…

  • " Additional data is automatically added"

how sweet, but I do this elsewhere,
and built up a good bank. :>
    +=~250 idd mins/ ±skype 300 mins int.

Too little too late.. . and see you in Feb~
PS: not having to read the tacky word "bonus" for a while shall be a relief.

  • Telstra's $50 BYO seems better - 5.5GB, 12 mo Apple Music (makes up for the extra $10), though only $1k calls and no international.

  • Voda $35 month to month plan deal with 300 intl min and 4gb data was better than this one..but still not bad.

    • Locked in contract with vodafone = very bad

Even with a contract if its no good in your area can pull the plug and only pay for what you used within the first 30 days as per vodafone network guarantee. But i agree 100% SIM only or prepaid type promo's are the way to go for most of us!!

FWIW not sure it's that well known or not but the plan just above this i believe has infinite IDD calls to 10 countries included (in addition to more data, 90mins IDD to other countries etc). Not sure how it compares to say Lebara etc for overall value but may be worth considering if you call overseas a lot.

    • any url for specific plan you mentioned?
cant find any voda plan with 300 intl min, only can see 90 free min.

  • Also 12 mth binding not attractive

Deal is now 6gb instead of 5gb for $40 per month.
