Thought it was a good deal but Please put links below in the comments if you find any cheaper price somewhere. I haven't bought this phone yet and waiting for your feed back. I am currently using OnePlus One and thinking about replacing this phone , didn't like one plus two, nexus 6P is out of my budget and 5X specs didn't satisfy me.

Weird choice to use the Snapdragon 801 in a new phone.

    • It's still a great SoC, and avoids any of the issues the new generation of Qualcomm SoCs have.

      • Nah.. the 805 is quicker and doesnt have the overheating issues like the 810. Even the 808 is a better choice but those later ones may jack up the price.

        • True actually, I always forget about the 805 (mainly because barely any OEMs used it). 808 is a terrible choice IMO, it has heating issues of it's own, and lacks higher end features (it was designed as a more mid range chip)

        • Its hardly quicker in the CPU, its basically an 801 with a better GPU and wider memory bus for higher resolution.
Its really only made for 2.5k screens.
Its also pretty expensive which doesnt meet the price point of this phone.

        • @Danthemanz:
Most of the latest Mediateks (X10/6752/6753) will beat the 801 (and even the 805) quite well with better power management at a lower price point still. Seems more like Qualcomm made a snap deal with Lenovo to get rid of aged stock if you ask me.

  • Wont get 4gx or 4g plus but it isnt the end of the world.

    • the phones poor 4G coverage isn't the end of the world, but better 4G does help on busy trains and other congested areas, or inside buildings to get better signal through walls.
Can't see myself buying another phone that doesn't have good 4G coverage, I'm loving 700mhz in my office and on the train.

yesteryear spec with today's price no ty

      Today's price is ~ 700 AUD

400 AUD is S5/G3 territory and this phone holds up well.

    • the selling point imho is 64GB in-built storage (ROM) and also 4100mAh battery. no microsd slot and battery is non-removable though.

The phone also runs Cyanogenmod out of the box. Usually with China-phones they usually run a stock ROM but sometimes also a custom one that is polluted with other crapware.

Cyanogenmod should be a major selling point for power-users. I bet this is Lenovo's shot at making a OnePlus competitor.

    • Yesteryear spec? Who cares? 801 + 3GB of RAM will still provide excellent performance on CM (probably more so than the throttling SoCs Qualcomm outputs now) and the 4100mAh cell provides amazing battery life.

  • never heard of this phone before… seems pretty cool. would probably get it, if i was in the market. hopefully they will keep improving on it.

Get them to give me a call this time next year. lol

The Good: The Lenovo Zuk Z1 has a clean software interface and a comfortable Apple iPhone-ish frame. Battery life is fantastic, too.

The Bad: The camera performs terribly with lots of image noise, and the fingerprint sensor doesn't always sense your fingers to unlock the phone.

The Bottom Line: Buy the Lenovo Zuk Z1 only if you're in need of super long battery life and don't care about camera quality. Otherwise, there are more well-rounded options available.

Aliexpress has this phone for $270 USD on the 26th of Oct. Looks like it only ends up being $20 cheaper.

Lenovo "support" is absolutely useless. You'd best hope nothing goes wrong with this.

    • Man Xiaomi all the way for me with their awesome MIUI

Never buying lenovo again. Screen had dead areas all over, camera quality is shocking. There's a reason why these phones are so cheap, you pay for what you get.

Taken over a month for me to try and get a refund for my purchase. I should've paid more for a reputable phone in the first place. After return shipping to hk, I would've been able to get a better phone in Australia for the same price :( You live and you learn
