The ones on cashrewards where the best after cash back.
…still haven't received cashback..bought in August. Is that exceptionally long?
I just picked a couple up from the Hornsby branch. They had about 10 left. I am confused about the data though as on the Telstra website it says only 1.3GB but I thought you got 3GB! Is it a matter of what plan you get or are there different starter kits? the one's I got were the purple Pre-Paid SIM starter kits as per the pic on this thread. it mentions for mobiles or tablets on the front and hoping to use on an IPAD.
Cheers3GB for your DIY Hangouts /skype, types who may run calls separately to the packager of 'Data Pass'. Min $40 for Freedom plus required recharge for that same level of data. Or dual sim phones can take in both for 4.3G w’ au call #.
No stock left in chatswood, they've cleared both coles and the one officework.
I cleared the local officeworks today of the 5 mixed size types they had, for $5 each. Why $5 each? I really don't care, I just wish they had more.
Check the Expiry
Hi, can someone please help…Can I use this as mobile broadband for my USB modem to my laptop?
yes you can.
cheers
Anyone know when the deal expires at OW or Coles?
It seems like there are two different kinds of $30 Telstra Starter kits:
1) "Telstra Pre-Paid Sim Starter Kit" (for phones)
2) "Telstra Pre-Paid Sim Starter Kit for Tablets"Google them to see the different packaging. Just out of curiosity, what stops Telstra from letting you use the second one on a standard Android phone?
Some people are reporting that you get a starting 1.3GB of data but others are saying 3GB?
I have normally only considered starter kits for Devices/ 'Hot pink pack which I know activate under all (+new 1.3GB)mobile $30 telstra offers and including 3GB for data Tablets (*inbound enabled voice calls and no device discrimination vs optus).
It would appear that with marketing for mobile broadband data pass they have also got these largely redundant though still in existence orange tablet packs. And these are identical to the general SIM class above as far as I'm aware.
Purchase confidently, multi-fitting SIM sizes, for all Telstra $30 offers no matter of which packet they are advertised in.
Can you use credit from a Mobile Broadband offer in the Google Play store?
Definitely yes - just make sure you change your payment method EVERY purchase because it will usually default to Google Wallet first
I have an Optus sim in one slot and a Telstra sim in the other slot, and although I managed to get Telstra billing working, it's now showing Bill to Optus Account!
I checked a few Officeworks today and the shelves are completely empty
Correct, all available offers stack for data+ play store credit, find $30.00.
Did the same check myself with 3 Coles and all sold today and at start of the week so don't imagine additional units were allocated unlike on that $1/last special.
Disappointi g as Coles normally top for re-plenishing packs in the past. OTOH this has been the second time I have found dumbly expired (2014,orange) stock left around the place.
If I did not already three of the $1 on hand i'd have prob got $15 ones direct from T.Argh, I finally decided to make the switch to Telstra after suffering with poor Optus coverage where I am and was going to pop into Coles to grab one of these start sims only to find out I missed the sale by a day!
Hopefully the OW near me still has it… I suppose I could shell out another $5 to get it online from Telstra but it's 5 bucks! (plus I'd have to wait for it to get sent)
Anyone have a general idea how often they come down to this price? Not often I'm guessing…
$10 deals used to be quite often at Coles/Woolies and then they started becoming $15 deals. This is probably the first time in about 2 years that it has gone back down to $10… so definitely a stocking up opportunity. If I were in Brissie I would offer you one but I'm in Melbourne.
Need some advice please.
Fairly new at this, most of the knowledge I have came from here.I have Telstra home broadband and a Telstra prepaid on Longlife/Simplicity which is all I need. However I am off on a 10 day trip and might need some net access. My plan was to buy a new half price $30 prepaid and start it on Freedom then after the trip (or before the end of the recharge period) transfer what's left of the $30 to my other phone. Suggestions please, will it work and is there a better way.

I think we've been spoiled too much, now I only look for $5 or $1 Telstra/Optus/Voda $30 starter packs…
