  • FINALLY marked as sent. No tracking number yet though.
    For reference:

    Metallic White
    Ordered 16th Oct @ 4:14pm

  • Mine marked sent since Tuesday but also no tracking details:

I just got a reply from them:

    Hi

We are sorry to inform you that we are having huge loading due to the eBay promotion now and are trying our best to process all shipments. Due to limited manpower, we are having trouble to organize the tracking details in time. However, most of LG G4 parcels has been arranged. Please kindly allow some time and we will upload the tracking details by bulk including your order as soon as we can.

We sincerely apologise for the trouble and really appreciate your kind understanding.

    Regards
    Ella

    • same email

    • +2

Well, it is better than nothing. But they definitely could send us this email earlier!

  • Got this reply:

"I'm sorry to inform you that LG had delayed all of our Blue stock as they informed us there might be manufacturing defect for this color. We tried to source this phone from the market but it seems LG had paused all new stock releasing at the moment. We were informed that they will only release the new batch after fixing the manufacturing issue and may update us again next week. We sincerely apologise for the delay and wonder if you like to change to other colour?"

    • Wow glad i went the black leather lol. I just want it before next weekend

    • Oh my god I ordered the blue back cover one and I didn't receive any response from the seller what so ever

    • People that bought Asus Zenphone 2 BLUE got the same message except LG is ASUS.

      Quote QD:

I'm sorry to inform you that ASUS had collected all of our Blue stock back as they informed us there might be manufacturing defect for this color. We tried to source this phone from the market but it seems ASUS had paused all new stock releasing at the moment. We were informed ASUS will only release the new batch after fixing the manufacturing issue and may update us again next week. We sincerely apologise for the delay and wonder if you like to change the colour to WHITE?

  • It seems qd_au wlll update us with the tracking details soon. But for those who are really curious about their shipment (after being marked sent) just give DHL a call (131406) and kindly ask them to track your item using your details (first name n surname should do it). I just got informed that my item is on its way from Hongkong. They gave me the tracking number too.

    • That's right I did that earlier today. Turns out my parcel is still sitting in Taiwan and still has not been picked up for delivery.

      • I just got my tracking info, and my phone is doing the same thing as yours. Been sitting in Taiwan since Monday.
Man these guys aren't making it easy to forgive them…..

        • STATUS hasn't changed. I'm thinking maybe it's either on its way and there's a glitch in DHL's system or the seller is out of stock and is yet to source the handset and post it. Either way I'm not happy Jan!

        • +1

@alz: Mine was picked up (I'm guessing) around 15 minutes after I made the above comment last night.
Early this morning it left Taiwan. DHL estimate is by the end of Monday for me.
          Hopefully yours ships today!

I just rang and they gave me my details too, excellent customer service from DHL!

The lady said the airway slip has been generated but the item has not been picked up from the seller yet. So basically what I posted previously sounds correct - they've marked them as sent and they aren't. qd_au are making it really hard not to dislike them. I can only hope I never need to RMA it!

EDIT: Just plugged the tracking number into DHL and the slip was created last Friday.

      • Same story. Still haven't even been picked up.

        • Mine marked as sent. DHL told me they couldn't find anything…Guess some of our orders were just marked as sent only.

btw, excellent customer service from DHL.

So I got an update to my eBay order saying "Sent", instead of "Order Dispatched". This time it's a Toll tracking number, but even that doesn't come up in their system.

Can't help but think they are just assigning number to look like they are doing something.

Rather peeved with their customer service TBH!

EDIT: Just hit refresh on Toll page and it apparently landed in Perth 45mins ago. Who knows, maybe I will get it today! Interestingly, it said pickup was in HK, not Taiwan.

        • heh, I'm in the same boat :)
          26 Oct 15 09:06 Perth - Australia Arrived Hub

        • Have you got it today? I haven't :( Hope to get it tomorrow finally!

        • @larscliff: Naaa, nothing has updated since 9:15 yesterday morning. I was hoping I'd see a "Onboard with Driver" update, but not sure how Toll record it. I'm assuming it'll be here today, although tomorrow is better as the missus is out most of today whilst I'll be home all day tomorrow ;)

  • My item (Black leather) which was marked as sent on the 22nd with no tracking number has been updated with one. Only it's coming from Hong Kong this time and are using Toll for delivery. So the item was never sent on the 22nd. It was only marked as sent and the tracking number I got from DHL won't be used now I guess.

    • Had the same thing too. Looks like as of yesterday it was in Melbourne so woo $447 lg g4 soon lol

    • I ordered mine 16th October, got posted 23rd October and it is now with the courier to be delivered today (Sydney). The Seller's expedited postage is 10 days.. unbelievable..

      • Lucky! Mine was shipped by DHL but then handed over yesterday to Australia Post. At least I'm assuming, cause it says 'Delivery arranged no details expected'. So I've got no more information as to where the heck it is now. Thanks DHL!

        • Mines onboard with driver this morning

        • @d1strbd: Nice! hopefully mine is there when I get home today. Enjoy!

        • @theguyrules: got mine at 3:30. Any luck for you mate?

        • +1

@d1strbd: Yep! Just spent the last few hours setting it up! I'm loving it so far.

        • @theguyrules: same here WOOT WOOT!!

        • @d1strbd: is your Battery 2900mAh or 3000mAh ? Mine is 2900mAh, but they advertised 3000mAh, isn't ?

    Just arrived!

Ordered: 11:42 PM on Friday 16 Oct 2015.
Sent notification: 1:50 PM on Thursday 22 Oct 2015.
Delivered: 12:52 PM on Monday 26 Oct 2015. [delivered by a Toll driver]
    Location: Sydney, inner city.
    Cover variant: Black leather.

Checking the tracking using the "airway bill" number on the www.dpex.com site shows that it was collected in Hong Kong on the 23rd at 5PM, left Hong Kong on the 24th, arrived in Sydney on the 25th, and got delivered today.

I'm pretty happy with that. Yes, ideally they should have sent it earlier (on the Tuesday instead of the Thursday, as per the "1-2 days dispatch"), and they marked it as sent one day too early (which is probably why they didn't want to give us tracking numbers). So it took 3 days longer than it ideally should have, i.e. 10 days to be received instead of 7 days. And yes, ideally their communication should have been better - i.e. one message straight away to say we have a big backlog of orders and are working through them ASAP and will let you know when we have a shipping date, one to say there will be a delay of 3 days in shipping and apologizing, and a final one when the order was sent (really sent) with a working tracking number.

But still, "don't sweat the small stuff" and all that … they're 3 days slower than perfect - personally I can live with that and will still leave positive feedback (but 2 or 3 stars on communications), assuming that the phone is okay … Time now to open the thing! :-)

    • Hey, is yours gold trim + camera, or black?

I hesitated buying the black leather cause the picture showed it with the gold trim + camera, rather than black like all the other photos on the internet show the black leather one having.

      • No, it's black. The metal buttons below the camera look silver to me, although I can see it has a slight gold tint to it, especially when I hold it next to something else silver, although it is quite subtle. Probably depends a lot on the lighting as to how strong this slight tint appears. Basically, when I do a Google image search for "lg g4 black leather", the phone I have looks like every other picture, maybe very very slightly more gold-ish in the metal around the camera, but it's not noticeable unless you're specifically looking for it, and is probably due to lighting differences or photoshop colour balancing of those images.

          Fair enough, nice@

    • is your Battery 2900mAh or 3000mAh ?

Mine is 2900mAh, but they advertised 3000mAh.

      • Mine is 2900mAh (sorry, replied to you below as well).

I have just received the phone which was sent from Hongkong instead of Taiwan. The box is not sealed. Are your sealed, guys?

    • Same here, Box was not sealed, But everything was intact inside the box.

But I found a strange thing, the Battery is 2900mAh, whereas, they advertised 3000mAh.

      • +1

mine is 3000, guess different batch/model? because on one side of the battery shows both 3000 and 2900 text.

        • thank you for replying me

      • +1

Mine is also marked as 2900 mAh.

      Mine was sealed

      • And it was from Honkong direct? Not Taiwan?

        • Sorry no Taiwan

Been running the new phone now for the few days - seems very nice. It is improved by using Google Now launcher, Chrome, and a 3rd party keyboard (e.g. Swiftkey), and ignoring the LG alternatives, in my opinion.

If it helps anyone else, these are some questions I had and the answers I found:

Setting the default browser - want to change this to Chrome instead of the default "Internet" app. This should apply to bookmarks on the home-screen, links clicked in Google Now, etc : To change this, go Settings -> Apps -> "All" tab -> Internet -> Clear defaults. Now click a link, and will show a "complete action using" dialog box. Select "Chrome", ensure that "use as default app" is ticked, and click "Ok".

how to remove swipe to unlock when in a trusted place (i.e. just want to press power button and go, or double-tap and go): Don't think this can be done in stock android - needs a custom ROM.

How to turn off the boot up and power off sounds? Either install a custom app, or root your phone and rename some files, or install a custom ROM. Source: http://android.stackexchange.com/questions/106706/how-do-i-d… ; Apparently this annoys other people too: https://www.reddit.com/r/lgg4/comments/387065/rant_startup_a…

Power button menu - used to have this configured to capture a screenshot - how to do this now? A: Hold down power button and volume down simultaneously for a few seconds, and this will take a screenshot.

You can download the full User Manual from: http://www.phonearena.com/phones/LG-G4_id9104/manual

Ad blocking - had gotten so used to ad blocking that I had forgotten how annoying ads are when browsing on mobile devices! To block ads, need to root the phone first, then install adaway from f-droid.

    3 questions/problems I still don't have answers for:

    1) Has anyone rooted their phone yet? If so, did it work, and which process did you follow? Link appreciated.

    2) Has anyone installed Xposed? If so, did it work, and which process did you follow? Link appreciated. Apparently Xposed can be used to: Get rid of the annoying boot sound ; Get rid of the camera shutter sound ; Get rid of the pointless power off confirmation ; Customize the power off menu.

    3) How to stop notification sounds at night, but keep alarms working? I tried setting the phone's sound mode to "priority only", but my wife tells me the phone kept making sounds during the night (and I saw there were some app notifications in the morning, and it was on the charger charging overnight). And "no interruptions" turns off everything, including alarms. Under Settings -> Sounds & Notification -> Apps, it looks like no apps have priority notification enabled, so I'm baffled as to what is making sounds, unless it's a notification that the phone is fully charged. Any ideas / pointers on how to make the phone completely silent at night, but still allow alarms, would be appreciated.

    • Thanks for sharing.

      about your 3rd question,

have you tried the "downtime" setting in interruptions?
basically you can set a time interval which equals to "do not disturb" in iPhone or silent hours in Windows Phone. Alarm would work.

    • Haven't rooted mine, probably won't for a while, if ever.

As for question 3, I found it hard to do compared to my S5, which has a mute option in the sounds, as well as Vibrate and normal sound.

What I have done which appears to work for only alarms, is put it in priority only mode, put the sound profile on silent and then make sure all sounds in the sounds slider thingo are all the way down.

Much more of a pain to do compared to Samsung though.

    • It could be calendar events.

If you hold your finger on the 'priority only' button under Qslide, under advanced, click priority only and untick Calendar events.

I've worked out where the noises were coming from - it's android's charging notifications. On "priority only" the phone still makes a noise when plugging in the charger, and then makes a noise when there is a "battery fully charged" notification. That's completely nuts. Sounds happening that shouldn't happen in priority mode is one of the most starred issues with lollipop: https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=80154 . I think I'll just set this phone to "no interruptions" at bedtime and use the wife's phone (android 4 on silent mode) for alarms.

        • Hm strange, mine only vibrates once when the battery is full, either on priority or vibrate.

Maybe check sound settings while on vibrate only. Last idea I have..

        • If you go to settings, then notifications, then apps, go to the clock app and tick to always have notifications even on priority. That may work

  • I installed my Tagg screen protector last night and wasn't impressed…
It didnt have any protection on the front part of it, and it was quite scratched.
In the process of trying to get a new one sent out now.

    • Highly recommend the Spigen Crystal HD one's. I've used them all my devices for years, they come in 3 packs but I find I get a year out of each protector before the scratches are that noticeable and my phones live in my pocket with no case.

There is a Aussie eBay seller that has them for $15 delivered.

      • Hmm that sounds good. I'm getting a replacement Tagg protector sent out but if the new one is also crappy I'll look into those.
I personally hate cases and normally hate screen protectors, but I also dont like scratches on the screen so can't have both.

I found this youtube video recently that is really worth checking out. Especially love the tip for double clicking the down volume to wake up and automatically take a photo.

  • What is annoying me most about my new LG G4 is the fact that I can't feel it vibrate when in pocket and can't hear it vibrate when on my desk at work. I put the vibrate strenght to the highest level and still no good. The M8 (sitting in my drawer) used to cause earthquakes when it vibrates.

  • Has anyone purchased a QI charger adapter? Any good recommendations? Are the $3 ones of eBay of sufficient quality? Hate to buy a cheap one only for it to kill my phone, but then hate to buy a $20 one when it does the exact same thing as the $3 one!

  • Btw, any recommendation for QI charger for more than one device? I have Moto 360. It would be nice if it is possible to charge the watch and the phone simultaneously.

  • Is anyone have trouble with wireless charging? Tried 2 different wireless charging stickers but they both dont wirelessly charge. The LED on the charging pad just blinks on and off.
