  This deal is very normal. Usually there's a good deal where you get enough points to pay off the annual fee AND get a $100 gift card.

    I agree with this. There are sometimes some extras, like 10,000 points closer to Christmas (usually during their special shopping nights). Might want to keep an eye on that.
