BX100 500Gb can go cheaper, I got one for $149. Just gotta watch those price fluctuations

    • US $149 before shipping correct? And without the 15% discount?

      • +1

Yep, before shipping and without the AMEX disc.

          Well that's correct

@Bappy: samsung 850 EVOs have gone to $149 as well.

        • @rogr: Link plz? I can see it at 159!

        • @some_one_some_where: past tense, they'll get back down at some point.

        • @rogr: Humm, this makes sense now. They may come back to that price point but if you have noticed Amazon's international prices fluctuate with the USD value. They do not lose money past a certain point. Keep watching and you will see what I mean.

        • @rogr: Can't see the 850 EVO at $149. Can see them at $174 before discount

        • @rogr:

Where is the Evos at 149?

        • @KaTst3R: What I meant to say was that they WERE at $149 at a previous point in the past. Not currently, my bad.

      • Awesome deal, thanks!
Finally, an SSD that can replace my "download" HDD in the laptop.
3 SSDs in one laptop… Yeeehawww!!

  • I'm not very familiar with the Crucial BX100 SSDs… does anyone know their quality compared to the likes of say, Samsung evo?

    • -2

      EVO totally outclasses it.

Wouldn't make sense to trust Crucial BX100s any less than Samsung 850 EVOs after the 840's issues and Samsung's handling of them, but who knows where the next problem drives will come from. Maybe they'll be from Crucial, SanDisk, Kingston…

More generally, reviews of the BX100 are quite favourable.

      • 840's issues?
is that one of their toploaders? ;)

^ Words out of my mouth (converted to text)

    • According to Anandtech:
      http://www.anandtech.com/show/9144/crucial-bx100-120gb-250gb…

The BX100 is one of the most power efficient drives. The 850 EVO is marginally faster.

You'll never notice any real-world difference in performance, but the BX100 is usually cheaper.

In terms of product quality there's no known difference, but Samsung has a history of denying known issues and discrediting people who complain when problems do arise. I have bought 3 Samsung SSDs in the past, but most of my new SSDs have been Crucial.

  • Crazy price!

Shame the new XPS 15 only fits an M.2 if you've got their 17 hour battery. Drooling at that laptop… Good bye MBP

  • How would i know if my laptop can handle/compatible with this ssd??? sorry for the noob question.
My laptop is an ROG G550JK.

  • 1TB Crucial BX100 has a price drop again today. $300.76 USD delivered + 15% off for AmEx customers.

  • Is this deal still on? Tried ordering and total is 248 shipped with my AmEx
