  • What is the difference between this and the RX-S600?

  • The RX-S600 is last years model.

Main difference is the added Bluetooth Streaming and Yamaha MusicCast Support.

    • 4k and HDCP 2.2 as well

      • The RX-S600 also had 4K Passthrough.

But the HDCP 2.2 is also a new feature.

        • Also I was trying to edit my comment to add spotify and a smartphone control app.

Dont think the s600 had either of those.

It's quite a good little upgrade that should allow the unit to last a number of years.

        • @justtoreply:

The RX-S600 had Spotify and Smartphone app support as well.

But I agree there a great little receiver which should last quite a while with their feature set.

  • I got $794 pickup at Harvey Norman. Stock should be on it's way to the store as the product launched on the 28th.

Having said that, your price beat everybody else that I tried, just not Harvey Norman. And I'm sure for pickup you could beat them - unless you're using dropshipping?

Once in a blue moon HN shocks me in a good way.

    • Yes the difference there is the freight we would have to pay to send the product out.
We could have beaten them slightly if it was a pickup order.

That is a good price tho and surprising for HN.

    • I can only find the RX-S600B.

    • I've contacted a handful of HN in VIC. They told me they only had the RX-S600B in their inventory. And that unit is going for $794. Which HN did you get it from?

The OP is selling the RX-S601

      • Order in item, you will need to ask about getting one in. Probably not on their website as it was released on monday. I'm not in Vic. You will also have to haggle, that's how I got the s601 down to the s600 price.

The price in this post is definitely a good price, if you should prefer shipping or not wasting time haggling. We're only talking $16 more here!

        • im beginning to hate the fact that i have had to post many items back for warranty, when purchasing online. So I would rather buy it locally in a shop. I'm not too far from the nearest shopping centres. Also its a little easier to assert to remind them about Australian Consumer Laws when it comes to warranty issues.

Not worried really about the discount difference. I just got off the phone with a HN rep and it is just not in their inventory at the moment (well here in VIC anyway, and the guy said they can't get it in till its in their inventory)… so I'll probably wait a little longer till it hits the shelves..

        • There is also no need to wait for them to figure out if they have stock or to order it in. We can offer Metro Vic Delivery tomorrow in time for the long weekend and football if ordered now.

  • which speakers should I get for this receiver? Im noob.

    • Hi Spink

If you want to give us a call tomorrow, we'd be happy to help out and go through some different speakers which would be a good match for this receiver.

    Gee - tempting!

  • Hi, When will you be offering the RX-S601D - ie. with the digital radio receiver?

    • Hi Peter.

There has been no word yet on that model.
As soon as it is released we will have stock available.

      • Radio Parts in Melbourne advise they can get stock within a week. Their price is $999 which I presume is RRP. Can you please reconfirm availability? Thank you.

        • Yes we have had stock for nearly 2 weeks now. Ready and waiting to be sent out.
I've extended the sale price for 2 more days for you.

Yes $999 is the RRP for this model.

        • @Customht:

On the RX-S601D (not the RX-S601)? ie. with the additional digital radio receiver?

I can't seem to find it on your website?

        • @Peter247:
No we have not heard any word on the RX-S601D from the distributor as yet, sorry I thought you were checking the availability of the RX-S601.
But as soon as stock is available with them we will receive stock.
