  • Which one is better? these or Sennheiser HD25? Mostly listen to trance, EDM and bit of live bands. Thanks in advance.

Everyone's going to have a different preference. There is no substitution for comparing these in person, if you ever get the chance.

      Background info:
      - I own an M-100. If I were to ever lose mine, I would definitely buy another
      - I've borrowed a set of Sennheiser HD25 I-II headphones from a friend
      - I listen to a little bit of everything (Jazz, Rock, R&B, a little bit of EDM, etc)
      - Half the time, I'm listening to FLAC, the other half I'm just streaming music from Google Play Music.

      M-100 opinion:
      - M-100s are just 'fun' to listen to, and they do well with most music genres. They have plenty of bass to them and are easy to drive
      - My usual set-up : Macbook -> FiiO E18 Kunlun (USB DAC/AMP) -> M-100
      - It also pairs very nicely with my Cowon J3
      - The normal foam padding that comes with it is nice, but gets uncomfortable when you're listening to it for 3 hours or more. These are Circumaural headphones (they sit around your ear) and are supposed to be great for extended listening sessions.
      - If you buy these, I highly recommend (http://v-moda.com/xl-memory-cushions/) - they are worth every cent (significant improvement in comfort and a bit more noise isolation)

      HD25 I-II opinion:
      - these seems very focused around EDM music, which you seem to enjoy
      - They didn't do too well with other genres of music when I tested them with my Cowon J3
      - these are supra-aural headphones (they sit on your ear) and are more compact but not great for extended listening sessions
      - these have been around for a really long time, and are still worth considering, they just weren't the right ones for me.

I also own the M-100 and really enjoy them, just as @ihavok stated, they're fun and can handle almost all genres with a slight lean towards EDM and heavier bass genres, but nothing that I'd consider these solely "DJ" oriented phones. Music aside, I use them for everything, the build quality is fantastic and I absolutely love the way they retract and flex into a reasonable form factor for traveling. I have no doubt that I'll be using these for years.

As stated above it's recommended to purchase the extra XL Memory cushions, I used them stock for about a year, but because I do wear headphones for long periods of time the stock cushions did start to irritate my ears/head (and I have quite small ears to begin with). While I'd recommend them and so will others who own them, the exchange rate is very low and the shipping I believe I paid for was $20 (Double the cost of the cushions themselves), I'm not sure if i'd consider them a value option (I managed to get them for "free"), despite the improvements to comfort. (Isolation is improved, but I didn't notice a huge difference in performance) Wait it out, give them a shot stock.

  • Nice price.
Had I not bought Ultrasonics a few weeks back (well priced from Kogan), I would have jumped on these.

  • I have the M-100. I would also buy another another instantly if I lost it. I spent months researching before I went ahead and purchased it, I considered the HD-25 & Momentum's and I'm glad I got the M-100. I also own the Audio Technica ATH-M50's which sound absolutely shit compared to the Moda's.

Also, if you get them you NEED TO purchase the XL pads. The difference they make is unbelievable, to me, they're nothing special with the standard pads. They really come to life with the XL pads.
