They're refurbished aren't they? Deals Direct is just Graysonline.

      • Yup it says reconditioned.

      • I believe greys online didn't merge products with deals direct.
Greys online merged with online only (oo.com.so)

So all the buy it now products on greys online is actually on oo.com.au

    • They're not the CUH 1200 series I presume?

For a refurb it's highly unlikely. Potential buyers should also note that the probability of the eject button messing up. This happened to me but fortunately as I had the white ps4, I was able to get a new one.

  • knew there had to be something wrong for a ps4 $300… reconditioned.

Deal title should read "Checkout with MasterPass" instead of "Checkout with MasterCard".

It's a MasterPass offer. Other cards accepted (Visa, Amex).

Reported necessary change to help people who don't have MasterCard & want this deal. Just register for MasterPass.

People are quick to neg a helpful & accurate change of title!
      Thanks Mods, title updated.

  • How bad are the refurbs? Thinking about buying a TV….

    • It's all relative.

In my opinion, they are certainly worse than Mother Theresa, but not nearly as bad as Osama bin Laden…

    • I got a refurbished LG 65" 65UF850T for $2500 from oo.com.au when they had a 20% off sale ontop of a discounted price.

The unit was NEW .. 100% unused and a new fresh out of the box TV.. All packaging and plastic still stuck on the TV. had to peel off factory stickers all over the TV RRP $4999 - stand screws never used and no way was it a second hand TV in any way.

      My experience was awesome!

I'm guessing my TV was a factory batch test unit to make sure a batch of TV's pass QA. Best purchase ever 50% off cant beat that. but it was a 2015 model unit that had only been released 2 months prior my purchase. :) i'm happy with it but 65" is still a little too small for my liking.

      • Refurbished nowadays usually looks just like new, in case you haven't had any experience with refurbs. If it's refurbished by the original manufacturer, usually they'd put on brand new chassis with refurbished internals. From the outside it's completely new.

        • well if it was used .. it wasn't used for more then 2 months as the unit had only started selling at stores 2 months before my purchase. all packaging inside was also new.. new sealed remote.. paperwork// even the box was new.. but on the site they state that some refurbished tvs can come without a box and without paperwork.. so not all refurbished units will be like mine. The newer the product the less likely it will be a used refurb. not enough time had passed.

        • @vid_ghost: Not trying to put you off or anything, but a refurb is a refurb, and there should be no difference in using a refurb vs using new, unless it's a bad refurb.
There's no benefits for DD/OO/Gray's to sell a new product as a refurb, if it was new they could've sold it as new with a higher price, or as new with a lower price and sell quicker.
2 months is also plenty of time for DOA products to be fixed and sold again.
In regards to new box and paperwork… all apple refurbs are exactly like that, there's no reason other brands can't do the same.

Unless they accidentally sent you a new one, then that's a different story lol…

  • Thanks guys, great post. Just bought some furniture.

Does anyone know if they have sneakily jacked up the price a little like the ebay deals or is this actually 20% off?

    • +1

Most prices look the same, but many things on sale yesterday just magically went back to normal price at 0:00 last night/this morning. I was looking at a kettle that was $30+shipping, it went back to $40+shipping… So with 20% off it's still more expensive.

  • From what I gather, MasterPass only works if you bank with Commonwealth, Bankwest, Bendigo or NAB. I'm all ears if anyone else can get it working for credit cards from other institutions.

    • I got it working on Citibank visa card. (I chose NAB, but didn't add any NAB card to it)

    • Yep, I used an ING card worked fine.

  • Make sure your connection is over HTTPS before you submit any credit card details. I clicked on the xbox link above, changed the url to start with 'www' instead of 'm' to make it desktop friendly, and then proceeded to the checkout only to find the website was not secure even though it was trying to tell me that it was a 'Secured checkout'.

    • Payment is on third party platform (Masterpass), site doesn't even transmit CC info, so no need to worry

      • Not when it was over HTTP. The payment screen appeared as a kind of a frame on the dealsdirect page. Over HTTPS it certainly behaves differently and actually redirects you to the masterpass portal.

        • all sensitive information transmitted in Masterpass is HTTPS/SSL encrypted which has nothing to do with DealsDirect

  • Watch these guys & their Cashrewards.
3 times I've been turned down for rebate by DD claiming they have no knowledge of transaction
I, for one will not shop with DD again.

    • Yep. Bought a similar set when was on clearance, very pleased

  • Has anyone have experience with their outdoor furniture? Im looking to get this:

  • Try and avoid these clowns. Was keeping an eye on 3 products. All 3 went up in price.

  • +2

make sure you check oo.com.au (I think it's the same company?) as they have $2.25 shipping per item at the moment. I bought a couch with DD and their shipping was $100. So it turned out that with OO it was $40 cheaper than DD even with the 20% off item price.

    • is 00 same company as DD?

      • I'm not sure, it could be. The website layout is very similar, they sell almost identical items, and many of them are at the same price. The checkout page they also have masterpass and visa checkout…

        • Interesting..

      • Both are owned by Gray's.

        • How do u know they are owned by Grays?

Why waste money on two sites to maintain?

        • @tyler.durden:
Both were independent, and then Gray's bought them… so I guess Gray's just decided to keep both brands. Topbuy was bought as well since it was a part of DealsDirect.
          and it's very simple to google….. http://www.cnet.com/au/news/graysonline-merges-with-dealsdir…

        • @clse945111:

wow didn't know gray's own quite a few online stores..

Most of their auction crap is overpriced and I have never bought an auction item from them

  • I haven't shopped with Deals Direct, for years. When they started up, about ten years ago, a friend and I bought a bunch of things from them. Hopefully the quality of their products has improved because, back then, everything we bought was kinda crap quality and broke really easily.

  • +1

No idea how to sign up with masterpass. All the google searches take me to a page where I can select from 4 banks andd clicking on any of the banks does not do anything.

    • ok I sorted this rubbish out. The masterpass site doesn't work. I just went directly yo NAB site (as per the poster above) and signed up using my Citi VISA. Already made the first purchase with no issues.

Weird that I'm able to register a Citi VISA on a NAB MasterPass site. Go figure.

  • bought $2200 worth of products - paid around $1800 :)
    Bed frames
    tvs
    mattresses etc !!

    Thanks for posting this deal!

    Cheers

  • Prices are lower than ever on a couple of items I've been eyeing a while. Went down today. I think a good day today for furniture.
