I'm after a netbook / notebook predominatly for websurfing / music / downloads.
Would be happy with a higher end netbook or smaller screen notebook.
What would get me the biggest bang for my buck and where to source from?
Thanks!
Andrew

MSY, $499, tommorow
That's a nettop which is quite the opposite of a netbook or notebook since it will need mains power and wouldn't have a battery if you know what I mean…
Ah sorry, I thought nettop was MSY's version of a netbook ;)
:-) you might want to edit the tags on that deal too, because it still says netbook.
@inherentchoice: Done, thanks again inherentchoice.

I bought the blue 250gb version when it was featured on Ozbargain for $399 now sold out, this one has larger hard disk and free delivery for $50 more - I think its a winner.
I've used auction site Graysonline for a laptop before, getting one at about half price.
They have plenty of 'new' laptops, most with a warranty, it's just that they might be ex-demo, 'resealed' or 'reconditioned' as explained here:

Read the ads carefully, but I think they're pretty good about disclosing any imperfections. Also be wary of the buyer's premium and delivery fee, but if you do your research I think you can get a good deal.
As an example, they just had a few HP netbooks sell for about $300:

These 8.9" Lenovo's also look promising:

This new one got posted which seems like a higher end netbook for only $458 posted:

A huge number of netbooks pop up in here, i reckon we get at least 3 a week. Chuck "GB" into our search engine and see what happens.
I prefer Asus or MSI but thats a matter of opinion.
