I can recommend the Sennheiser in Ear CX300II to anyone, even those picky people like myself who can't stand horrid quality sound. These headphones have performed for me time and time again, excellent range and comfortable. I have purchased 4 of them in the last 6 or 7 years. This is due to me just shoving them in my pocket and stretching the wire, if I was more careful I'm sure I would still have my first pair now. I now store them in the little pouch they come with and I haven't had a problem.

Agreed! They are amazing, for any type of music or quality of the recording/ripping/conversion. The sound is in balance, lows, mids, highs. I love them, i tried so many others, more expensive ones, so called pro ones etc. And they cant compare, my ones are gonna be 2 years old now and still working perfectly, use them everyday, home, gym, outdoors, in bed, perfect, i even bought spare ones from the dick smith sale few weeks ago lol. 5/5 ☆.

    • Agree with Trewq. Been using these for 10+ years. Get a new set every 2-3 years. Great bass.
Good for Linkin Park, etc. Not so much for T.Swift.

    • Question - how do these compare with the xiaomi piston 2s?

    • Mine are still going strong after 6 years.

    • Agreed. Great headphones.

    • I used nothing but these for the last 3 years. My last pair lasted 8 months with pretty serious use (averaging 5 or 6 hours a day). I don't think I was too rough with them, but I also seem to definitely be in the minority in terms of durability.

Sound quality is really fantastic for <$100, nice bass response without being overpowering. These have been floating around ~$30 whenever they're on sale at DSE, and at that price I couldn't recommend them enough.

these are cheaper on ebay, unless you don't have the patience to wait, I recommend the eBay one.

Those are fake. If you want authentic buy them from a reputable retailer.

Better than the xiaomi pistons ?

    • -7

      Xiaomi what???

Its like comparing Mercedes and toy-youta lol!

      • +2

Eh, I would say Xiaomi Pistons might be even better than a lot of lower end Sennheisers. Quite a lot of people actually rate Xiami Piston 3 really highly and some of the well respected reviewers even compare it to headphones like Sennheiser Momentum In-Ear which is a really decent IEM for its price ($100+).

I got the CX300II and Xiaomi Piston 3…I find the Xiaomi better in clarity, soundstage and bass. The CX300II is still a good earphone but I find it slightly "muffled" compared to the Xiaomi. The Piston 3 also comes with a mic and volume control which is pretty handy. If I have to make a choice, I'll spend my money on the Piston 3.

Thanks katster, exactly the review I was after. Already have piston 2s,but was deciding between this or the 3s!

        Cheers mate

        • +2

I don't have the piston 2, but i read that some people find the bass in the piston 2 stronger. I think piston 3 is going for a more balanced sound profile. Not sure if you are a bass head but just note, do some research.

That being said, I already found the piston 3 bass to be brain cracking. Any stronger I don't think I can listen to Steve Aoki for more than 15 min

          You're making me delirious ;)

    • xiaomi pistons are better

I highly discourage people from buying Sennheiser products from places like eBay because fake sennheiser products have been mass produced for a very long time and it is really hard to distinguish from the real ones (visually). If you search on Aliexpress, you can see that they are EXTREMELY easy for people to acquire and try to sell the counterfeit on eBay.

Although I cannot say for 100%, I believe the similar can be said for "refurbished" products since as far as I know Sennheiser doesn't sell any refurbished products of their low end catalogue.

Edit: I have been burnt by purchasing a fake headphone before and it really sucks especially if it was quite pricy. Hence, you should always try to check if a fake version of a product is in circulation via google, aliexpress etc. before purchasing from a dodgy seller / second hand.

    • True this, Sennheiser products I've heard are easy to counterfeit as well.

      • Hey… You changed your username? ;)

:P One of the people I know was an Ozbargainer, I wanna cling onto the fake sense of anonymity for a bit longer.

        • @Oversimplified: I might actually do the same haha :)

        • @CheapCoffee: :) You did. Now you can share the deals you've posted without going, "crap, they'd know it's me". :D

Hello now 'X'-Rated AM in the PM.

          winky-face in hiding

You may want to send this fellow an actual non-time PM, if you don't wish to actually appear in the thread he posted a few days ago

I seem to recall sneaky you being all across Windows tab+pen gear and issues. You may also be able to persuade him to buy from an OS seller, assuming that to be palatable to him.

Anyway, give that poor guy (he lives in Perth - apparently boring, despite the regular shark attacks), the benefit of your knowledge.

        • @Tas: I completely missed that post. :P

        • @Oversimplified:

          I completely missed that post.

Well, that's not the you that I know.
Pull your socks up young man.

          Oh, you already have.
          Good.

          :P to you, too!

  • Does anyone else have the problem of not being able to select a store to pick up from when checking out ?

    • +1

Yeah I think the stock is very limited. I tried Brisbane (4000) and the nearest pickup place was Helensvale (about 60km from CBD).

  • -4

I'll buy it if it's $19! Bring the price down! Bring it further down!

  • Oh man, I remember buying these a few years back (Sennheiser In Ear CX300II) for $69 then the price went down then back up…. and now its $99 from Dick Smith. Oh… good ol' Dick ripping us off (http://search.dicksmith.com.au/search#w=Sennheiser%20In%20Ea…)

  • +1

none within 200k from Melbourne?…got one sent,, been after a good set for my bike anyway..

  • Extremely limited stock, as the CX300-II has been replaced by the CX3.00

    I bought a pair of MM30s for $39 and CX300 for $29…fab deals.

  • I got a pair! I love my current pair but I hate that I lost the cool little case. So now I have the case AND a spare set in case I lose mine. Thanks for the deal.

  • Nice. I'm still using the Sennheiser CX280 I got from catchoftheday in 2010 for $37.60. The CX280's are the most comfortable to wear earphones I have had so hopefully the CX300II will be similar.

  • Love these headphones!! Lucky enough to live regional with a store in town that has stock!! Thanks guys!!

  • Mum needs a good pair of noise cancelling headphones, ideally in this price range. Any recommendations?

  • Cx300 vs Xiaomi Pistons?

    • +1

      Scroll up.

      • My bad, I'm blind. Thanks.

  • 300's are great every day headphones…good bass.

  • As a long time Sennheiser fan I have now moved onto these from Jlabs:

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00FZHCR04/

They are excellent and seem a bit more durable. On special right now. Note there are various colours and they are different prices.

    Thx Op!

I got two pairs on goodguys ebay store.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Sennheiser-CX300II-In-Ear-CX300II…

    Don't forget 2.5% ebay Cashrewards :)))

  • Seems like CX300II has been Ozb'ed from the official website. Was still available on the ebay link though (limited stock)

  • Got the CX300II instore for $21.75. Thanks

    • How???

      • I think it was store specific but the whole row of them was marked as $21.75

        • which store? like suburb and state?

        • @itr:
Ah sorry. From Taylors Lakes store 3038

  • It's sold out across SA, can anyone please help me to buy 2 of those?

    • You could possibly get another store to price match

      • I can't. No stock in SA and no display on the website

        • Maybe someone can post a receipt?

        • @TRENT86:no worry. I asked tgg for the ticket and brought to jb hifi for price match. Successful

        • +1

          @ntt: Good to hear :)

        • @TRENT86: but the gentleman only accepted 1 item

        • +1

What ticket? The yellow note thing they use to display the price??

        • @slosh: yes

  • So I got my CX300 II from TGG today and the cord feels really cheap compared to my old pair. It's a shiny cheap plastic, the kind of cord you would find in a cheap $2 pair of earphones. My old pair of CX300 II has a high quality rubber feeling cord. Is this normal? I can't see how TGG would sell fakes but they are definitely different to my old pair.
