    Hi Lush Meadow,

Could you do this for $10.10 including postage?
Cause my local chemist has same price.

    Thanks.

    • How local is your local chemist? I would just pickup from your local.
To post one bottle would not be worth it.

    • If you buy 8 you can get free postage.

Or over $80 in one order whatever you buy.

If you have a Ms.Flannery's anywhere near you, they have good coconut oil for a better price than this all the time.

    Isn't all coconut oil "organic"?

    • +1

This is not true. Depends of the extraction method of oil from the coconut meat. Refined coconut oil is extracted by using chemical solvents and is therefore not organic.

  • Costco has jars double the size for $13. Psarakos stores in Melbourne have the big jars for $11 I think.

    • Yes. But there is a difference between refined and virgin coconut oil. Good virgin coconut oil is much more expensive, but also has much healthier fat content, better texture, much better flavour and fragrance. There really is no comparison between the two. Refined oil is processed at high heat by often using chemical solvents for extraction. This all makes the production process quicker and cheaper, but the oil quality lower. In contrast, organic virgin coconut oil is cold pressed without the use of chemicals.

      • The two I mentioned are also organic virgin cold pressed.

Coles sells 1 liter for $9.90

      • +1

And which Coles would that be? 300g unrefined organic oil is $12.87 at Coles. Please do not spread false information. Check the price at Coles Online Shop > http://shop.coles.com.au/online/national/melrose-organic-coc…

Do not worry, no false information provided, neither intended to do so. I bought it at Coles in Brighton-Le-Sands, and if I kept the receipt, which I didn't, I would give it to you. I was surprised how good price it was after buying Oil4life brand for more than double the price. But can't confirm it was on special, or not as it has been few months since.

Just keep in mind, that not all products Coles sells are available online, and prices may vary from shop to shop.

@durendal: As far as I know, Coles stocks 2 brands of coconut oil. One is Melrose which is rather expensive, but of good quality. The other one is Planet Organic and this one is actually 1L, but it costs around $20. I am obviously talking regular price. At Coles, coconut oil is very rarely on special from my experience.

          @Lush Meadow:
I am talking about 'Planet Food' brand; and your post is not promoting regular price, but special price, isn't it.

It depends on the excess stock of each store, which would essentially be marked with special price by the op. manager. Such specials differ from catalog specials.

    Hate those inorganic coconuts…

  • Coles sells Planet Food Cold Pressed Organic Unrefined Virgin Coconut Oil 1 kg for $21.99
    http://shop.coles.com.au/online/national/planet-food-organic…

They periodically have it on sale too. I recently bought it for $18 per kg.

If someone wants a smaller jar, they sell 320 g for $7.14 ($22.30 per kg)
    http://shop.coles.com.au/online/national/planet-food-organic…

Your price works out $21.35 per kg. However Postage kills potential 64 cents per kg saving compared to Coles standard prices.

    • So this deal is cheaper?

      • No, this deal is more expensive than Coles, unless you buy over $80 worth of goods to get free delivery.

        • Doh! I somehow only saw the 64 cent saving part.

          Bargain Goggles :D
