Not sure if that was deliberate but it seems you've got it linking to the Korean site

  • Scoot codes are worthless! When asked they point to:

The discount may not be available on all flights or all dates.

I pointed out this deal to a mate who uses Scoot regularly to fly back and forth between Australia and Asia and got this in reply:

Scoot codes are a scam, they don't work. I have emailed them
about their codes not working and they simply pointed to a clause
in their booking tips that says if the code doesn't work , it's
    your fault not ours.

I've tried this code on a bunch of sample bookings. At best, I can get it to give me 3% off an economy class base fare and 7% off a 'business' class base fare. Scoot are a Ryanair/slEasyjet style low-cost carrier, so we can't expect too much from them. Even if you do dodgy-accounting and try to represent the discount as a percentage of the discounted price, it still only gets to 9%. Maybe Scoot-logic is that 3% plus 7% is 10%? I dunno! :-)

  • @douglasb

and applies to the base fares only

The base fares are almost always a small percentage of what you'd finally pay (once you add taxes and fees), so 3-7% off the entire fare sounds about right.

    • No, @FlyingAce, it's not right at all. I'm getting 3% and 7% off the base fare, so the final discount will be even less.

  • Surely thats gotta be a form of misleading marketing/advertising ?
Its deceptive to say "Use this code for 10% off" and "This code might not work or only give you 1% off"

Im no expert, but arent there laws against that sort of behaviour ? (Suppose it doesnt help if they dont have an australian presence)
