I recently grabbed one for $180 from JB (floor stock), with nearly $100 marked off the price. This here, this is a great price! It appears to be a stock clearance to make way for the 2015 model.

The sound quality beats Bose and everything else in the size category hands down. I'm happy with my purchase as it fills quality that range between my UE mini boom and Logitech desktop speakers perfectly. It sits by my bedside, follows me around the house, and goes nicely in my checked luggage. Considering the standard retail price and the quality of this thing, it was a bargain. I was seriously considering paying full retail when I heard this thing for the first time, glad I held out.
Just keep in mind it's not crazy loud on batteries (although it'll fill a room nicely at a very high fidelity) and has a proprietary charger. Make sure you check out the microUSB X33 (https://www.jbhifi.com.au/ipods-docks-fitness/wireless-speakā¦) and newer pricier louder X55, and be certain this is the purchase for you. Some reviews suggest even the X3 beats the X5, but my experience in-store at JB (comparing the X33 $175 and $180 X5) was that they were close, but the larger unit produced a fuller sound when plugged in. The X33 outclasses X5 unplugged in terms of portable utility volume and convenience, but the X5+ have a richness and fullness of sound that the X33 is just too small to produce. If you've got a little portable already, the X5 offers unbeatable sound quality for a compact with some portability.
