  • Good price - 7w Philips globes at Bunnings are $12 EACH

  • Bought these when they were 2 for 9.95
Really bright , however in under 6 weeks 3 out of 4 have turned in to strobe lights.
Also they flicker when off (I understand that is due to older house wiring)

Maybe i got a bad batch but approach with caution

Should be able to take back for warranty replacement?

  • These are 400 lumen light bulbs, OK for very small rooms like your bedroom and corridors but not suitable for living areas or the kitchen.

I bought 10 of these bulbs but ended up returning 6 of them. For the rest, I went with Phillips LED bulbs from DSE.

    • how bright are the Phillips?

      • I love the Philips. Very bright. Most of mine are either the 800lm/9w for bedrooms and 12.5w/1050lumens for dining/kitchen and bathroom. I like lots of light in these rooms.

Warm white is actually not yellow like these ikea ones (2700K), but rather 3000K which is a nice white warm colour, yet not cold and sterile like cool white.

        • but uses alot more power as well, that more then most fluros

  • White rather than warm / yellow? - Might be an age thing but I can't stand white white globes.
Also I thought LED was super efficient, isn't 7w not that much better than the CFL tube lights?

    • I'm the opposite.
Love the few cool white globes we have in floor lamps around the house.
Makes a nice contrast from the warm white Halogen downlights.
Cool white is also more Kelvins.
Hard to find a LED Cool White Small Edison Screw for my IKEA Not Floor Lamp (one that doesn't cost $15-$20 for an E14 <10w bulb)

Hehe I'm the opposite, I find cool white globes so glary and functional looking. Makes me feel like I'm in a dentist surgery.

        • It works well at the computer but its not as nice in the lounge.
I put in a warm white E14 and it just didn't feel right to read under. Need those extra Kelvins.

  • I bought more than 10 of these ikea 10W 7W bulb, they become extreme hot after a while, and after couple months one third has flicking problem. I suspect it consume a lot more power than what it state and the heat killing the transformer. Afterward I go for Philips 10W and 14.5W, just a little bit warm when in use.

    400 lumens is pretty dull.
equivalent of 40W (incandescent lighting - like your tungsten filament old lights…) I'd guess?

    use that as reference
