OO.com.au 20% off Store Wide with VISA Checkout; $20 off $100 Minimum Spend

280
Visa2020FORU

Similar to this offer 2 months ago. 20% off store wide when you use Visa Checkout & coupon code Visa20. One day only (2 September).

Clearance items included. For example Sony MDR-AS400iP or Sony MDR-XB400 under $16 delivered.

Apparently Visa wouldn't checkout this morning. Technical issue from OO.com.au maybe? They have sent the alternate code 20FORU which gives $20 off with $100 minimum spend. Definitely not as good, however does not require Visa checkout.

Visa20 is still working at applying discount, but Visa Checkout is not. Coupon code is no longer working (at 3PM). Consider this deal expired.

I'm trying to contact OO regarding the situation.

It's not working for me. On last payment step when I press pay in visa checkout I keep getting "An error occurred".

    • Same here. They are basically getting us to test their new payment system, and its not up to scratch

I find OO.com.au really hard to navigate and find good deals. Probably deliberate.

Prices for bedroom furniture have been jacked up during the same

    • … but not all furniture. A friend of mine bought a TV Unit for $99 last week and it's still $99. Shame she didn't wait until today! Oh well, I wont be telling her ;)

  • VISA checkout seems to fail… Error has occurred, please contact us it says… zzzz

    • for me too at 8:52 am

      • Same. Lame. Anyone successful?

  • Has anybody managed to use the visa20 code?
They still have the big clearance going from yesterday…only for another hour and with the 20% discount some items are really good

    • such as? :)

      • they had a Blanco ceramic cooktop for $499 and with the 20% off visa checkout it would have been $399. And free delivery.

The retail price is $1629 and other online sites sell it for around $900.
Never mind…I missed out. Deal just finished and it is now gone up to $699+$22.95 delivery. Total $582.15 with the 20% off visa checkout ($183.15 more than 10 minutes ago…).

  • If you want to buy something from oo.com.au, you need to check if the product is brand new before you check out.
I bought PS Vita priced $218 three weeks ago and they sent me scratched used one wrapped with bubble wrap. No original package and serial number ripped off. The product description didn't say it was a brand new neither a preowened.
I returned the item strait away but haven't got refund yet.
Lesson learnt for myself. oo sells damaged goods for brand new price without saying it is preowened and used.

    • I decked out an apartment I rented pretty much all through purchases on OO and didn't have that problem mate.

  • Just got the LG 60" down to $2k,so seems to work from a Chrome browser on an Android phone.

Didn't complete the transaction as I'm sitting near a Good Guys and going to have a crack at them doing their advertised online price matching and hoping they don't notice that the OO price is for a refurb.

  • Now they have a Sheffield Table Top Oven w/Dual Hot Plates for $99.95…down to $79.96 with the 20% off visa checkout. RRP is $269.99

RE Visa checkout error: Philippines call centre guy "France" told me it's a known error, and to try again later.

If you look at the response from the Visa checkout request, some nitwit is trying to use an invalid api code to try and talk to Visa. (You'd think you'd test your ecommerce website before you put it live…)

    Edit:

    x-merchant-api-key "undefined"

They just sent me a $20 voucher code. it's "20FORU" with minimum $100 spend because of Visa Checkout failure

    • yeah, not quite the same… good try OO

    • shame you cant apply both at the same time..

    • Well it's definitely different from the promotion I received yesterday and arguably much worse than 20% off no minimum spend.

Not to mention "Visa20" is still working on OO.com.au.

  • might wanna update the voucher code…its 20FORU now…apparently some problem with visa checkout

  • any worthy bargain though?

  • +2

Was after an Item under 100 dollars now due to their updated code I cant get discount ffs.

  • Visa20 says code expired 1-9 wtf no deal item I wanted is 169 and 20 off 100 is not the same shame on you Oo.com

    • Got to admit, I hate that time

"Sorry but that coupon expired on 01/09/2015 00:9I:00"

  • Sigh, had 1k of items ready to purchase so this new coupon is useless :( Said they'll rerun once the gateway issue is fixed with Visa…

20FORU Code still worked for me and ALLOWED me to purchase $100 of OO giftcards for $80!!
    GoGOGO

    • +1

Buy gift cards then wait for VISA20 to work again … good thinking.

      • Uh.. no. Because if you're paying on gift card, you're not paying on visa. It's not going to stack.

        (I presume)

Or does Visa checkout not require billing to a Visa card?

    • +1

Oh what … you get the gift card code right away, and you can keep buying them / keep using 20FORU … TO KEEP BUYING GIFT CARDS USING YOUR GIFT CARDS AS PAYMENT

      SERIOUSLY …. GO GO GO

      • +1

        Yup that's right ;)

      • Can someone do the math for me? My head hurts :P

        • Don't worry too much about it. They may cancel the credits and refund any payments used which in the end I'm ok about it as something that was done initially out of curiosity was not meant to be exploited anyways. Basically you get $20 free credit everytime you repeat the process.

  • 20FORU not working for me

  • Got my order refunded by OO.com.au after using all my gift vouchers

    • Ah well… For me I did actually pay for the gift cards with PayPal. About $640 which is worth $800 credits plus a few voucher to voucher remdeptions. Were you in similar boat or did you just do voucher to voucher redemptions and only paid for the starting voucher?

      • I racked up $400 of value from my original $80. They still need to refund me (or reissue) the original first gift voucher bought.

Paid $279 PayPal on top, and that got refunded

        • Does that mean you cycled through the code and gift cards 16 times?

        • @ruddj: yup, was really just a test of their system. Guess we've helped them fix some site exploits.

    • All my credits were taken away including ones I paid for. This is really not good from OO. They emailed us a $20 off code with no restrictions on what you can not use it on. We used it in good faith and reused it again as it did not mention it as a one off code. Now they cancel our credits as we used it on gift cards. They fail to give any communication on this at all.

This will be taken to the ACCC ombudsmen if they don't not resolve this for me.

      • I got told that their terms and conditions for payment / checkout don't allow gift card purchase with gift card payment, but didn't really bother looking.

Seems reasonable for them to cancel these orders else possibly go broke from basically unlimited value vouchers, but agree that on face value since there are no restrictions then they're kind of asking for trouble. I would think a good compromise would be to allow us to have the first voucher purchase kept ($100), especially when they wasted our time with VISA20.

I'm still waiting to hear back from them on that one…

        • There is no where in the terms and conditions that state you cannot use your credits to purchase a gift voucher. They are in error here. And not just that, they fail to communicate to the purchaser before cancelling the credits. Furthermore they even failed to reimburse my PayPal purchases of $640 for the gift cards. This is not an expensive lesson for them. It was probably only just yourself and my purchases affected.

Just imagine if I posted this as a new OZB deal which I actually hesitated and ended up posting as an add on comment, "just for their sake".

Already sent them an email on this to honour my purchases and reinstate my $1200 credits before furthering this matter to ACCC.

        • Keep me in the loop, I'd be interested to hear the outcome. Just make sure the OO website doesn't state the gift card re-buying thing … maybe take a copy of their T&C's before they change it in reaction to this!

Yup, I was almost going to post this as a new post too…

        • @kickling:

After almost 1 month via PayPal dispute I was able to get them reinstate my 8 PayPal purchased gift certificates value. But my other 40+ transactions using gift certificates to purchase gift certificates, they would not admit their technical faults and negligence in their terms and conditions. I offered to accept a small $300 compensation instead of the full $1180 they owe me.

They refused, hence I have already lodged a case with the ACCC to get my full $1180 back.

Go here and lodge your case too.
          https://www.accc.gov.au/contact-us/contact-the-accc/consumer…
Just attach your legit tax invoice for the gift certificates and also save a copy of their 20foru code and terms and conditions.

          Good luck!

        • @Mirage:
Mind you, I tried purchasing last night with their Masterpass promo and it failed badly with errors plus charging my credit card with no order numbers, similar to this last VISA checkout blunder. They seriously did not learn from their last mistakes!

        • @Mirage: Oh awesome. I got my $100 gift card reinstated and used it with the Masterpass promo for more wine. I'd be interested to know how you go, I didn't buy as many as you so I think I'll give it a miss with ACCC.

  • looks like they have the visa deal again today BUT i tried it and it still doesnt work for me. =(
