  • It's a nice deal!

wish this is permanent price not just honeymoon 3 months - i dont mind giving up the unlimited call and text, but keep 2gb

    • +1

Same, I don't care about the unlimited talks, just need the data for $20 life time.

      • any suggestion? the closes one i found is vaya $18, 1.5G. but their review is terribly bad i am afraid to move.
currently on TPG 3G network only i want 4G network, couple hundred $ calls, 1.5-2GB data, all for around $20-24

        • +1

Vaya have changed to billing in per kb rather than per mb so the data lasts a long time compared to how it was before. I've been with vaya ever since liveconnected raised prices and I've had no issues.

        • +2

Vaya product is fine - it's just Optus 4G. Their customer service is terrible though.

$28/month would get you 2.5GB ($18 for 1.5GB + 1GB for $10 and if you use less than 1.5GB in the month you'll only pay the $18 - I hate paying for stuff I don't always use). "$650 worth of calls" too.

      • +6

I'm on Amaysim Flexi ($19.90), and i get about 500MB which comes with the plan + 2.5GB data purchased from the 'credit'. I only ever use data and whatsapp/facetime call most friends. Technically it's around 3GB of data with unlimited texts/calls to Amaysim numbers for $20 :D

        • Damn that sounds awesome, wonder if I can get my gf to switch to it. Do you get unlimited sms to any network? Is it 4g internet?

        • @Agret:

          Only to Amaysim numbers unfortunately.

          And yes it's 4G :)

        • I'm currently on an old TPG 1Gb for $20, so I'm not gonna move anywhere until I've someone giving 2Go for less than $25.

        • so you pay 19.90 for the plan and then add 19.90 for 2.5gb data? thats not cheap

        • +1

@retailtips: me too even less than $20 because i have adsl with them but 1gb isnt enough and i drooling of 4G network speed

        • +4

          @erwinsie:

The $19.90 plan gives you $19.90 credit, so i use the credit to buy more data.

          https://www.amaysim.com.au/mobile-plans/amaysim-flexi

        • @piglet1: ah i see. so for me probably i will just buy extra 1g for $9.90 so i will end up having 1.5GB data and $10 for call/text

        • @piglet1: So close to be pretty good. but the fact we don't have like an hour of call included is annoying. You can easily have surprises at the end of the month paying extra things. I guess you can go with 1Go extra, and that leaves you with $10 credit left to call and sms, if I understand it correctly.
so for $20 you have 1.5Go and a bit of creadit for small sms and talk. Sounds good.

        • @piglet1:
I am currently on Flexi plan but I do not know how to buy data pack from my amaysim credit; each time I bought a data pack it added up to the next bill and charged to my credit card. Could you tell me how to buy data pack without topping up the next month bill cause I have lots of rolled over credit? I already had a chat with an amaysim operator but the guy seems clueless. Thanks.

        • With Amaysim FLEXI, does the unused credit rollover if it's recharged before the expiry date? That's the case with Amaysim PAY AS YOU GO.

        • +1

          @haovit:

By right it shouldn't charge to your card and deduct from your Flexi credit. How long have you been with Amaysim? I had this issue too when I moved to their 4G plan and had to call them up each month for them to reverse the charge as it appears to be a system bug, but has now been fixed (at least for me!). Please call them up and make them reimburse the data pack charges :(

        • @piglet1:
I've been with them for more than 2 years now. I guess I have to call them up. Many thanks.

  • That's what I'm talking about. 2Gb of data for $20. Just annoying it's only for 3 months.
Any tips to have that $20 all the time ?

  • The unlimited is likely worth it but 2gb disappears in a flash.

    • Depends on your usage. I have 5GB and only used 600Mb this month over 25 days.

I also use my phone frequently to check my emails and ozbargain while im work and out.

      • Good to see it's kB counted, wasn't always.

        • +1

They changed to kb when they introduced the 4G plans

might even downgrade to this plan to save $15 per month

  • Why it's 'Wechat'? Tencent conquered Amaysim?

    • Good one. Probably just a promo for WeChat customers

  • I see no one noted this yet so it might seem obvious but it wasn't obvious to me at first:
The title seem to imply $20.93 is the total cost for 3 months, may be should put "$20.93 per month for first 3 months"?

The best I have found for my husband is Lebara. He is currently using a half price first month offer and really likes it. Then we will pay $300 for 12 months, which means we will pay $25 a month for all unlimited and 4gb data. If you pay monthly it's $30 a month but I think Lebara provides 10% back, so makes it 27. Also if you buy 12 months or autotop data doubles, 4gb instead of 2gb. Can't find anything that beats it for medium/heavy internet usage.
I personally use Telstra freedom, as I am a light user and I like to spend credit to recharge daughter's phone and buy apps on google play,

  • International call not included right? Need to pay extra? My telechoice include international

    • I don't think any international minutes are included

    • Correct, no international calls included.

  • ERROR error unable to process order. I tried 6 times. Error still. Gave up went to Vodafone no error.

    • change browsers. i recall this happened to me a few months back with chrome. changed to IE and worked fine

  • -1

    same error error error

  • How long will this coupon last? Does it have an expiry date? I was hoping to wait closer to the end of the month to change. Cheers

  • Hey, I've tried using your referral link, it says that the code expires on 31st August. Perhaps generate a new link?
    Thanks!

    • It means WECHAT is expired. You can still use his link and links does not expire.

      • Sorry, I'm not sure if I am doing this right. Upon clicking his link, it says to use the DEAL50 code when purchasing. So I clicked on buy sim for Flexi, entered my details and at the payment page I entered DEAL50 which did not work.

        Thank for your reply

        • Yes, so it seems DEAL50 code is expired.

        • I entered DEAL50 which did not work.

Use promo code WECHAT for the promo in deal title.

DEAL50 expired (its for a different offer) but they havent updated the website

        • @easternculture:

Oh I see, I thought the DEAL50 code for to redeem the referral $10. So what do I do to get that $10? I'm interested in getting flexi btw.
After I clicked the link I just go to a page. Sorry, it's not very clear to me.

        • @jienius:

          • First Click referral link
          • Then click on Mobile Plans Tab
          • Choose unlimited 2GB plan
          • Checkout
          • Enter code WECHAT at last page of checkout
        • @easternculture:

Ok, thanks. I just used your referral, hope you got your $10!

  • Thanks - have switched my wife from old $20 telechoice plan where she has hit the call limit for the last 2 months.

I will give Optus 4G network a try (hopefully much better experience than we had with optus 3G a few years ago…)

I have tried for cashrewads $36 cashback, but am not overly hopefull given their disclaimer:
"Important: Use of coupons that are not advertised on this site may cancel rewards."

  • 7.2c/MB ($72/GB) excess is just stupid.
But these deals are amaysim. Getting on board!

    • So you buy data pack ( 1 gb for $9.90) and stay happy.

  • WECHAT code is still working - used it today

    • +1

      So it's a good deal?

  • Just used code (again), no probs!
