    Still not cheap enough.

This is actually really a test for how much you think your time is really worth.

Why? For those who already paid subscrption, freetix tickets are like free and there is no financial reason not to watch it (I don't watch because this one get low rating on IMDB). In fact all freetix tickets sell so fast, that I had to write a python script to get myself notified whenever they have a new deal (Google alert doesn't work because this site is ajax-only, very bad SEO).

Because the movie is that bad.

        • I didn't think it was that bad, average but not nearly as bad as what the "critics" say! I've seen worse.

Blahman is saying just because the movie is free doesn't mean it's worth your time, it has nothing to do with money. If you could do anything with two hours, why spend it on a free movie that is bad? It's not worth the time.

  • If it is in Melbourne and time is not 5:45 pm, I will definitely join

  • Anyone have experience with Freetix/any good?

  • Never heard of them before. I hesitate giving them my credit card number. Is there a cancel my membership option online? How do I know they wouldn't renew the membership and charge my credit card without asking next year? It's probably somewhere hidden in the t&c but I think they should be upfront about it on the main page.

    • It is basically Groupon-like company charging you membership fee so you think you are special when getting a deal.

      Their terms and conditions state:

5.7 Where you have successfully applied for membership in Freetix you have also automatically opted in for renewal of your membership in Freetix for future years commencing on the first anniversary of your membership in Freetix and then each anniversary thereafter. You may opt out of automatic renewal of your membership in Freetix for future years by notifying Freetix in writing prior to any anniversary of your membership in Freetix. Where you have paid your Membership Fees by credit card or debit card and have not opted out of automatic renewal of your membership in Freetix you are deemed to have authorized Freetix to debit your Membership Fees for any future years from your debit card or credit card.

So basically, send them an email requesting to opt-out of the automatic renewal.

I've used my membership twice in the last month so far and forsee using it quite abit more before the end of the 12 month period so it's worth it to me. I would otherwise be going to the movies with $11 Telstra Thanks tickets with my fiancé and friends so it's good value for me. My brother has been dying to see Pixels so I would have ended up buying tickets to see this (far exceeding my membership fee). It's not for everyone, but I'm going to get good use out of it =)

  • Here are the reasons not to bother:

    a) It's rated 5.6 on IMDB (that's bad - I wouldn't even watch something for free in my own house without having to move which is below a 7.0)
    b) It's starring Adam Sandler.

    QED.

Not criticising the poster for posting the deal as some people will surely watch it, just criticising the movie itself.

    • As someone who regularly watches movies that are rated below 5 on IMDB I'd have to say that it really depends on the individual.

But obviously you're right, why bother going to the movie if you know you wont enjoy it.

I'm taking my brother who has been wanting to watch it since the movie trailer first came out on YouTube, so definitely worth the bother for me.

      • Good on you, I don't begrudge anyone wanting to watch a movie, but I've found IMDb movies below 7 to not be worth it (there are obviously exceptions, but I'm dealing with this as a general rule).
