    • Don't get ahead of yourself.

  • How big is this coconut water? 1lt?

    • Quick edit from TA, it originally didn't have volume.

    • +1

Can't seriously be 1L. If 1L I will stock up and bath in it!

Nudie 1L coconut water usually $5.99 at Woolie and $4.99 when on sale. I can't see other brands going down to $1/L. Maybe 500ml/600ml or less.

      • +1

Why can't you see that? This is a product which is made with cheap ingredients which are combined to present you with the sugar water you love. There is plenty of room for discounting.

  • TA,Thank you for your time to update all the special for next week. Your effect is much appreciate, as aways.

  • Thanks TA.

  • Thank you Mr TA! :)

    •Mayver's Super Spread 375g $4.24

thought that said Macgyver for a moment :)

    • +1

      Apparently it's quite tasty.

  • I've been looking at those Wifi Dongle and it's a bargain for $49 if it's this one http://www.optus.com.au/shop/prepaid/mobile-broadband/wifi/e…
Perfect for my needs, can plug in at home/the office and use the same device with a powerbank when I'm out and about.
Will wait for the telstra one though, I read somewhere they have different frequencies.

    • In terms of 4G frequencies it covers the Telstra ones, but not the Telstra 3G frequencies.

    • +1

      Whirlpool thread - Huawei E8372h

Freq differences based on website specs:
      Telstra
      3G 850/2100
      4G 700/1800/2100/2600

      Optus
      3G 900/2100
      4G 700/1800/2300/2600
A WP user found that 4G 2100Mhz is supported by the Optus variant.

Optus is unlocked vs Telstra locked.

      • There is very little 2100MHz 4G around and is unlikely to be into the future. Telstra will have more than Optus though.

        • Hadn't looked into the amount of 2100MHz 4G but after doing so, locally at least (Cairns), it appears Optus + VF are going to be adding bunch of that freq.

        • @awoff1:

Optus are going to have some really unhappy 3G customers then as that is where the bulk of their 3G capacity normally is.

A populace that is fat, addicted to sugar products, and entertained by Master Chef is a populace that is obedient, complacent and unwilling to protest at the gradual chipping of their rights. 1984 was not meant to be used as a manual. Idiocracy was not meant to be a documentary.

      • +12

You are reading an awful lot into some cheap Drumsticks.

        • Yes they are reading rather a lot into it when the real reason is rather banal and there for everyone to see if they wish: the food retailing and food processing industries simply uses every lever they can to make people eat as much as possible.

They consider it unfortunate that this causes people to become unhealthy (and actually they are worried about their manipulation coming to bite them on the ass like big tobacco).

The only links to da gummints that this paranoid is reading too much into is to ensure the message is on point with regards to eating as much as possible. Therefore instead of having a public policy of telling it's citizens to not eat as much da gummints has a policy involving the fanciful notion that you may eat what you wish provided that you exercise enough to burn the calories you took in.

Which is idiotic - except to the food retailing and processing industries because now you're to blame when you didn't exercise.

If you take a look you will see this repeated in most develpoed nations other than a few Scandinavian ones who, for some reason, seem to have politicians more interested in public health than money and power.

        • @Diji1: How is this comparable to tobacco? I'm pretty sure that going for a swim and a jog is not going to negate the effects of cigarettes.

Seriously, people need to be responsible for their choices. I know sugar is bad for me, but I still eat it, because I know that in moderation, and with exercise, the amoun I consume is "ok". However, I can't say the same about my love of cigars, as I know they are probably killing me and not smoking them is the only way to negate their effect.

Where do you want to stop? After sugar what is next? Bacon? Because if anyone tries to ban bacon I'm gunning for them.

      • Great comment. Although, I think 1984 is a manual. Idiocracy didn't quite get there as a film, but as a doco it could be more believable, I think.

INDETERMINATE, UNKNOWN or AVERAGE CATEGORY = Junk food IMO…
based on the list of items here…

    • Um … so what?

    • +1

Mayver's Super Spread is certainly not junk food. From memory, I believe it's just three or four nuts made into a spread. No other added nasties.

    Vodafone $40 Combo Recharge Pack $20 with Infinite Calls/Texts & 3GB Data

Sounds good. What's the catch? Purchase limits? Voucher expiry?

    • Vodafone

      • Better than Optus where I live/work/play.

    • According to Vodafone, printed recharge vouchers (as in supermarkets) have a validity of 6 months.

      • Haven't seen the catalogue yet, but maybe they mean Combo Starter Pack?

        • @Steptoe: The Coles catalogue is now available online.

It indeed is a starter pack.

And to be honest, the $40 prepaid combo being available at $20 is actually quite a good deal for those who are okay with Vodafone's coverage.

        • @KaptnKaos:
it shows a starter pack but say recharge pack. Limit of 2.

Might be clunky if you can't just recharge every 28 days using a $20 voucher

      • Would you mind linking me? I looked up the Vodafone website and the $40 Combo online recharge lasts 28 days. Can't find any info on the supermarket recharge.

        • +2

2 different things, 28 days is how long your credit last. 6 months is how long your recharge voucher can last, i.e you need to use the recharge voucher within 6 months.

    • Yeah this sounds great - I pay $30 monthly for 1.5 GB with Vodafone. If they last for six months, could I just purchase 5 of these for $100 and cover myself for the next 5 months, any catch?

      • According to Vodafone, printed recharge vouchers have a validity of six months.

However, what Coles has made available this week is a starter pack. From recent posts on Whirlpool I'm of the understanding that Vodafone starter packs do not have an expiry date. But don't quote me on this.

If this is indeed the case, and you're prepared to port out of and into Vodafone every 28 days, you could technically buy as many as 1) you can afford, or 2) Coles lets you purchase at any given time.

        • I cannot see where "Starter Pack" is specified. Where did you determine it is a Starter Pack please KaptKaos?
Here is the information I could find (from the Coles on-line brochure):
          http://www.coles.com.au/catalogues-and-specials/view-all-ava…

          @BlueSkyHarvest:

It says 'Combo Recharge Pack', but the catalogue picture shows a Starter Pack.

Might be worth discussing this with a Coles service desk. Or, if it is valid for recharges, even at self serve registers.

Add a Recharge to your shop, proceed to the stage just before payment and see if $20 is deducted from the total.

If not, simply inform the attendant that you wish to cancel the Recharge item.

        • +1

          @KaptnKaos:

I tried buying a recharge at a self serve register. Still comes up as $40.

It is only for the $40 starter packs unfortunately.

        • @futaris:

Thanks very much futaris, much appreciated.

So if anyone's interested enough to port out of and into Vodafone on a near-monthly basis, then this would be ideal for them.

  • Anyone able to shed some light on the Sunrice Jasmine Rice? Go or no go?

    • +1

Depends if you are a rice snob?

    • +5

Pretend a restaurant is charging you $35 for half a cupful on a plate. You will love it and taste subtle flavours of elderflower and sea air.

    • +1

      Tasteless :(

      • You're meant to add a curry or a sauce my friend.

    • +1

for me, it's better than their medium & long grain rice, personal preference.

  • Really Tip Top Raisin Toast $2.60 how many weeks that has been half price? Or how many weeks has it been full price might be a better question.

  • I noticed that my WA catalog is more expensive for the rice. $7.70 instead of $6.80 :(

    • +1

Head over to woolies and get it for $6.75 then

      • Awesome thanks! !!

  • rice rice baby, i'm ready for the apocalypse.

  • Merged from Men's Bonds 50% off Coles Nationwide $5.50 3 Pairs of Socks / Singlet, Skinny Cow 50% off

$5.50 for 3 pairs of sports socks (ankle and 3/4 cuts)
$10 for 4 pack (thick elastic, unlike the ones at Woolies where the elastics are marginally thinner)
    $10 Men's Trunk each
    $5.50 Chesty Singlet
    $18 Lounge/Track Pants

All Skinny Cows were also 50% in the refrigerated section. $3.99 for the various varieties cookie types / sundae cups.

Thought I would list it separately from Coles deals for the week as in the past, with the Bonds items once the sale if over, certain OzBargainers would list 2 pairs of the 3 pack socks for $8 as a deal by brodening.
