  • G920 is also available for XB1/PC.

There's also the gearstick attachment available for $63.96 + $9.95, I'm not sure if they'd bundle the shipping cost.

  • Good deal/find, but I seriously question the value of the G29 as a product, when it's basically just an (arguably) nicer looking G27 with better button placement and very minor tweaks (from the reviews I've read/watched).
Seems like it's not worth the money when you can buy a G27 for literally half the price.
    Just my 2c.

They G27 doesn't work with PS4 unless you get some sort of converter. Sony added some "security enhancements" with the PS4 so a bunch of accessories for PS3 won't work with PS4.

      • I'm sure it can be done if logitech want it. My G27 is collecting dust now :(

          It's not Logitech, it's Sony…
          http://www.psu.com/feature/26984/Does-Logitechs-G27-wheel-wo…

The problem is that Sony have additional requirements for accessories (possibly only for steering wheels?).
They now require "an authenticating security chip which handshakes with the console for verification" and as the G27 doesn't have this chip, it won't work without using an adapter like the M4.

        • @legiong:

So why does the thrustmaster T500RS work… it was released well before ps4 came out..

        • @Megahowler:
That's a really good question. Looks like Sony were douchebags and added support only for certain previous generation steering wheels.
I wonder if Sony and Logitech have some rivalry.

        • @legiong:

          or logitech didn't pay Sony

Either way it works out for logitech
cos ppl need to buy a new wheel if they want to use it on ps4

      • +3

Wow, I didn't realise that. That's ridiculous. Logitech say they've been working on a solution to this for the last 2 years, but I guess their solution is just a $400 replacement wheel (G29/G20).
        For those interested - M4 adapter for $55 http://www.match4newconsole.com/product/m4-converter-officia…

        • that's USD price…

76.76 AUD which is a ripoff considering the g27 price was as lower approx $250.

Seriously overpriced. Doesn't even come with a shifter.

“I don't think its a good deal” is an inappropriate use of neg vote.

Standard price of this steering wheel is $500 and it's discounted to $415.
      This is a deal.

    • I agree.

Logitech are price gouging, when the g27 had a shifter included.

      • I agree it's overpriced and I certainly wouldn't buy one (though I do want one), but bear in mind that the G27 was up around $550 to $600 when it was first released.

        • +1

Well all new items would be costly.

          That's why I rather wait…

But not including a shifter is pretty dodgy

          ===

I already have g27, so only reason you need this is for ps4.

But it is shit that you need to buy a new one just to use it only on ps4, when the g27 could just work as well.

So It is dodgy that logitech or sony not giving it support.
(Most likely logitech did not cough up the money to add support for g27 to ps4, which works out nicely for logitech cos the g27 owners need to buy another g29 just to use it on ps4)..

          ====

What next? ps5 will need another new g30 or something…

Considering that we need to pay almost $450 for each new device (and there is not that much drastic new improvements or features).

          It's just ridiculous!

So I think I will just stick with g27 for pc racing only.

        • @tyler.durden:

Most likely logitech did not cough up the money to add support for g27 to ps4

the ps4 was released 3 years after the g27…

        • @mr kindface:

I mean sony can add support to the ps4 detection of the g27, but i think logitech did not want to pay.

Or both company are in it together, to get more money.

Since logitech would have been working on a new wheel during that time, and best way they can sell more wheels is to stop existing g27 owners from using their own wheels on ps4.

Sony controls the firmware that detect wheels/devices, but they choose not to support g27, but there should not be any reason why it should not work.
Does g29 offer any new features or buttons that is not available on g27?

It's all just a ploy by sony, logitech to sell more wheels, since g27 owners now have no choice but buy a new wheel if they want to play on ps4.

          ===

Those security chip claim is just bogus to get ppl to pay for new wheels
cos exising thrustmuster wheels works on ps4.

or if it is real then they did this on purpose, so we need to buy new wheels.

          It's just a big money making scam…

  • +1

I don't want to say that it's expensive but i know people which paid around that amount for their first car. Real car!

    • Yeah I sold my car at half that amount….

  • How much is a Thrustmaster wheel that's better then this?
