Available online and in store.

TGG and HN have had similar sales, I guess it is now JB's turn.

$499 is a good price for this handstick. Normally $699.

  • Wasn't this $350 no that long ago?

    • Key word being 'animal'

      • ^ this.

  • Is the D59 Animal and the V6 the same thing? Or is there any upgrades to it?

    • The V6 Animal has a slightly different motorised head to the DC59 Animal. The new "direct drive cleaner head", which is the latest Dyson head. Allegedly with ~50% more suction than their previous head.

From what I understand the motors are the same (V6).

The DC59 Animal, and V6 (standard) are ultimately the same thing. Minus the mini motorised head for animal hair, couches, cars, etc.

  • Is the only difference between this and the standard V6 the included mini-motorised head?

    • The included main head is slightly different/upgraded as well (see above).

      • +1

hmmm….I wonder how much difference it makes.
The rep at TGG basically said the were the same thing, the main difference being the added attachment (mini motor head).

I think it's better value to pick up a V6 on sale and add on the mini-motor head if you really need it. If you were lucky to get the $320 deal then you can add the mini-motor head on and still be under $400

        • Agreed. It's touch and go in terms of value.

Cheapest the standard V6 is at the moment is about $399 (TGG), plus ~$80 for the mini head puts it at ~$480 anyway.

Which in my opinion is enough to make me go the V6 Animal for +$20 and the improved head.

    • The V6 has a motorised head, what is the mini motorised head used for? getting into small spaces?
Edit: Oh I see, it is used for car seats etc without the long adaptor.

      • I 'think' you'll find the standard V6 has the standard head (same as the old DC59), whereas the V6 Animal has the new self-motorised head.

        (see pic url below)

Most retailers seem to advertise the motorised head on both, but there is a weight difference and a few keywords changed on the Dyson website itself.

        • The standard V6 is motorised, I bought one and have checked.

        • The same as the head pictured on the right with the wider opening?

          Good to know. Thanks.

        • @Notts:

No, it's the one on the left.

        • +1

@whitey: If yours is the one on the left, its not motorised, its air driven.
