(SYD/MEL) Dish'd Mega Boxes up to 60% off ($9 - $25) - Minimum Order $50 + Free Delivery

880

I nearly missed the last dish'd deal, so I thought I'd put this up for others.

Up to 60% of regular prices for Mega Boxes - a themed selection of products - including:

Yum Yum Yum Cha (mix of appetisers)
Viva Italiana! (pizzas and pastas)
Simple Sides (includes the awesome-looking romanesque broccoli - fractal me out backwards)
We Heart Salmon (atlantic salmon from Norway 2 x 700gm packs - 12 portions - $25)
Sweet Tooth Heaven (selection of desserts, including 1l tub of fiordilatte gelato)
Herb Essentials (1 of everything for $9)
Gelati Fun (7 x 150ml gelati in different flavours)
Soup-A-Dooper (price is wrong on the image - it's $20 for 10 soups at checkout)
Berry Tasty (10 packs of smoothie fruit)

If you don't mind eating frozen fish, I reckon the salmon deal is the best.

Minimum $50 for delivery, limited Click & Collect locations available.

EDIT: Thanks to BargainLuver and dishd Food Store for pointing out you can order the individual items in the Mega Boxes at the discount price.

I can use my voucher now!

    • is it possible to get vouchers for others? :)

      • It is a one use only for $25 voucher

        • thanks, got it

    • Thank you for reminding me about the coupon, i totally forgot about it!

      Ordered 3 Salmon packs :D

  • +1

The frozen salmon was terrible. Odd texture and flavour, will stick to buying fresh..

    • Mine tasted fine, very similar to fresh.

I put a piece in a container, in the fridge the night before to let it defrost over about 18 hours.

    • Mine was fine, in fact excellent texture and taste

Maybe you got a bad batch?

    • We defrosted the salmon overnight and then pan-fried and it was great. Goes well with the Pearl Couscous salad.

    • It's never going to be as good as fresh but I thought it wasn't too dissimilar. Certainly for that price, you can't be too picky.

    • Are these salmons packed in a box or in a loose bag or vacuum sealed bag? Just want to see how much stuff I can fit in my freezer at the moment. Boxes will take up more space in the freezer.

      • +1

No box. In a plastic bag with each piece individually wrapped (vac sealed?) inside that….so should be able to pack 'em in!

  • +13

I took advantage of the last sale (a few times) and had such a good experience - the box is delivered and packaged with plenty of dry ice so everything stays cold, even if you don't get home until late.

Then you get to spend time annoying your partner by playing with said dry ice and creating plumes of fog in the kitchen…

    • +2

Me too! I had a really good experience. $50 for like a months worth of food.

This time it's sorta similar with my $25 voucher, 31 items is $55

Gotta return the old boxes too, taking up space in my balcony lol

      • +2

Can I ask how you ggot this $25 voucher?

        • They sent me a survey to do ages ago (~xmas time?) and at the end of the survey you got $25 voucher to use next time.

  • I don't understand the promotion….do you need to buy the "Mega Box" as is to get the maximum discount or can you pick and choose what you want from each and mix between different mega boxes?

    Anyone understand it?

    • +1

You have to get the pack to get the discount, if you remove or add one item i think it becomes normal price?

      • oops I removed heaps items… and paid for it without looking at total.. hmmm

    • +2

Looks to me like the mega box promo is just a gimmick. These mega boxes seem to consist of already discounted individual items, so you can add a mega box and then remove items from your cart without impacting the level of discount.

      Hi djz

The individual items in the Mega Boxes are discounted so you can choose to purchase a single item or for convenience choose a Mega Box.

      Regards,

      Team@dish'd

      • Thanks for this additional info - was able to mix and match

        • For mix & match is it only the similar product at the same price? e.g. Can't swap chocolate gelato for lemon?

        • +1

@anastasiastarz: you will need to test it out on the site but I added a few mega boxes and it came to about $70 but some of the items, though nice I just don't eat it so I started deleting items and getting 2 lots of my faves. Hope that helps.

      • Seems like PayPal is not working, more comments down below stating the same!

We are sorry to hear you are having an issue paying with PayPal. Please feel free to contact our team on 13 12 10 or email us [email protected] and we'll look into this for you.

  • Are they discounting to move older stock or to clear before ceasing trade?

    • No

They probably made extra batches as part of testing or training and need to get rid of old stock before it expires.

Dont think they are ceasing trading where did you get that crazy idea from? Did you say the same thing last time they had that $50 deal or the one prior to that?

Could be an error of judgment on that part.

      • I try adding individual, and it's still the discount price. I'm stocking up for more 1lt icecream now.

      • The stuff I have bought comes from France. So I don't know about the training or testing idea.

So I guessed either moving older stock before it is past their best before dates.

(You do realise Dish'd is part of Simplot Australia, who is a massive company.)

or the business as not worked and they are dropping it…

the first time the just started operating, last time I order a few weeks back I assumed it was older stock, but selling it off again says to me something is going on their or their sale didn't sell these left over items that are on sale now.

edit: Reason being where is all the meat, surely they would have restocked food by now?

  • +1

how much is frozen salmon normally

did some research. seems to be around $30/kg so this is good deal. assuming u don't mind the taste etc

  • The dried herb seems like a good deal. Dried basil only cost $0.91 for 50g while Woolworth charging close to $2 for 10g.

    • +1

The frozen herbs are great - really fresh and vibrant and they tumble out of the pack so easily.

      • Thanks! I will stock up more!!

      • +1

I found some of them to be 'chopped' way too coarsely, specifically ginger, chilli and garlic.

  • +1

If I had any room left in the freezer after the 40% off sale last month, I would jump on this.

  • is it only me or is there only yum yum cha left?

    EDIT: NVM!

    • There's everything available - you just have to use the drop down menu, looks like its only yum cha as it's the first mega box

    • You're better off looking at the normal menu, the mega boxes don't work out any cheaper than if you purchase the items separately. If you go to the normal menu you can pick and choose the discounted items that you want (or the non-discounted items too)

  • awesome deal! ordered four packs of frozen salmon fillets 5.6kg, for $100 delivered.
am generally impressed by their quality of food, however i don't know whether i'd pay their regular prices, so generally get excited when deals like this come up.

    • me too - any 40-60% off deals are great and the quality for 'frozen food' you get is quite impressive. Makes good quick dinners or lunches when you are feeling too lazy to cook.

      • +1

        Just need a bigger freezer!

        • haha conveniently house sitting for a few weeks so have access to a new freezer since my last dish'd order

  • +1

anyone else having issues paying via paypal?

    • Nope, I paid via PP and no issues.

      What error did u get

      • I kept getting errrors for paypal aswell. Ended up using AX.

    • could not pay via paypal, paid using credit card

      • Ditto. When tried to pay with PayPal it just said "something went wrong" and showed a dropped/smashed egg. Visa worked fine, would prefer to use PayPal for the removal of credit card fraud risk if their site ever gets hacked, but prepared to pay this merchant with Visa as had good experiences with them before.

  • Shame no Delivery to NSW Central Coast, :-(

  • Went through and picked out all my meals just to find out they don't deliver to my area :( Oh well it's still a good deal.

    • +2

      Hi Jordan23140,

We are sorry to hear we don't deliver to your area. We're unsure whether you are located in Sydney or Melbourne however, if you are in Melbourne we do offer an option of click and collect and picking the order up from our store located at 31 Izett Street, Prahran. Click and Collect collections are available Tuesday - Friday.

      Regards,

Just stocked up! Just wish I had a bigger freezer

  • Unfortunately they are ceasing trade :-(

    • +1

      Sauce?

      • +2

No , just salt and pepper thanks ;)

  • $50 minimum for all orders… that's New.

    • I noticed that change too.

It was originally $50 minimum for free delivery, I think there was a charge of $10 if it was under $50. Then it went up to $80 minimum with free delivery, don't know if there was charge for under $80.

      • I ordered a few weeks ago and the minimum for pick up was $20

        • Oh, I hadn't even thought about pickup - I didn't think there was a limit at all for that.
What did the stock levels look like in-store -dwindling?

        • @catbrain:
It seemed quite a vibrant place when I went in to pick up in Prahran. Just ducked in and got my order, I didn't notice stock levels. I guess no one is going to do this if $50is the minimum, that's the same as delivery.
So everyone is referring to Dish'd closing. Is this confirmed?

  • Didn't really need this but placed an order anyway! Can't wait to receive the goodies :)

  • +1

Have Googled " Dish'd closing" and " Dish'd shutting down" and can see nothing.
    Just a rumor?

    • +1

      It looks that way.

I'm looking forward to more deals from them in the future and it would be a shame if they stopped. I've referred family and friends to them also.I had never heard of them before the July deal on this site (even though they have had deals posted before).

To be honest I would probably pay full price for a few of the items including the goats cheese and tomato relish pastry puffs - they are divine, and the frozen mango is that nice mix between sweet and tartiness and just as cheap as woolies. After my first order from the July 40% off deal, I ended up buying 5 packs worth of the pastry puffs and 5 of the frozen mango in my next order, along with a few other things.

My freezer is bursting with Dish'd food. I've had to take some things out of the boxes just so I could get it to fit. I've removed my ice maker to fit some pastas in that spot, and I've filled the ice bucket up with diced mango.

    • +2

Someone asked the question on their Facebook page and they denied it. Phew.

  • Thanks for this. I live on Central Coast, so no delivery for me, but ordered to my dads work in Sydney. Looking forward to trying.

  • Ordered yesterday at 20.38 pm and it was delivered at 11.33am today. Great job Dish'd`!

    • pics?

      • my girlfriend has already unpacked everything from a box in the freezer when I came home… Hazelnut gelato is awesome!

  • Got my order today, a little hit and miss. The tomato sauce pasta I got was nice but the cannelloni and the butter ravioli was pretty meh. The gelato is really nice though! Shame ive spent like $60 on pastas :S

  • Got my order today, going to try the salmon tonight

    • You are in Sydney? Probably best of leaving it to defrost overnight and trying it tomorrow, although the portions are quite small and would maybe defrost in time for dinner.

But I think you would get the best texture and flavour if you leave it to defrost in the fridge overnight.

      • You can defrost in the kitchen sink with water. Doesn't take too long at all.

    • Thanks for the recommendations, I didn't end up cooking it overnight. It's currently in the fridge to defrost and going to cook it tomorrow for breakfast

  • +1

Thank you guys got my package today.
And even the dry ice was useful. Made some amaze softserve vanilla ice cream.

Will comment on the food and herbs later lol.
