Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware is a fast, effective and very popular on-demand antivirus tool
It's worth noting that the Premium version offered here is an unlimited lifetime, non-expiring license.
Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware has recently moved to an annual subscription model, where any license purchased will only run for 12 months before you have to renew it.

I picked one of these deals up a couple of years ago. Well worth it, especially when you factor in that the licence is for three (from memory) computers.
says 1 PC in the title?
Oh, ok. Pity.
The deal I got back when for a lifetime licence (similar to this one) allowed three simultaneous installations.
That sounds pretty good. Is it a good deal otherwise? I'm a bit of a n00b, i used the free version of this recently to get rid of some hijacking stuff and it worked great.
Looking back I picked my deal up at http://bitsdujour.com - generally the bitsdujour deals are directly back to the software owner, i.e. no middle agents. I obtained Acronis through bitsdujour as well. It was $10.00 for a generous multi-pc license.
Apart from malwarebytes you might want to look into Spyshelter, if for no other reason than you find out even M$ is monitoring your keyboard - there's a free version.
@GuiGuy: +1 for the bigsdujour. Picked up a few pieces of nice software (soft with forever licenses and a few 12 month ones) :)
Yeah, http://bitsdujour.com is great. got a couple of good apps in the past.
A good deal, but would be a great deal if it did 2 devices, as many people have a PC & a laptop.
Malwarebytes
Anti-Malware Premium V2LifetimeLicense(1 PC) (Digital Download) $27.95 @ PC AuthorityWhat do you get from the premium that you don't get on the free version?
Thanks for that. Basically its auto scanning rather than scanning manually.
Bought it anyway, I've used the free version for countless years, they deserve some dosh out of me…
Real time resident scanner and automatic scheduling of scans are a few things. Free version cleans off virii after it's already infected the PC but the Premium version protects the computer from getting infected in the first place as other real time resident antivirus programs do.
yes, the realtime web monitor is especially useful from stopping infections getting onto the PC through scripts on websites in the first place. highly recommended. I have a lifetime licence, but think I need to purchase another for my daughter.
How is this recent version? (read a few places 1.75 was the last great version of this software?)
I wouldn't say that 1.75 was the last great version but it definitely was the last efficient version. I've found 2.x nothing but trouble. So much so that I went back to the free version just to get away from the resident scanner.
Plenty of complaining on the forums about how much it is slowing down users PC's. The only response support could come up with was, "it's still better than having malware on your computer."
Is this current license deal only for the new version ? (will the license work with a previous version?).
I bought mine when version 1.x existed and so yes it works on either version. You can always take a punt and see if the license key can be used with 1.x (I don't see why not) but at the same time I don't see the point because 2.x does have better scanning features, just the resident scanner is a pain and isn't worth the price of admission.
Can you move the license to a new PC?
I bought one license 2 years ago and currently using it on 3 PCs so I guess that's a yes
I moved mine a few times.

summary:
"NOTE: If your old computer is already out of usage, it will be deactivated automatically. In this case you can go ahead and install a fresh copy of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware on your new computer. "
"You will be able to transfer your lifetime license to a newer computer whenever you decide to upgrade or if you reformat your computer, but lifetime licenses are not transferable between users"

i have the free one and bitdefender
Yep, I switched to Bitdefender at home and recommend it to people I know. I've found it to be the most resilient AV/AM software so far (and I've used a lot of them over the years). Let me put it this way; pre-Bitdefender my teenage daughter was always managing to get my home PCs infected, post-Bitdefender I have not had a single infection.
We use Malwarebytes at work as well for malware cleanups but it alone is not enough, you usually need 3-4 tools to clean up with reasonable confidence; ADWCleaner, Junkware Removal Tool, (ComboFix if a heavy infection) and then tidy up with Malwarebytes. Although as we're a school we just normally re-image the kids machines until they learn to stop downloading 'free' stuff off the net! ;)
Were you using any AVs or free AVs at all before getting BitDefender?
I thought MBAM stopped selling perpetual.. ??
Edit: Bought, installed and it's a lifetime license alright..
Sale actually goes through Cleverbridge, which is MBAM's reseller now anyway.
I just bought this and when I enter the code it tells me "Please enter a valid key"
Is anyone else getting this problem?
You have to click on the "I have an ID as well" button, and put the ID in.
I just worked it out, Thanks anyway.
Is anyone getting Error code 403? The usage level has exceeded the max volume allowed.
Ive sent an email to cleverbridge and promptly got a new one.
Is all the extras needed? Like CD for reinstall and extended download insurance? I'm assuming both offer options to reinstall when upgrading to new PC. Any feedback is appreciated as I'm a careful novice OZBargainer.
I wouldn't worry about them personally. You can always download a new copy of the program straight from their website. A CD version would most likely be out of date by the time you received it in the mail anyway.
Just make sure you keep a copy of your ID/Key somewhere safe. It's funny that they advertised giving you Cyberlink suite 9 worth $60+ for free if you buy the extended download insurance when Cyberlink is already on version 13 and PC Authority also offers version 9 for free on their website -.-
Does one need the Premium version to protect against Cryptolocker Ransomware if you have an antivirus like Bitdefender running?
Free version works fine for me.
Given the average life of a PC is between 3 and 5 years, this doesn't look like much of a deal to me.It's already been mentioned several times the license is transferable to the new PC
Thanks, got it! Been using them for a while now
Are these actually verified as real rather than keygen, which all verify on the Malwarebytes sites too just the same as official ones do. Looks to be the old ID and key system which the keygens use rather than the new license system they use now for current purchases.
After the purchase……
There will be a slight delay in the delivery of your license key. We are in the process of correcting this technical issue which may include waiting for information from the software publisher. This should be resolved within 1-2 workdays, although it is generally much faster. We will contact you via email as soon as further information is available. We apologize for any inconvenience.
:(
Same here. Must have been OzBargained seeing there's almost 1500 clicks on the link
weird, i just got mine instantly
Weird, perhaps manual key generating…
No, we just keep running out of codes as we can only buy in batches of 100 (until that supply runs out!).
It's all automated by Cleverbridge, apart from the ones where we run out, which then have to be manually processed, once we've loaded the system again.
Looks like it's gone up to $29.95. Still good value.
$29.95. Still good value.
Sadly the price had to go up slightly as a) we figured we were losing money on AUD sales and b) we're buying in USD and then converting pricing back!
How much?Resolved.thanks.
