  • £3.50 = $7.31 + currency conversion probably closer to $10AUD
is there a coupon code to make it $5.43 ?
still seems like a good price, but you might want to adjust the price in title.

  • Yes i can see your point, i change title price to 7.31 AUD

  • The 2014 version is regularly on special at MSY for $1. Any difference?

    • MSY usually sell OEM license which is cheaper than Retail. Also 2014 license will not support 2015 edition.

Unfortunately I believe McAfee Antivirus is a malware. There are better alternative out there.

    • lol. Only took 4 comments or so for the usual AV religious war to begin.

    • Malware that's new one.

Malware = slow down your system by taking too much of the resources. It does useless stuff other than scanning for viruses which it is not good at it in the first place. I suspect it is spying on my system and hence taking so much of the computer power in doing so. Delete delete.

Actually, I've seen the free version of McAfee bring in other malwares into a computer like ShopBot and Ask Toolbars.

      • Because you forgot to untick those those install options.

        • I guess I just have a different definition of the word ANTIvirus.

        • @soupiejr:
You get what you ask for. Your fault you don't untick "ask toolbar" on shareware/freeware downloads.

        • @redcreek200:

I don't think you're realising this but you're making my point for me :)

        • @soupiejr:
3rd party providers of shareware/freeware - and this includes security software - often bundle malware. It is up to you to untick where applicable the "extras".

The above occurs with all sorts of software. You must get a lot of malware an viruses if you never read and untick. :)

Good luck in your internet endeavors. You'll need it !!

  • I got this shit included with a new laptop. It's (profanity) horrible, did my standard malware test (downloaded 500MB of viruses from MalwareUp ane scan the folder). There were 95 pieces of malware in the folder, and McCrapee barely got 30 of them with the newest definitions. I don't expect an anti-virus program to detect them all but this is dreadful.
I'm installing MBAM Pro and Avast now.

    • Avira has less popups than Avast.

      • I've never seen Avast popups though. I use the Silent / Gaming mode and use a very slim install (no other crapware included) and it works fine.

There's even a guide telling you how to achieve this
        http://lifehacker.com/how-to-disable-avasts-annoying-sounds-…

When you use ANY free antivirus software it pays to use a custom install and disable the stuff you don't want, lest you want your antivirus to practically beg you to upgrade to a paid version.

        • +1

Till it expires on you every year. Then Avast makes work your way through marketing waffle looking for the fine print to continue your free registration. Avast is good, its free, its (fairly secure), but has become annoying.

Here is the creator of McAfee calling it the worst product ever.

      • -1

They don't sell this. But I won't risk my computer even if it is free.

    • -1

Not really sure anyone would want this, with Bitdefender keys turning up at regular intervals.

      http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/john-mcafee-mcafee-antivirus-one-wo…

Antivirus pioneer John McAfee has said the eponymous software he created was not really up to scratch. Responding to a question in a Reddit AMA, the self-described eccentric millionaire said: "McAfee is one of the worst products on the f**king planet."

That's a vote of confidence, not.
