  • this is 'normal' price, 50% off 1st month has been around a while.

    Vodafone 3G network.

per kb billing only since 1/8/2015, was per MB prior, which made the 2GB allowance more like 500MB - this is a very good improvement to the plan.

  • Don't these guys change their plans all the time…

    • Its been quite static for some time. I think you mean Lyca. They were notorious for changing rates / plans / offers all the time.

I used Lebara for some time and thought they were great. With kb billing, this is fantastic.

    • +1

      Hi Klownz,

The $29.90 plan has not changed since November 2013. Specifically it has been Unlimited with 2GB of Data. Recent positive changes include: Per kb billing from 1/8/15 and unlimited MMS from 1/2/15.

      Thanks,

      • Thanks, sorry I must have been thinking Lyca like rxjb noted…

Looks to be a good change!

  • I am currently on the $29 unlimited plan. It suits me. Vodafone coverage is better in my area than optus. 3G+ is fast as well.

    • Hi bargainhuntaa,

I like your username! Lebara uses the 3G+ network and download speeds of 20Mbps are achieveable in certain areas. Lebara also has access to the same voice footprint as Vodafone which includes the Optus roaming arrangements in regional areas.

      Thanks,

      • Rep is there an option of international roaming. I couldn't find anything on the website. Also no long term plans with a few month validity. How am I able to keep my service active whilst overseas. Cheers

  • This is almost the same as Yatango only the data is 2gb instead of 1.5gb. Not quite worth the switch but thanks anyway.

    • Yatango is Optus 4G

    • <133 MBday 3G v 50 MBday(+quicker page reload). 50, more like 2G though.

      • Good to know Yatango is faster in some respects but I didn't release you get an extra 2gb. If I used more mobile data I may have switched.

        • Data benchmarked over time is faster, all considered.

This plan means= 48 GB per annum (used auto-recharge),
Versus the optus-resold experience how much is 18 GB.
          Simples enough.

          Data
          4GB (2GB + 2GB BONUS)

          Billed in KB Increments

  • Cheaper than my habitual [-20%@ $32] 750.00 cap recharge for the first time and that does not even get infinite call. 3G still tops 4g coverage.

  • Used to use lebara when they had 1c/minute international calls to china. they suddenly dropped this and lost a customer. also, terrible service and signal. would not recommend

    • Hi tomkun01,

China is 0c on fixed and 1c on mobile per min

China is also Unlimited on the $24.90 and $49.90 plans.

Refer link and enter "China" for rates on all plans:

      Thanks,

      • they suddenly got rid of this while I was using it. it was the only thing i found useful. they may have brought it back now, but too late, i switched to VOIP - much cheaper

      • they also reduced the data allowance while I was with them. it was way too low with mb billing

  • make it 4G, decrease the call to around $250-$300 i dont care, give 3Gb or give more, and i will switch right away!

  • Not really competitive pricing.

Optus prepaid is $30 for 1.5GB data (which rolls over) and 4G. Also includes $5 Extras Credit For international calls, roaming and premium services.

    • The Optus represents as little as 0.375 of the VodaAU's carriage product,
yet has not charged $11.25 proportionately. If that don't show the worst of values..UMTS4GB > LTE1.5G.

      • Lebara uses Vodafone 3G.

        • Not really an issue. But you were concerned of pricing?

        • @daver:
I suppose more value as they are the same price.

        • @squeeb:
          More value and competition, great.

  • Lebara is the only company after I paid they refuse to send me my card.
The Phone Company to stay away.
    They even promise to me….

  • It took 2 days to receive sim and The 1 month voucher. The migration of mobile number was smooth and no problem whatsoever.

I am not sure yet about quality of the network, as my husband is using it.
If network/reception is good tbh it is hard to beat. Who gives you 4gb of data @$30? Also if you pay upfront $300 for a year which is $25 a month. If husband is happy with network we will get the 12 months one. Hard to beat, unless you want to get vouchers etc when offers are on.

  • Just report back concerning network: no problems in Sydney. We are very pleased so far and Internet is using very little for some reason. Husband is happy, so he will keep your service.

  • Thank you fozzie for the feedback. Please also note that the data on the 29.90 and 49.90 recharges are now 2.5GB (up from 2GB). The 39.90 recharge now has 5GB data (up from 4GB).
